Born Into Villain's Family: I Have a 200\% Rebate System-Chapter 503: Humilation
David’s eyes lit up. "You truly have an incredible eye for investment," he praised.
She nodded, then asked casually,
"Have you ever considered entering the restaurant chain market? Do you know how much capital you’d need to dominate it?"
David answered immediately, eager to impress. "A few hundred million, if I plan to expand across towns, cities, and states."
Miss Dawn nodded again. "And how much liquid capital do you currently have?"
David hesitated before replying, "Sixty million dollars. But my company is valued at a hundred million, and it’s expected to reach three hundred million next year."
Miss Dawn nodded thoughtfully. "What a coincidence," she said lightly.
David blinked.
"The entire network your company is so proud of," she continued calmly, "is something I earned in just six months this year."
David’s face stiffened. Before he could respond, she went on, "As for this restaurant you’re sitting in... it belongs to one of my subordinates. I hear it generates an annual revenue of three hundred million dollars."
David’s eyes widened, not because of any crude language, but because of the familiarity. They were the exact same words he had thrown at Adriana not long ago, sharp and dismissive.
Regret flickered across his face before he could suppress it. ’Could it be...?’
A faint, terrifying suspicion crept into his mind. ’Is Adriana somehow connected to Miss Dawn?’
Before he could chase the thought any further, Miss Dawn confirmed his guess with chilling calm.
"Do you understand the difference between us?" Her voice was steady, almost gentle.
"It isn’t about a single word or attitude. It’s about position. You are a millionaire. I am a billionaire."
David’s heart thudded violently in his chest. He forced himself to breathe, pressing his lips together before responding in what he hoped sounded like a calm tone.
"I don’t understand what you’re talking about," he replied carefully. "You must be misunderstanding something."
Aurora chuckled softly, the sound light but dangerous. "Just yesterday," she said casually,
"I watched a clip where an older man said these exact words to a younger woman."
Her eyes curved with interest. "I was curious about how that man must have felt in that moment, so I decided to reenact it."
She tilted her head and looked straight at David. "So tell me, how do you feel now? I’d really like to know what that young woman must have felt."
David’s face stiffened. In that instant, he understood clearly that Miss Dawn was here for Adriana.
But one question refused to leave his mind. ’Why?’ Why would someone like Miss Dawn go to such lengths for Adriana?
Unable to hold it in any longer, he blurted out, "Are you related to Adriana?"
Miss Dawn, Aurora, didn’t even glance at him. Instead, she continued coolly, "What is your net worth?"
At that moment, David knew humiliation was inevitable. He shifted uncomfortably, preparing to stand up and leave, when Aurora’s cold voice cut through the room.
"You can walk out if you like," she said calmly. "But by tomorrow morning, the Richardson Corporation will be bankrupt."
The words slammed into him like a physical blow. David felt his legs go weak, his knees buckling as he collapsed back onto the sofa. Fear surged through him, raw and suffocating.
He knew she wasn’t bluffing. Someone like Aurora truly had the power to erase his company overnight. The fact that she even spoke of ’tomorrow’ meant she was already giving him face.
He looked up at her, desperation flooding his eyes. "I know I made a mistake," he pleaded hoarsely. "I shouldn’t have humiliated Adriana. I just didn’t know she was connected to you."
Aurora remained silent, her gaze unreadable.
David hurried on, "Now that I know Adriana is your subordinate, I swear I’ll never think of harming her again."
Aurora laughed, the sound low and mocking. After a moment, she reached up and removed her veil. As her face was fully revealed, David froze.
Shock crashed over him. He had investigated Adriana’s background thoroughly.
’How did I not recognize her?’ How did he not realize who Aurora was the moment he saw her?
Anger surged up in his chest, fueled by humiliation and panic. He jumped to his feet and pointed at her.
"Do you even know what you’re doing?" he snapped. "You’re impersonating Miss Dawn. I have every right to sue you!"
Aurora merely chuckled. She calmly took out her phone and dialed a number.
David frowned in confusion until his own phone rang. When he saw the caller ID, his body went rigid.
"Ms. Dawn... Verified."
His mind went blank. No words came.
Aurora placed her phone on the table and looked at him coolly. "How do you feel now?"
David couldn’t answer. What could he say in front of Miss Dawn herself?
He had assumed Adriana and Miss Dawn were merely connected in some distant way, that Adriana had complained, and Miss Dawn had come to stand up for her.
He never imagined that he had directly offended someone so close to her.
’I jumped straight into a fire pit,’ he thought bitterly.
Regret slammed into him all at once. He remembered every cruel word her daughter had spoken, calling Adriana a liability, saying she had no real supporters, forcing her to leave Peter.
’Who would have thought,’ he realized painfully, ’that I was pushing away a goldmine from my own son?’
Aurora glanced briefly in Peter’s direction before turning back to David with a faint smile. "Do you still have any questions?"
David swallowed hard. The arrogance he once carried had completely vanished. Aurora’s smile alone was enough to terrify him now.
"Shall we begin?" she asked lightly.
David sat down immediately. "I’m sorry," he said hurriedly. "I can apologize to Adriana. I’m even willing to compensate her."
Aurora smiled, but there was no warmth in it. "You only have one option," she replied calmly.
"Earn Adriana’s forgiveness." Her eyes hardened. "Otherwise, forget about the Richardson family. Every single one of them will be destroyed... except Peter."
David’s hands went cold.
"I still have debts to settle," Aurora continued. "You called my sister nouveau riche, didn’t you?"
David shook his head frantically. "No, no, I misunderstood... "
Aurora smiled faintly. "Good. If you hadn’t misunderstood, I wouldn’t have seen your true colors."
David’s face turned deathly pale.
Aurora leaned back slightly. "I want to know one more thing," she added. "Why was my sister unfit to enter a wealthy family?"
At the mention of Adriana, David fell silent. After a long pause, he gathered his courage. "The elite circle is cruel," he admitted quietly.
"I was afraid Adriana wouldn’t be able to stand against them. I thought breaking things apart would protect her." He looked down. "I truly believed I was doing what was best for her. I never intended to harm her."
Aurora nodded slowly, her expression calm yet unyielding.
"Your intentions might not have been entirely malicious," she said evenly, "but the way you presented them was wrong." Her gaze sharpened.
"I could bankrupt your entire family right now, so you wouldn’t have to suffer the agony when that day eventually comes on its own."
The ruthless tone of her words crushed whatever hope David still clung to. He understood clearly now... every attempt he had made had failed miserably.
Aurora’s voice turned colder. "Just now, you probably thought you were clever," she continued.
"You thought that by saying those things, you could dodge responsibility and walk away clean."
Her lips curved into a faint, disdainful smile. "But in reality, you were nothing more than foolish."
David shivered as her words pierced him.
"If my sister truly wanted to enter a wealthy family," Aurora went on calmly,
"I would make sure that every single elite individual respected her." She leaned forward slightly. "You are in no position to decide whether my sister is qualified to be with Peter or not."
Her eyes locked onto his. "I am the one who gave her that qualification," she said firmly. "And you, a mere millionaire, do not have the right to take it away."
Then, as if the conversation had suddenly shifted to something trivial, she glanced at him and asked lightly, "Would you like something to eat?"
Her tone hadn’t changed at all.
David froze, stunned, before shaking his head slowly. ’What kind of humiliation is she planning now?’ he wondered uneasily.
Aurora smiled knowingly. "Very smart," she remarked.
"If you had accepted my offer, I would have told you how your products could never compete with those of my subordinates."
David clenched his fists tightly.
"Are you feeling furious?" Aurora asked calmly.
When he remained silent, she laughed softly. "That’s exactly how my sister must have felt," she said.
"But you made sure she couldn’t leave." Her gaze darkened. "You personally broke her colorful wings. You made her cry for five hours."
Her voice dropped. "Do you know how you’re going to compensate for that?"
David swallowed hard. "What... what do I need to do to earn forgiveness?"
