CEO's Reborn Wife-Chapter 2005 - 2013: No Touching
James Black finished speaking and entered the bath room, filling the bathtub with water. Fearing Jane Sampson might be scared, he didn’t wait inside while the water was running but quickly returned to Jane’s side, keeping her company as they talked.
"When the mute aunt returns, you need to pretend not to know me and be very resistant towards me. Until the mission ends, I am Thomas," James Black instructed Jane Sampson.
"I know." Jane Sampson pulled at the corner of her mouth towards James Black, "Acting, I’m an expert."
This smile wasn’t very bright; James Black could see her smile was somewhat forced, just to reassure him.
James Black said nothing and reached out to touch her forehead.
Jane Sampson shook her head slightly, feeling displeased, "My hair stinks, don’t touch."
"It doesn’t stink; it still smells good," James Black replied very seriously.
Calculating the time, once the water was ready, James Black carried Jane Sampson into the bath room.
The clothes on her body had a strong scent of blood, especially on the side of the arm that was injured. The clothes were stained with a lot of dried blood.
The injury on her arm caused Jane Sampson to lose a lot of blood, compounded by being fed sleeping pills these few days and not eating much, making Jane Sampson’s entire body soft as mud, almost unable to muster the strength to stand.
The warm water enveloped her entire body, the long-lost warmth momentarily revived Jane Sampson.
However, as her injured arm entered the water, the pain was so intense that her lips almost bled from biting.
"Soak for a bit, then I’ll grab a clean towel to wipe you down. The wound can’t stay in the water for long. Bear with it for a short while." James Black knew how painful the wound entering the water must be. Watching Jane Sampson clench her teeth tightly and furrow her eyebrows deeply, yet staying silent, his heart ached, leaving him at a loss for words.
The towel was found inside the drawer, even the logo hadn’t been removed.
James Black sterilized the towel twice with boiling water and then used it to clean the wound on Jane Sampson’s arm as she lay across the bathtub. Despite the pain, with James Black by her side and the warm water soaking her, Jane Sampson relaxed entirely, so much so that before James Black finished bathing her, she had already fallen asleep leaning over there.
Only occasionally, when wiping a particularly severe wound, would she softly groan once or twice, her eyebrows twitching slightly, yet she remained asleep.
After cleansing the bloodstains from her arm, the knife wounds on her arm were completely exposed.
The depth varied, but each cut looked disturbing to behold.
Even seeing them made one feel the arm ache.
James Black found a clean bath towel and gently lifted the already asleep Jane Sampson from the bathtub. Throughout the process, he was careful to avoid brushing against her injured arm, even after placing her in bed, he supported her injured arm, ensuring the quilt didn’t touch her wounds.
He then found the hairdryer to dry her hair.
The mute aunt returned more than two hours later.
She brought back a heap of ointments, along with two sets of clothes for changing, from inside to outside.
When the mute aunt handed the stuff to James Black and gestured twice, James Black pretended not to understand, giving her a look that said, "I don’t know what you’re talking about," until the mute aunt grew impatient, gave up, turned around, and left. Only then did he close the door to apply medicine to Jane Sampson. The mute aunt had bought various brands of ointments; James Black carefully read through the instructions, then chose one and gently applied it to the wounds on Jane Sampson’s arm.
