With the creation of the Key of Thirst, Mater gained an additional 4 Rank-2 Spell Slots, 3 Servant Slots, and 2 Demonic Item Slots.

The black cat breathed out a red cloud of Chaos.

"It feels good to become stronger." The black cat meowed.

Crow clapped approvingly, "Magnificent, Master!"

"Blanche is really having a bad influence on all of you." The black cat sweated.

"Blanche likes to overreact but I agree with what she said. Master does require the proper presentation."

"You’re damn right!" The black cat swiped its head like it was swiping a head full of hair.

"Should we continue hunting, Master?" Crow said.

"Yes. We dealt with all the revenants. The remaining enemies should be wraiths. Let’s try to catch one alive."

"What for, Master?" Crow said.

"I need to test something." The black cat stroked its whiskers.

With all the revenants disappeared, the remaining wandering enemies were wraiths. These weren’t wraiths coming from this world, they were Void Wraiths. Their energy and entire being were greatly different from this world’s wraiths.

Crow and Mater approached a wraith. It was circling a tree aimlessly.

The wraith didn’t have a humanoid body nor anything that resembled a living being of this world. Instead, it looked like a porcelain statue.

It had four sharp white legs and no head. The only other organ on its body was a giant red eye on its torso. The red eye could traverse on its body freely and shoot out a cone of red light.

"That is a wraith? It seems so different from the usual wraith we encounter." Crow said.

The octagrams appeared in Mater’s eyes. "That is a wraith alright. But it is not originated in our world. It must be from that adjacent dimension that we always hear about. The Void.

You’re ready?"

Crow nodded. Two short swords appeared inside his hands.

Crow and Mater disappeared from vision as they both turned invisible. The Abomination used its innate passive ability while the black cat used Minor Distortion to hide itself.

The red eye was looking around aimlessly. Suddenly, it snapped in one direction. The red cone of light shined upon Crow and revealed him.

"This thing can deactivate invisibility!" Crow squinted his white eyes.

The red eye shined brighter and shot out a huge red beam. Crow seeped into the ground and became a shadow, dodging that red beam.

Mater activated his Demonic Transformation Watch and became a black panther. He transformed right beneath the Void Wraith, causing it to be flung upward.

"Chains of Shadow!"

Black chains materialized in this endless darkness and held the Void Wraith still. Its red eyes turned over to Mater and became brighter. It was charging energy to attack him.

Crow turned into a strip of shadow and appeared right beside it. He plunged the two Nether Swords into the eye and destroyed it, neutralizing its only range attack.

"Good work, Crow. Now, it’s my turn." The black panther growled.

Inside his Chaos Circuit, he called upon the connection he had with Selina.

Selina was sleeping inside her dormitory when everything was happening. The Brand on her back lit up in red.

Erin was doing her homework on the laptop when she felt a pressure out of nowhere. She snapped her head toward Selina and saw the Brand.

Usually the Brand of the Psycho Pact was very simple and ordinary. It would look like an ordinary tattoo that was just a little bit colorful. The Brand on Selina’s back was different. It was large and intimidating.

It was a dark ring with an octagrams in the middle. People in the Union normally associated pentagram with evil forces. So when Erin saw the octagrams, she thought it was the same as a pentagram.

"That..." Erin widened her eyes, "Selina worshipped a demon?"

That was the only reasonable explanation Erin had in her head.

Back in the Confederation.

Crow jumped backwards, extending his distance with the wraith. He destroyed its eye but didn’t kill it. This allowed Mater to channel his connection with Selina and used her power.

The Psycho Pact was a two-way link. Selina could use his spell and Mater could use her Psycho Skill.

Soon, he gained access to the Empath Crystallization.

The paw of the black panther opened wide. Crystals enveloped its fur.

"HOLD!"

Mater jumped onto the Void Wraith and slammed it to the ground. His paw dug deep into the Void Wraith. The crystalized structure spread within the Void Wraith and completely froze it.

Selina and other Psychics could only use Empath Crystallization as a trap to immobilize a wraith. But Mater could directly turn it into crystals.

"Now. Collect!"

All of the Chaos of the wraith went inside Mater. He didn’t have Psycho Force so the Chaos went into his Chaos Circuit instead.

This resulted in two effects.

One, instead of feeling the emotions of the Wraith, Mater felt nothing. His Chaos was denser and more powerful so its Chaos couldn’t affect him also.

Two, Mater’s own Chaos changed the wraith’s Chaos. Because of the absence of a Psycho Force, no Emotional Spectrum was converted, only pure Chaos got transformed.

Mater didn’t receive Emotional Gemstone. Instead, he received a Chaos Gemstone.

The wraith’s Chaos returned to its body and consumed the spectral flesh. It shrunk into a small red sphere.

"Huh?" Mater picked up the Gemstone to examine it further.

Emotional Gemstone was a rough jewel with jagged or sharp edges. Mater’s Chaos Gemstone was spherical just like his Chaos Sphere.

Crow squatted down to look at the Gemstone with Mater.

"That seems different." Crow said.

Mater nodded. "There is only one way to know what changed."

The black cat opened its mouth and tossed the Chaos Gemstone inside.

In the dark red space, the Chaos Gemstone appeared and hovered. The 18 paintings floated in a circle.

Mater’s eyes appeared in the dark red space. He felt the power of the Chaos Gemstone.

"This is... a fusion power?"

Emotional Gemstone could create new spells. Chaos Gemstone could fuse existing ones.

Mater controlled the power of the Chaos Gemstone and linked it to Death Plates and Glacial Touch.
