Bride of the Serpent King-Chapter 21: Cry baby Zaiyila (2)
Chapter 21 - Cry baby Zaiyila (2)
Everett was initially stunned, but he immediately grew panicked. "Darling, what's the matter? What did I do wrong?" he asked urgently.
Zaiyila hugged his neck and continued sobbing.
Everett was at a loss, racking his brain to figure out what he had done wrong but unable to pinpoint it.
"Eve, you told me before that you love me. Was it a lie?" she whispered.
Before Everett could reply, the car was parked in a good position, and the driver got out.
Everett looked at his little angel and smiled. "Every word I've spoken to my Queen is true. I've never lied to you, and I never will. I have never lied about my feelings for you either," he responded.
Zaiyila wiped her tears and sniffled. "Then is it my body that doesn't catch your attention?" she asked, staring deep into his eyes.
Everett could already guess where she was going with this. "That's not true," he replied with a sigh.
"Then... then why won't you have sex with me?" she blurted out, shocking Everett.
Even though he had already guessed this, he was still taken aback hearing it directly from her. "This must be the handiwork of that bastard human," he thought.
"My Lady, what are you saying? Didn't we—"
"I'm not talking about using your mouth or your fingers. I want this," Zaiyila interrupted before he could finish his statement, pointing at his pants.
Everett stared at Zaiyila in disbelief. "My Queen, who suddenly exposed you to things like this?" he questioned.
Zaiyila folded her arms and looked away. "If it was before, I could still try not to mind you having another wife, but now I can't," she thought, puffing up her cheeks. With this, her dimples were revealed, and she looked overwhelmingly cute, tempting Everett, though he forced himself to hold back.
"My Queen, please don't be angry anymore. I didn't want to break the last barrier because..." Everett paused.
Zaiyila looked at him, and her face became teary again. She bit her lower lip, got up from his lap, opened the car door, and stepped outside.
"My Queen!" Everett called out and immediately followed her.
"Don't follow me. I'll walk home by myself," Zaiyila huffed, folding her arms and speeding up.
Everett sighed. "Come here, Cletus."
Immediately, the man assigned as Zaiyila's bodyguard appeared in front of him, kneeling on one knee. "Your Majesty."
"That girl who's always sticking to my wife—get rid of her," he commanded coldly.
Cletus didn't respond immediately. "Your Majesty, the Queen has taken a liking to her," he reported.
"Damn!" Everett punched the car. "If this continues, she will eventually corrupt my wife's mind," he gritted his teeth. "She doesn't matter now. Take the car home," he ordered and vanished.
Cletus bowed and entered the car, along with the driver.
Zaiyila was walking along the road, repeatedly glancing back, but she saw no trace of Everett. Tears welled up in her eyes, threatening to fall.
"He doesn't care, yet he insists that he does. Shouldn't he at least run after me or something? If I say you should not follow me isn't it obvious that I don't mean it,yet he just abandon me. No worries. Once I get home, I won't talk to him and will even start eating food that's thirty minutes late. Hmph," she huffed, wiping her tears away.
"Yo, beauty... where are you going all alone?" Two men suddenly blocked her path, startling her.
She subconsciously took two steps back, only to bump into two more men behind her. "What... what are you doing?" she stammered, frightened.
"Haha, what a rare beauty. Did you escape from home? Don't worry, us, four brothers will give you a home," one of the men sneered.
"Don't... don't move closer. Please, I'm begging you, stay away," Zaiyila stammered, paralyzed with fear.
"Don't panic, beauty. We are very sincere," another man remarked, rubbing his hands together and stretching out to grab her—only for his entire hand to be suddenly severed. Fresh, hot blood splattered onto Zaiyila's face.
"Ah!" The man screamed in agony, and now, a cold-looking figure stood in front of Zaiyila.
"Eve!" Zaiyila cried happily, immediately hugging him from behind.
Everett's terrifying aura vanished instantly as he turned to Zaiyila, gently wiping the blood from her face. "Are you alright, my Queen?" His heart was filled with panic.
Zaiyila shook her head and smiled reassuringly.
"You... you murderer! You monster!" one of the men shrieked.
Everett turned to him, his eyes growing icy and glowing murderously.
The men were now so terrified that they couldn't think straight. "Let's... let's go, brothers!" one of them shouted in alarm, and they prepared to flee, only to realize they couldn't move. It was at that moment they recognized their doom.
"Please... please spare us! We won't say a word!" they all pleaded.
Everett's eyes glowed even more furiously, and suddenly, the pairs of four eyes shattered into pieces like glass, miraculously.
"Ah!" they all screamed as blood poured from their empty sockets.
"Please... please pardon us!" they wailed, but their cries were useless. Their hearts were suddenly ripped out, and the four lifeless bodies collapsed onto the ground.
Everett's aura calmed. He had just killed them with a mere gaze. Only then did he remember that Zaiyila was still behind him. "Damn, I messed up," he thought, turning around.
As expected, Zaiyila was staring at the corpses with a shocked expression, so stunned that she forgot to breathe or even blink.
"Darling, stop looking," Everett murmured, approaching her and covering her face before they both vanished.

Not long after their disappearance, black shadows engulfed the corpses. Within seconds, only dried skeletons remained.
Everett reappeared in his mansion, right in the bedroom, and gently sat Zaiyila on the bed. "Darling..." He was trying to find an excuse to ease her fear, but she suddenly burst into tears again.
Everett was at a loss. "Darling, please stop crying. It hurts me to see you like this," he murmured, wiping her tears away.
"I'm sorry... I was the one who got into trouble and dragged you into it. I won't do that again. I won't walk alone anymore. Please don't leave me," she sobbed, hugging him tightly.
Everett was surprised. He couldn't quite understand her state of mind, but he patted her back to console her.
"It's fine now, okay?" he reassured her.
Zaiyila nodded and wiped her tears. "Let me go take a bath first," she muttered, releasing him from the hug and immediately heading to the bathroom.
Everett smiled and glanced at the time. "Time for the conference call," he murmured, making his way downstairs.
