Born Into Villain's Family: I Have a 200\% Rebate System-Chapter 475: Cliche Plot
Aurora stared blankly at the unfolding scenes. ’What kind of trope is this now?’
Before, Olivia had been portrayed as a two-faced schemer. Now... what exactly was she supposed to be?
Scratching her head, Aurora watched as the plot progressed.
In the story, Louis’s mother confronted Olivia directly. Her tone was cold, her words sharp, and her threat unmistakable.
"Leave my son," the woman declared. "If you refuse, I’ll make sure your entire family pays the price."
At first, Olivia fought back using her connections and influence. But gradually, she realized the terrifying truth... compared to Louis’s mother, she was nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Louis’s family was tied to the underground world.
With no way out, Olivia chose to give up. She broke things off with Louis.
But before they parted, they shared a single night together. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
As a result, Olivia became pregnant.
What followed made Aurora’s expression darken.
Louis’s mother secretly took action. Slowly and methodically, she ruined Olivia’s reputation, twisting facts until everyone believed Olivia was a shameless, two-faced woman.
The rumors spread like poison, corroding every relationship Olivia had.
To the point that even her own parents disowned her.
Aurora clenched her fists.
’Ridiculous,’ she thought coldly. ’My family would never do that.’
She knew her family better than anyone. Even if one of them committed murder, the rest would still stand together. Abandonment was not something they were capable of.
Yet the novel continued mercilessly.
Olivia was tortured endlessly by life. When she finally encountered Louis again, he was already engaged. Crushed and exhausted, she died shortly afterward.
But the story didn’t end there.
Years later, Olivia’s and Louis’s child appeared and confronted him. After yet another round of emotional torment, Louis finally realized the truth: the child was his.
What shocked him even more was learning why Olivia had broken up with him.
Fury consumed him as he turned on his mother.
The truth came out. He never had a fiancée.
He had only said those words to hurt Olivia, to make her feel the same pain he felt when she left him.
Aurora stared at the vision, utterly speechless.
The absurdity reached its peak.
"So... he lied," she murmured in disbelief. ’He lied, destroyed her life, and this is supposed to be... romantic?’
Her eyes hardened.
’If this is the kind of male lead fate has in store,’ she thought grimly, ’then I’m stepping in again.’
If Louis truly turned out to be that kind of cruel, cold-hearted man, then he didn’t deserve Olivia at all.
But the thought barely formed before Aurora paused.
She remembered something important... something she had learned the hard way.
In the original plots, the story had repeatedly twisted her parents, her siblings, and even herself into villains.
Again and again, the narrative pushed blame onto them, no matter how unreasonable it was. That realization made one thing painfully clear.
’It’s always easy to judge from the outside,’ she thought, her expression growing thoughtful, ’until you’re forced to stand in their place.’
With that in mind, Aurora decided she wouldn’t jump to conclusions this time.
Before labeling Louis as another irredeemable male lead, she would test him herself. Only then would she decide whether he was worth helping or worth crushing.
After all, if he turned out to be another Nick, then there would be no need for hesitation. A blind fool elevated by plot armor didn’t deserve mercy.
But if Louis’s flaws were hidden, buried beneath the story’s manipulation, then she needed to see them with her own eyes.
’I’ll test him first,’ she concluded.
With that decision made, she waited.
Later that evening, when her siblings returned home, Aurora headed straight toward Olivia’s room.
She knocked lightly. A moment later, the door opened, and Olivia appeared with a gentle smile, one brow arching in mild curiosity.
"What do you need this time?" Olivia teased, leaning against the doorframe.
Aurora chuckled. "Wow. You make it sound like I only come to you when I want something."
Olivia rolled her eyes dramatically and began counting on her fingers.
"Let’s see. First grade, when you wanted me to cover for you after breaking the classroom window. Third grade, when you forged my signature on your test paper. Fifth grade, when you begged me to sign another test paper after you scored a perfect zero."
Aurora’s face flushed bright red.
"That was ancient history," she protested, pointing accusingly at Olivia. "You are not allowed to bring up my dark past."
Olivia laughed, clearly enjoying herself.
Aurora puffed out her chest stubbornly. "I’m completely different now. With my talent, I could skip high school entirely and get into university directly."
Olivia burst out laughing. "Sure, sure. And yet, all that brilliance completely disappears the moment you step into the kitchen."
Aurora froze. The room fell silent.
Then she calmly looked at Olivia and replied, "If that’s the case, then let’s test you academically."
Olivia scoffed. "Please. I rank first in my department."
Aurora smiled faintly. "I’m not talking about university subjects. I mean history."
Olivia straightened immediately, confidence radiating from her posture. "My history is excellent."
Without hesitation, Aurora threw out a historical question.
"Who was the first president of New York City?"
"Barack Obama!" Olivia answered instantly, confidently, and completely wrong.
Aurora stared at her in stunned silence.
After a brief pause, she corrected Olivia.
"Sister... it was George Washington!"
The moment Olivia realized her mistake, her lips pressed together before she muttered, "That was... an error."
Aurora laughed softly. "An error? That was a disaster. If that historian heard you butcher his name, he’d roll over in his grave."
Olivia pouted. "If you came here just to insult me..."
"I didn’t," Aurora interrupted, rolling her eyes. "I came because I want to meet Louis."
Olivia frowned. "Why do you want to meet him?"
"It’s personal," Aurora replied evenly.
Olivia studied her for a moment, then sighed. "I’ll see what I can do."
Aurora paused, noticing Olivia’s expression. It looked almost like she was doing Aurora a favor.
Her lips pressed together. A sudden unease settled in her chest.
’What if one day I’m not here?’ the thought crept in uninvited. ’What if the plot kills me off?’
Who would protect her siblings then? The question had haunted her more than once.
Her gaze darkened slightly before clarity struck.
’I need to prepare for that possibility.’
She needed to create a hidden safety net, an emergency fund, resources, contingencies, so that even if the plot turned vicious, her siblings would still be able to live well.
Lost in thought, she barely noticed Olivia reaching out and gently holding her hand.
"Aurora," Olivia said softly, concern flickering in her eyes. "Is there something you want to tell me?"
Aurora blinked. "Why are you asking that?"
Olivia studied her face closely. "You look like you’re fighting a battle with yourself. You’re pale... like you’re thinking about something really heavy."
Aurora chuckled lightly. "I was just thinking about the future. About what would happen if I weren’t in this world anymore..."
She didn’t get to finish.
In the next second, Aurora was yanked downward, and a hand clamped firmly over her mouth.
Olivia glared at her fiercely, eyes blazing. "If you dare finish that sentence, I swear I’ll bite you."
Aurora’s eyes widened in shock. She tried to point at Olivia with a trembling hand, muffled words spilling uselessly against Olivia’s palm.
"You still worry like an old cow," Aurora attempted to say. "An old, fat cow..."
Olivia’s grip tightened.
"Try it," Olivia threatened calmly.
Aurora sighed in quiet defeat and decided not to continue down that dangerous line of words.
As if sensing her retreat, Olivia slowly withdrew her hand and fixed Aurora with a stern, unyielding gaze. Her voice was low, sharp with restrained emotion.
"If you ever say something like that again," she warned, "I’ll make sure you regret it."
Aurora let out another soft sigh and nodded obediently.
Only when Olivia finally removed her hand from Aurora’s mouth did Aurora glance up at her and mutter lightly, "You worry like an old person, you know."
Olivia didn’t respond.
She turned around and walked back to her room, slamming the door behind her with enough force to rattle the hallway walls.
The sound alone conveyed how deeply displeased she was.
Aurora stood there for several seconds, staring at the closed door. The lingering echo pressed against her chest before she finally turned and headed back to her own room.
Once inside, she settled onto her chair and let her thoughts drift toward her rebate system.
’With this,’ she reasoned calmly, ’as long as I keep setting aside emergency funds, they’ll never truly be cornered.’
She didn’t hesitate.
Pulling up several secure investment channels backed by powerful investors, Aurora quietly opened funds under her parents’ and siblings’ names.
When she finished, nearly five hundred million dollars had been allocated, more than enough to sustain her family even if the worst possible scenario ever came true.
