Celestial Speed: Legacy-Chapter 58: Scar’s True Emotions

Henry almost burst into laughter. "Are you kidding? Isn’t keraunos the lightening bolt weapon thingy of zeus?" he asked. He didn’t know much about mythology but he had played enough GOW to know which is which.

Felicity sighed. "I know it’s sounds stupid as well, why would someone name himself after a weapon. But remember that this someone killed 5 gods singlehandedly," she replied

"So what I’m i supposed to do? Hide, run?"

"You have to fight!" Felicity said sharply. "I was asked to protect and train you until you are strong enough to be called a god, until you’re strong enough to defeat me," she said passionately

"Yeah just kill me now, until I become stronger than you is literally impossible. Are you kidding? They say you have all the abilities in existence, i don’t even know how you aren’t number 1 in the world," Henry retorted

"Look, it’s okay. If you agree to become my son, i promise to protect you. It’s really the only way I can do so and keep you in check. And as for defeating me, that’s a possibility if you figure out my weakness. Here, I’ll even give you an hint. I only have 3 abilities," Felicity stated with a loving smile, her serious expression completely gone.

Henry looked at the way Felicity already cared about him and couldn’t help but smile. "Perhaps if I had met someone like you in my past life... I could’ve..." he clenched his fist and replied her

"Actually I had a hunch about your abilities, I know that ice is one of them," he said

Felicity clapped happily. "Correct! Now you have to guess the other two, I’ll advise you think about it well because if you get any of it wrong, i won’t give you the rewards i have planned," she stated with a wink

Henry laughed slightly. "Okay then I shall think well about it, but I have another question. How sure are we that this Keraunos guy isn’t on his way right now to kill me?" he muttered

"You don’t have to worry about that for now, he isn’t anywhere close, trust me. And there is a kind of barrier keeping him from having access to our realm, Infact he might not even be able to sense you unless you release a massive amount of celestial energy," Felicity assured

Henry nodded, he didn’t really understand some of Felicity’s words but he clearly got the message

"It’s just that now that you exist, you have to be prepared. The barrier is like an hiding mechanism and you can’t hide forever," she added

Henry nodded in understanding. "So this guy is still far away and doesn’t even know I exist yet. This is a good opportunity to get stronger and eliminate him, i can’t always be watching my back, wondering when he’ll show up. When I get strong enough, I’ll find and kill him first," he resolved in his mind.

Felicity chuckled, she seemed to have heard his thoughts. "You know, you don’t have to do any of it on your own. There are others like you as well," she said

"Yeah... It’s just that i like working alone, a team will only drag me back. And besides, I’m not so good with people," he replied with a sadistic smile

Felicity stared at him in pity. "I can feel your pain, all you have ever known is pain and anger. You were born from it and into it, and you died once because you gave it up. And you think that if you become soft or show any sign of happiness, it means weakness," she stated and began walking closer to Henry who was facing the ground, clenching his fist and gritting his teeth.

"You... You don’t know anything about me... About what I’ve been through! Don’t try and talk to me like that," he said coldly

But Felicity didn’t stop, she kept walking forward. "It’s okay to be happy once in a while you know. And it’s not healthy to live with anger and grief for long," she muttered

Henry became more angry at her words, he was boiling with anger already. "Well i had to live with it, 16 years! 16 years i had to live with it, anger, grief and sorrow. Only darkness and more darkness,"

"You know this isn’t even your business, and what even led to this emotional nonsense, huh? Oh I know, you’re trying to get him back aren’t you? To get the good, gullible Henry instead, one who hasn’t killed or committed multiple atrocities, cause he’s the one everybody prefer isn’t it!" he kept yelling. Felicity had suddenly hit him in an emotional spot.

"Well maybe you’re right," she replied. "Maybe i don’t trust you either, you’ve killed people mercilessly, manipulated people and even betrayed people. So yeah, maybe I want the other Henry back, one you locked up in the deepest depths of your mind,"

Henry was now completely filled with raged, he was always calm and collected even when killing, but right now, he seemed to be letting his emotions run wild and he hated it, he hated that this woman found a weak spot. One he tried so hard to suppress.

"But what kind of mother would I be if I do that? I myself have my share of dark hours, and I understand all your pain. You went through so many things on your own, nobody to grief with, nobody to talk to, nobody to console you. Just darkness," she continued and stood directly in front of Henry who looked like he could attack her at any moment, but he knew better.

"I know that you are not a bad person, you are Henry to me and maybe even the one that will ensure both your survival, because you are like me, you will do whatever it takes to survive and protect. The only difference between us was that you didn’t have anyone to protect so it was all about aimless survival for you, and you feel bad because no one loves you... Or rather because you love no one," she said and placed her hands on his face, caressing it gently

"How can you be this... Warm?" Henry asked, sensing the care and love the woman already had for him. He couldn’t bring himself to trust it, all his life it had been about manipulation. How was he sure she wasn’t using his current emotions to blackmail him into trusting her.

"It’s okay, you are truly loved. I know your pain, I’ve seen all what you went through and I have gone through it with you," she muttered and hugged him

He didn’t understand what she meant or what was even happening. "Why am I feeling this way? Could this be genuine? No! I won’t fall so easily!" Henry pondered in his mind. But everything suddenly disappeared as he felt a gentle kiss on his forehead

"It’s okay to let down your guard a little, even the stone hearted ones still have hearts. it just needs the right set of people to fill it," she whispered and caressed his head softly. Felicity was unto something, she had seen all of Henry’s memories, including that of his past life, she saw how he would spare those with children at times, and figured what his therapy could be.

"I... I just wanted to be loved mum, i just wanted to be more than a coping mechanism," Henry sobbed in her embrace, tears already streaming down his face.

"It’s okay, let it all out. No one should have to go through all that," Felicity said softly, her eyes tearing up as well. But she quickly withdraw them and smiled, she had no other intentions than to care for the broken kid in her arms, using her true gift of being a good mother, one she didn’t get to experience.
