Wanting to Surpass the MC with the Greatest Harem.-Chapter 58: System Training(1)
The shadows that wrapped around Dominic’s form twisted unnaturally. One moment he stood beside Lady Fares and Alice, surrounded by the grim reality of the Ghosts’ defeat, and in the next breath, the world seemed to crack open.
His body was seized by an unseen force.
[Ding! Emergency Quest Activated!] [Trial of the Void - Initiated.] [Host shall be transported to the Secluded Realm. Survive the Lekar Swarm. Time Limit: Unknown. Objective: Survive.]
Dominic tried to shout, to resist, to understand, but his voice vanished as the shadows yanked him inward. He was just recovering from the claws of the Colossi and now this! Damn! Fuck! Darkness consumed him.
He landed hard on a rocky surface, his breath knocked from his lungs. The sky above was a roiling canvas of black and crimson. The ground beneath him cracked and steamed, jagged terrain sprawled out endlessly.
"Where the hell am I?" Dominic muttered, pushing himself up. A sharp wind cut across his skin, and the air was thick with the scent of decay.
Then he heard it. The screech. He turned.
From the far ridge, they emerged. The Lekars.
Towering, hunched creatures, each standing over seven feet tall, their twisted forms armored in bone-like shells. Spikes jutted from their limbs, and their eyes glowed with violet hunger. Their mouths split vertically, filled with rows of needled teeth.
Ten of them. Then twenty. Then more.
Dominic reached behind and gripped the hilt of his blade.
"Alright, you freaks... let’s dance."
The first Lekar lunged with a speed unnatural for its size. Dominic dodged low, sliding beneath its claw and slicing up through its gut. A burst of purple blood sprayed the cracked ground.
It shrieked and fell, writhing.
[Ding! +100 EXP] The rest roared and charged. He smiled. He had easily killed the same creature he had struggled to kill as a punishment.
Dominic leaped into motion, activating his [Shadow Dance] skill. His form split and blurred, weaving between the onslaught. Blades clashed against bone, and claws tore at the air.
He ducked, twisted, and struck.
Another Lekar fell, but its claws caught his shoulder, slicing through his shirt and into flesh. Dominic grunted but stayed upright. He jumped backward, sliding down a slope of obsidian.
From the shadows of the terrain, more emerged.
"There’s no end to you, is there?" he growled, summoning [Massacre Domain].
His body trembled as the power surged. Darkness wrapped around his limbs like tendrils, and his eyes burned with wild light.
The Lekars slowed, watching. His glow seemed unnatural. They stopped to observe. As beings they had a level of brain. Their brain was developed and not like a dummy random beast.
Then Dominic moved. He became a storm. His stats had increased significantly and he was now able to control his Massacre Domain comfortably. A smirk trailed on his lips faintly.
He danced through their ranks like a blade of night, slicing necks, tearing joints, ducking claws, delivering knees and elbows fueled by supernatural strength. The terrain shook with every strike.
[Ding! +200 EXP] [Ding! +300 EXP] [Ding! +500 EXP]
He turned, only to be grabbed by one massive Lekar that had emerged from the fog. Its claws pierced into his side. He screamed and stabbed upward with his dagger, jamming it into the creature’s eye.
The Lekar wailed and flung him aside. Dominic hit the stone wall hard. Blood spilled from his lips.
"Damn it... I can’t keep this up..."
He struggled to rise as five more closed in. They moved as one unit, snarling, eyes glowing.
Then something clicked inside him. He remembered his trails. The encouters he had. They all had a part and role to play. The Ghosts General trails.
He clenched his fists.
"I’m not going to die here." He muttered as he remembered that Lillian and Danielle had died.
He vanished into the shadow behind him. The Lekars looked around.
He appeared behind the tallest one and sliced its head clean off. Before the others could react, he dashed forward, cutting two more in half.
But then the earth shook.
A beast twice the size of the other Lekars stepped from the mist.
Its claws were massive. Its body armored like a demon lord. Its eyes were two voids of emptiness.
[An Alpha Lekar] The system’s mechanical voice whispered in his head.
Dominic’s eyes widened in shock and awe. The size was about 20 feet tall. The creature roared, shaking the whole realm.
"Damn! I can’t go on like this. I have to kill it with everything I have." Dominic resolved.
Dominic activated everything he had: [Ghost Walk], [Flame Thrower], [Assassin Sway]. Fire erupted from his palms, catching one of the minor Lekars. He used its burning body as cover and jumped high, slashing at the Alpha’s face.
The blade glanced off the bone. A massive arm swatted him aside. He skidded across the stone.
His nose was bleeding. One arm was nearly numb. The Alpha marched toward him slowly. Dominic stood, eyes wild.
Then he remembered a skill he hadn’t tried.
[Charm Stealing - Level 2]
He gritted his teeth. He activated it. The Alpha paused. For a second, its head jerked back, confused. It seemed perplexed.
Dominic took the opening. He jumped and slammed both blades into its chest. The Alpha screamed.
Then it grabbed him, crushed him against the ground.Bones snapped. Dominic coughed blood.
He reached inside the cloak, pulled out a pen knife. And stabbed it right through the throat.
It roared. Dominic twisted the blade. A geyser of blood shot upward. The Alpha crashed down roughly.
Silence.
[Ding! Alpha Lekar Defeated. +1000 EXP] [Ding! Quest Update: Survived first wave. Preparing second wave...]
Dominic lay on the ground, gasping.
"Second wave?" he whispered. "Are you damn serious..?"
The sky thundered with violent thunder and lightning. The sky cracked visibly and the sky coloured yelow.
More shadows appeared on the ridge. His eyes widened in shock and dismay. He felt hollow as he had no strength or energy left in him.
"This system is damn freaking kidding me! A second wave?" Dominic muttered in dismay.
