Chapter 146: Doctor

The Grand Duke looked inside the room.

The fifth Princess was on the bed. Her eyes were closed as her breathing increased. Princess Cassandra’s eyes were closed. Her hand was down and a few droplets of water flew down.

The water had formed a layer on the floor as the fifth Princess’s lady in waiting was at the side crying. The tears refused to stop as she rubbed her eyes continuously.

The Grand Duke did not understand anything as he walked inside. Soon Princess Cassandra’s eyes opened as she looked at the Grand Duke. She tried to say something but could not. It looked like the words refused to come out of her mouth.

"What are you trying to say?" Lord Bentham moved forward with a worried expression. He sat down beside the fifth Princess as he took a hold of her hand. "What is happening to you?"

Lord Bentham’s eyes narrowed as he looked at Princess Cassandra’s lady in waiting. "You tell me since when is the Princess like this? Why didn’t you inform me before? Princess is here because of me. She is in my care. Didn’t you think of informing me at all?"

The anger in Lord Bentham’s voice was evident. His eyes were sharp and his tone was harsh.

Amy shivered in fright as she looked at Lord Bentham. "I don’t know how this happened? The fifth Princess felt a little cold yesterday but she was feeling good today. But suddenly something happened and Princess Cassandra fell down. She was shivering and her fingers were covered with water." Amy’s tears started flowing. "I could not understand what to do anymore. I was frightened."

Lord Bentham shook his head as he looked back. "When will the doctor arrive?" The panic in his voice was visible.

The guard standing outside was frightened as he said in a hurry. "He is on his way."

"BRING HIM HERE NOW!" Achard Bentham shouted as he said. The guard nodded his head as he was about to move when Princess Teimei’s words stopped him.

"I will get him." Before anyone could react, Princess Teimei disappeared and within seconds the doctor was standing in front of them with sweat on his face.

"Look at her." Princess Teimei said as she hurried to the doctor.

The old man examined as he looked at the Grand Duke and the royal sibling before saying softly. "I need to examine carefully. Can you give me some privacy?"

The Grand Duke and the royals nodded as they left the room. Achard Bentham looked at the side as he narrowed his eyes. Although his voice had a little tremble in it, it was still sharp. "Ed, follow us out. Nothing will happen to Princess Cassandra. Let the doctor examine her."

Duke Salvador looked at Lord Bentham but he could not react. He simply nodded and went out.

The royals and Lord Bentham were tense and Amy, Princess Cassandra’s lady in waiting could not help but cry. No one knew what was going on. Some of them were still full of questions and suspensions.

[Amy, take Ed and go somewhere else.] Soon Princess Cassandra’s words came into Amy’s mind.

Amy started crying louder as she rubbed her eyes continuously. Her breathing started increasing as she said in a dull tone. "This is too much for me. I hope the fifth Princess stays safe."

"Yes, nothing can happen to the fifth Princess. She is going to be fine."

"Princess Cassandra had told me that she wanted roses arranged in her room today. She likes their fragrance. Yes, I should go and get them."

At this point, Amy was talking to herself in a loud tone. It looked as if seeing the fifth Princess in this condition she had lost her mind. Amy looked up as she rubbed her eyes.

"Ed, come with me. Princess Cassandra wants roses. Help me to pick some."

Duke Salvador looked at Amy but did not move. He could see her smiling like a crazy person and yet he refused to do anything.

Amy’s eyes narrowed as she said in a harsh tone. "Why are you not listening? Princess Cassandra will get sad when she wakes up. Come and help me."

Lord Bentham looked between Amy and the Duke as he sighed. "She is in shock." Achard Bentham said as he looked at Ed. "Go with her. I am here for the Princess."

Duke Salvador refused to leave, making Achard a little irritated. "I will not let anything happen to my fiance. You go."

Duke Salvador could not help but go to the garden with Amy. The royal sibling and the Grand Duke had listened to this all. They did not care what was happening with Amy anymore, all they wanted to know was what was wrong with Princess Cassandra.

"Princess wants to talk," Amy said in a whisper as she touched Duke Salvador’s hand. "She says the doctor wants to touch her."

Duke Salvador’s eyes turn sharp. "Tell her to attack him with water. A water rope ting him up to the point he is about to lose his breath will be good, but let the rope lose the power and drop down like water soon afterward."

Amy nodded as she picked a few flowers and told Princess Cassandra the same thing that Duke Salvador had told her.

[Amy, I will be in deep sleep. He is about to give me sleeping medication soon. Go back. The doctor will be out.]

Amy nodded as she repeated the words to Duke Salvador. Aiden smiled. "It’s time to see if Achard can really help us or not."

—------

When Amy and Duke Salvador came back they could feel all eyes on them. Amy looked down at the roses in her hand as she said in a soft tone. "When Princess Cassandra wakes up she will love the fragrance of roses."

No one said anything to this. Everyone was focused on the door as a few noises could be heard from inside.

And soon, the doctor came out. He rubbed the sweat from his forehead as his eyes were looking down in disappointment.

"What happened?" Amy gave the roses in Ed’s hand as she rushed to the doctor, scaring him at the moment. Her voice was hurried as she asked in dispiration. "How is the Princess now? Had she woken up? Is she fine?"

The doctor took a few steps back. He took a deep breath before he looked up. "The Princess woke up for a brief moment but she is now sleeping. I have given her medication so she should be fine once she wakes up."

Everyone nodded as they looked past the doctor. Amy was the first to ask. "Can I go inside?"

"You can but make sure not to wake the Princess up." The doctor said. He looked like Princess Cassandra’s lady in waiting and her guard left the corridor and entered the room.

The doctor turned around as he looked at the Grand Duke. "There is a little problem."

The Grand Duke could understand that something was wrong. He said in a small voice. "Let’s discuss it in the study."

—---

"The fifth Princess of the Elvira Empire is losing her powers." The doctor said with a worried expression. "If she is not treated soon, she might lose all of the power that she absorbed."

"How is this possible?" Prince Carl asked as his eyes narrowed. "Isn’t her body of a type that could absorb the element?"

Achard Bentham cut through. "But looking at the fifth Princess’s history it is not uncommon."

"Her history?" The doctor asked curiously. "Does she have any history?"

"Yes, she does." Achard Bentham nodded his head. "It is said that the fifth Princess had a weak body. She was a neglected child in the palace. I have read of a few cases that say that if one’s body is not powerful enough to handle their elemental power, they start losing their powers."

The doctor was quiet for a few seconds as if thinking. "Yes, I have heard of this too. Maybe Princess Cassandra lacks nutrition so her body is rejecting all the power that she had absorbed. She is currently holding the water element so it is leaking out."

"What should be done? We need her to absorb all the elements within the next two weeks." Prince Carl said with a sharp tone.

"The Princess might die if she really did absorb it." The doctor murmured. "She might not be able to absorb it until her body is strong enough to handle it."

"So now do we have to keep up to her nutrition?" Princess Teimei asked.

"Yes, keeping her body fit is the only way." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

The Grand Duke, who was silent, raised his lips. "So let us feed the fifth Princess first. When the secretary gets the Elvira Princess we will take Princess Cassandra to Kir mountain. We will let her absorb the other elements their itselves. Even if she dies there it won’t matter then. Elvira will be woken up anyway."

The royal siblings looked at each other as they nodded.

"I will inform the King." Prince Carl said as he walked out of the room.
