CASSANDRA: The Unfavored Princess-Chapter 145: Water droplet
The Empress tried to look out but her sight could not see light.
The detached palace was built as a prison inside the royal palace. The royals who had committed some crime were kept there and the treatment received was not too good.
Over the centuries the treatment provided at the detached palace turned cruel. When the current Empress took hold of the palace, she started using the place as her personal punishment center.
The Empress started sending the Princesses in the detached palaces. The one that did not obey her or the one that made a wrong move was sent there. The rumors said that the Princess’s or concubines were not given food for days. Their hands were locked so that they could not use their powers. Even the sun rays could not enter the site, making the prisoners deprived of the sunrays.
The Empress had never thought that she would be the one who would be locked in this prison someday. "MY FAMILY WILL NOT TOLERATE IT."
"I AM THE EMPRESS OF ELVIRA EMPIRE. THIS IS NOT A PLACE FOR ME."
The Empress’s shouts could be heard. The guards that were stationed outside looked at each other. Their faces were covered in sweat but they could not do anything. The Empress was scary but the Emperor was scarier. The guards were a part of the royal army. Although they should be loyal to the whole family, everyone knew that they took the orders from the Emperor alone.
"Should we help the Empress?" One of the guards asked in a whisper. Her throat that had dried trembled a little.
"Do you want to die? The Emperor is the one who had locked the Empress there."
"Her hands are also handcuffed. The Empress cannot use her powers." The guard tried to reason.
"She could not use her powers but she could kill. Let’s not forget our place and close our eyes and ears." The other guard said.
"AHHH ..." soon the shouts of the frustrated Empress were heard but the guards could not do anything. They swallowed and hoped that their lives would not be miserable once the Empress came out.
—--------
"I heard the Empress had crossed her line with the Emperor."
"That is quite understandable. The Empress thinks that she is the one who can make people follow her, even the Emperor."
"I heard the Emperor had said to let the Empress experience life in the detached palace."
"Will they stop giving the Empress food?"
"It should be. The Emperor was quite angry. Maybe this time the Empress will be able to taste her own medicine."
Many discussions started happening at the Royal Palace. The concubines gathered as the gossip spread. No one knew what had happened between the Emperor and the Empress in the study room but it was widely known that the Empress had disrespected the Emperor.
Some of the followers of the Empress were sad with the news. They started thinking of ways to help the Empress but there were people that had initially suffered because of the Empress as well which were happy.
A political war started brewing inside the royal palace of the Elvira Empire. Two teams were formed, one that supported the Empress and hoped that she would come out faster while the other that wished that the Empress should suffer for all the things she had done to others.
The nobles started having discussions. Some even tried to convince the Emperor that the Empress was the pride of the Empire. How can she be kept in the detached palace? But the Emperor was not in a mood to listen. He did not even give an audience to the noble as he locked himself in his official work.
Soon the news that the Emperor and the Empress had fallen apart spread wide. It was not long before it reached the Vivere Kingdom.
—-----
Prince Carl laughed as he listened to the report. "The royals of the Elvira Empire should not be entertained. They just got the powers due to a promise. They are not even worthy."
"Son, you are thinking too deeply." The King shook his head. "Once we will be capable of engulfing all the elements, the Elvira Empire’s royal will be our first target."
Prince Carl nodded. "The secretary had sent a report. They will be reaching Kir mountain soon."
"But the fifth Princess had only water element with her." Princess Teimei sighed. "She still needs to absorb fire and wind before we can take her to Kir mountain."
"She will need the pure source of the fire." The King said as he rubbed his chin. "Elvira Empire’s first Princess is a fire mage. The one that will melt the snow should have a pure source."
"You want Princess Cassandra to absorb the powers from Princess Valeria?" Princess Teimei asked as she raised her eyebrows. "They both hate each other."
"But that has nothing to do with us." The Grand Duke’s voice came as he spoke in a harsh tone. "All we should care about is searching for the pure wind element."
Princess Teimei nodded. "Yes, the place my brother told me was not correct. The Princess could not feel anything there."
"Are you sure?" Prince Carl narrowed his eyes. "The place is written in our old books. The information is trustworthy."
"Are you doubting me now?" Princess Teimei gritted her teeth. "Princess Cassandra was enjoying her stay. I had seen her after she absorbed the element. She cannot control the power. If you do not trust me, ask my cousin. He was with her the whole time."
Lord Bentham who was silent looked up. He could feel all the eyes on him as he sighed. "Princess Teimei’s words are correct. Princess Cassandra did not feel anything at that place."
The King raised his eyebrows. "So we need to search again. Is there any other way?"
The room was silent. No one made any noise. "Why are you all so silent?" The King rubbed his forehead in irritation. "Find out a way soon."
The room shortly became noisy. The guard knocked on the door and rushed inside in a hurry.
Everyone looked at him. The guard that was trembling had a face full of worry. "Th ... The ... Pri .."
"What happened?" Lord Bentham asked as he looked at the guard. "Take a breath and tell us."
"The fifth Princess ... She... She .." The guard managed to say but he could not continue.
Everyone’s ears picked up. The King could not wait any longer as he asked in a sharp tone. "What happened to her?"
The guard swallowed as he looked at the King and the others. But before he could say anything Lord Bentham had already made his way to the door. "Let me go and see it personally."
"I will come too." Princess Teimei said as she walked behind Lord Bentham. Her eyes were filled with worry. Although Prince Carl did not say anything, he too followed behind.
The King and Grand Duke looked at each other before turning to the guard. The guard who was trembling in fright swallowed as he continued. "The fifth Princess had suddenly fallen ... si .. sick... there were droplets of water running through her finger .."
As soon as the guard finished his word the King got up from his chair. "CALL THE DOCTOR."
The guard nodded as he rushed out in fright. His eyes were shaking but he managed to make his way in search of the royal doctor.
"This should not have happened?" The Grand Duke said as he looked at the King. "Something is not right with her."
"I was planning to force the wind element in her with the help of the crystals that we have. But it looks like we cannot do that now." The King said as he looked down. "Why is this happening so suddenly? We have waited for this day for centuries and now that we have everything in our control, problems have started arising."
The Grand Duke’s eyes narrowed as he sighed. "I will make sure that nothing happens. Everything will go as per our plan. Princess Elvira will be woken up."
The King nodded as he looked at the Grand Duke. "I trust you brother. I know you will not fail me and the kingdom."
The Grand Duke nodded as he left the room and started walking towards the fifth Princess’s room. His mind was filled with thoughts about the situation. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
’Why is this happening?’
’She is the chosen one then why did she faint so suddenly?’
’Is it because of her weak body or something else? It should be because she lacks nutrition. Yes, that must be the cause.’
’But what if that is not? I have to get to the bottom of things.’
The Grand Duke saw his son and the royal sibling standing outside the room. Seeing the situation he frowned. "Why are you not entering?"
The Grand Duke took a step forward as he looked inside the room. But soon his step paused. The condition inside the room made his eyes turn wide and his throat dry.
