Building My SSS-Rank Universal Empire: From Trash to Cosmic Overlord-Chapter 95: You won’t escape
Stowig bowed. "I have news about Vale and his team. They have finally arrived in Veilwood."
Fell sneered as he straightened behind his table. "Finally, after a week of traveling! They sure took their sweet time."
He had taken Vale seriously after what happened in the pit and learned that the Steelclaw wasn’t in control of the boy, so he didn’t have to worry about consequences.
But what still baffled him was Alyndra. Why did she give that order for Vale to kill the outlaws? It made him uncomfortable because it was too targeted. ’But does it matter in the end? She wants him dead as much as I do, and this time, I’m going to have his head!’
Stowig hesitated. "But they’ve been lazing around since, not even trying to recruit people for their operation. The only difference was yesterday when they made trips in and out of the forest."
Fell narrowed his eyes. "Are they waiting for support from the Steelclaw?"
Stowig shook his head. "I doubt that. The Steelclaw and they seem to be avoiding each other."
Fell grunted. He couldn’t imagine what that bastard Vale was thinking. "Maybe he’s finally gotten cold feet after hearing it won’t be an easy task.
"But I doubt that. He must be planning something, for sure. Have you given that to Blackened Blade and told him that the boy he’s looking for is with them?"
"Of course."
His mouth curled, and Fell shook his head. "I don’t want anything to happen to the new batch of slaves that just arrived. Make sure you let the Blackened Blade know."
Stowig bowed again.

Deep in the Veilwood, right in front of a castle-like building, a man stood in the shadows, hooded. He had been standing there for a while now, and even he wasn’t able to fully hide his presence.
Another appeared behind the man, dagger held lightly but ready to lash out at any moment. Her voice was sweet and husky when she spoke. "An assassin? What an unusual one. What makes you think you can breach our Blackened Blade hideout without us knowing?"
She sounded more amused than angry. "And who sent you this time? Shattered Vile, Ashfang Reapers, or one of those overly zealous teams?"
The voice rumbled in answer, rich in darkness. "Lysa of the Blackened Blade, one of the trusted fighters. There’s even a rumor that your boss trusts you to do more—"
Purple light suddenly clung to Lysa’s dagger. It lengthened and shot forward in a deadly line, but the man suddenly wasn’t there. He was slightly off, and the attack slammed into a tree, tearing a big chunk out of it.
He chuckled again and finally turned, but under his hood was darkness, like midnight without a moon. Then he removed his hood to reveal a rough face and black eyes. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
Lysa sneered. Although the man seemed familiar, she couldn’t place him. "Not a nice thing to show your face, eh? Sloppy assassin."
Tiber spread his hands. "But I’m not an assassin. I’m only here to pass a message to your boss, the leader of the Blackened Blade."
Lysa immediately tensed. With the news going around about hunting outlaws, they had taken extra precautions for security, which was why she was even out patrolling in the first place.
She narrowed her eyes. This man had specifically targeted her because she was one of the ’officers’ in Blackened Blade and had the leader’s ear. "What do you want? Be quick with your message so I can kill you."
Tiber frowned, replying absentmindedly. "I’m not getting killed today."
They had arrived in Veilwood a week ago and waited for Xan to gather the necessary information. Ultimately, Vale didn’t want to go through the stress of killing the outlaws one hideout after another.
Not only was it time-consuming, but it was also stupid, as the outlaws could just band together and attack them. Vale and his team were strong, but could they defeat an army of outlaws?
But what if he used another way? Take out the head, and the body would find it difficult to function.
So Tiber had been sent as a messenger to pass an indirect message. "I want to pass a message to your boss through you."
Lysa opened her mouth to say something, but she could only recoil when she saw who—no—what was now in front of her. She took a step back. "What the fuck is this?"
Tiber’s head had swelled and then peeled away into flat tentacles covered in eyes and mouths. His body grew flat like pressed paper and gained a shadowy, translucent luster.
One of the mouths in his head grunted, speaking in Tiber’s voice but with a whispering lilt. "Huh, so this is what that bastard was afraid of. This was his nightmare."
One of Tiber’s powers, one of his main techniques, was the ability to enter deep into someone’s slumber and fight their nightmare for them. Once he did this, he could capture the nightmare and digest it, gaining the power to manifest it and its corresponding abilities.
But its strength and power were heavily dependent on the nightmare, and each use weakened it until he had to find another nightmare to digest.
This one belonged to the assassin who had assaulted them a while ago.
"N...no!" Lysa repeated. The oppressive waves of terror aura coming from the monster in front of her made her grip her dagger tightly.
Tiber shot forward like a diving fish, his movement like a flitting leaf blown by the breeze. His tentacles reached forward, the different mouths opening wide, fangs gleaming.
Lysa shouted and poured her essence into her dagger, words of power dropping from her mouth. "Lines of death!"
Purple light gathered around her and formed into lines that shot forward, crawling on the ground and nearby trees. As soon as the lines left her proximity, they exploded, scattering more lines that caused additional explosions, tearing the ground and trees apart.
Yet from that explosion, another line shot forward, causing another outburst and raining dust and splinters.
That took a big chunk of her power, but it would alert the nearby guards. "You won’t escape this," she hissed.
"You’re right," a voice said behind her before a sheet of squirming flesh draped around her like a forbidden cloak.
