CAT WARLOCK: This Darklord Feasts Upon Horror-Chapter 264: Glacial Death Plates

Death Plates could defend Mater and damage whatever touched him. Glacial Touch sent the power of Death Ice deeper into the body of the enemy, resulting in a more severe damage.

However, there was an obvious overlap between the power of the two.

By using Chaos Gemstone, Mater linked the two spells together, establishing a foundation for the two spells to fuse together in the future.

The Chaos Gemstone created two connections to Death Plates and Glacial Touch’s paintings.

"Hmmm. I see. Because I stripped away all Emotional Spectrum, it lost the power of creating a new spell. Now I can fuse existing spells instead.

It seems like I need at least ten Chaos Gemstones to complete the fusion." The black panther meowed.

Crow rubbed his chin in deep thoughts, "But Master wants to create new spells, right? How could we achieve this?"

"I have an idea on how to do that. But first, let’s catch a few more Void Wraiths to complete my fusion."

There were quite a few Rank-1 Spells that Mater wanted to fuse together. Death Plates and Glacial Touch were only two of them.

They continued their hunt and quickly spotted a group of three Void Wraiths.

"Keep two of them at bay, Crow."

"Roger, Master!"

The panther and the Abomination rushed at the three Void Wraiths.

Crow summoned a Nether Spear and played with the two wraiths while Mater cornered one.

The Void Wraiths had a different shape from the last wraith they fought. Instead of four legs and looking like a headless horse, these wraiths were even weirder.

One wraith was a white triangle that flew in the air. Its body constantly spun in the air.

Another wraith had a narrow body with a long pointy nose.

The last one was a tall wraith with four broad arms.

Crow attacked the nose wraith and the four-arm wraith.

The black panther flew in the air and attacked the triangular wraith.

The triangular wraith had three eyes. These eyes could shoot out red beams individually.

The wraith focused its eyes at Mater and barraged him with laser beams.

"Heh. No matter how much you can shoot. Your beams are too weak." The black panther raised its paw. A pink semi-transparent barrier appeared in front of him.

He used the Layered Force Dome with only two stacks. It was enough to block all of the laser beams.

The triangular wraith flew backwards and tried to get away. Mater was faster than it. He turned into a Spike Ball and shot at the wraith.

The wraith fell to the ground. Mater immediately constructed a crystallized claw and punctured the wraith. It was quickly transformed into a Chaos Gemstone.

"Come to papa!"

The black panther swallowed the Gemstone, adding another link to the connection of Death Plates and Glacial Touch.

Crow looked up and saw Mater had finished consuming the wraith. He transformed his Nether Spear into a large heavy war hammer.

Crow swung the war hammer at the four-arm wraith, sending it flying toward Mater.

"Wraith incoming, Master!"

"I got it, Crow!"

Mater flew up and punctured the Void Wraith from behind. He sucked out all of its Chaos and quickly converted it into a Chaos Gemstone.

A third link was added to the fusion.

The long nose wraith charged at Crow with its nose. A faint red energy enveloped around its nose, enhancing its damage.

Crow simply seeped into the ground and avoided it. When the wraith went over him, Crow kicked its from below and sent it to the air.

Mater bolted over and punctured the wraith.

Another Gemstone was collected.

The fourth link was established.

"Only six more to go!"

There were around 100 Void Wraiths roaming in the area. Mater had more than enough to do at least ten more fusions.

He and Crow spent half an hour collecting the other six Gemstones. Killing these wraiths were easy but finding them needed time as they weren’t staying at the same place.

"This is it..." Mater held the tenth Gemstone in his paw. "Let’s see how good of a fusion this is."

The black cat threw the Gemstone in its mouth.

The tenth link was established.

Immediately, the two paintings were pulled together. The portrait of Death Plates fused with Glacial Touch.

At the same time, the Dark Grimoire inside Mater’s Arsenal began to tremble. Chaos leaked out of its page.

A new painting was born.

An armor of white ice with dancing snow around it.

[Effect]: You can summon a suit of armor made out of Death Ice. Anything that touches this armor shall be damaged severely by the power of the hell of blizzard. Anything that attacks this armor shall be reflected back. The air around you is colder, any Glacial spell shall be more effective while wearing this armor. You gain minor resistance to heat, Hellfire, and physical damage while wearing the armor.

[Cooldown]: 60 seconds.

Mater spat out the Dark Grimoire to check the new spell. He gasped when he read the new spell.

"Gyatdamn! This is a Rank-1 Spell?" The black panther growled deeply.

Mater felt the power of the new spell. It wasn’t that impressive. The power of the spell was almost touching the realm of Rank-2 Spell, but it was still a Rank-1. The maximum amount of damage it could reflect was limited. The enhanced ability was also limited. Overall, it was an absurdly powerful Rank-1 Spell but was still weaker than a Rank-2 Spell.

"Hmmm. By fusing spells, I can make a single spell have more effects than it usually has... Death Plates and Glacial Touch overlapped so fusing them was a good idea. I wonder what would happen if I fuse Hellfire’s Pit and Hellfire Chain?"

Those two spells were also coming from one source of power. Mater couldn’t wait to see what it would become.

"Let’s hunt some more wraiths, Crow!" The black panther said.

"Whenever you’re ready, Master." Crow bowed his head.

"First, let me try the new Death Plates!"

Mater activated the new fused spell. A suit of armor appeared around his huge panther’s body. The suit of armor was different from last time. Instead of a layer of clear ice, the Death Ice became so dense that it made the armor appear to be white.

The suit of armor was more detailed, protecting more areas, and overall was an upgrade from last time. A cold air enveloped the space around Mater.

"Now this is a good piece of armor."
