Chapter 459: Chapter 459: Abby’s Plan

Hans glared at her.

"And now you’re mocking me? You stood aside the whole time and now act high and mighty? Do you just attack first so no one attacks you? "

Abby smiled faintly. She bent slightly and slapped him hard across the face.

Hans stared at her, stunned, ready to strike back when she sharply lifted her chin and declared,

"Go ahead. Hit me. I’ll walk straight to the police and tell them how you, your father, and your grandmother blackmailed Adam illegally."

Hans’s whole body stiffened.

Abby stepped closer, her voice dropping.

"You fool. You should have expected retaliation. Did you think you could blackmail someone without them investigating? Do you really think the other side is weaker than you? "

Hans’s eyes widened slowly as realization dawned. "Those people... were hired by my uncle? "

Abby crossed her arms and smirked. "You’re not as stupid as you look."

Hans’s mouth hung open as the truth settled into his bones like ice.

He had thought Adam was soft, harmless, a rabbit.

Yet today, he discovered that rabbits could bite hard enough to tear flesh.

Hans stared at Abby with eyes that shone too brightly, almost feverish with newfound fear and desperation.

His breath trembled slightly as if the realization of his uncle’s retaliation had shaken the very foundation of his confidence.

"What... what should I do? " he whispered urgently, leaning closer to her as though her words alone could shield him from danger.

Until this moment, the thought that Adam might be behind the attack had never crossed his mind.

But Abby’s casual observation now felt like a bolt of clarity.

The logic wrapped around him like an icy hand.

"It really was him, wasn’t it? When we left the restaurant that day... Uncle looked like he was about to snap. Of course, he would retaliate now..."

His voice faltered. Panic slid down his spine like chilled water.

He looked at Abby again, almost clinging to her presence. ’She’s smarter than me. She always has been. She’ll know what to do...’

Abby watched him with a soft smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes.

"First of all, you need to make sure you don’t leave any loose ends. If you owe money to anyone, especially dangerous people, you need to repay it immediately."

Hans blinked rapidly, his expression tightening. "Repay? With what? Where am I supposed to get the money? "

Though he sounded clueless, he was in fact hoping that Abby would step up and act like a considerate woman. Wasn’t that how other shows and TV serial shows were?

He waited, looking at Abby expectantly, but he was destined to be disappointed.

Abby shrugged delicately, the movement smooth and cold.

"I don’t know. But I do know something important: as long as you owe dangerous people money, they will knock on your door again. They won’t stop, not until you break down and start begging for mercy. And honestly? That sounds exactly like something Adam would want. Maybe he plans to torture you slowly. Maybe he already took action against the others, too."

A tremor passed through Hans’s shoulders. He lowered his head, the dim casino lights reflecting off the sweat collecting on his forehead.

Abby’s words entered his ears like shards of glass.

If Adam truly wanted to punish him, then the past would rise against him like a tide. He had wronged many. He had borrowed from many. He had scammed many.

He had never cared because he believed he would never be found.

But now?

Now he had a powerful, intelligent enemy, the kind of enemy who could shine a light on every dark corner of his life.

"What about the money? "Hans," muttered desperately. "Where am I supposed to get enough to pay off everything? "

Abby’s smile shifted, slow and poisonous, blooming like a night flower that thrived in darkness.

"Call your grandmother. Or steal. I honestly don’t care. If you become too much trouble, Hans, I won’t hesitate to walk away from you."

’If you are dumb enough to think that I will lend you, then you will know what ruthlessness is, Hans.’ She thought with a face devoid of any expression.

A cold shiver crawled up Hans’s spine. He swallowed hard.

Abby tilted her head slightly, her tone turning almost mocking.

"Without my brain, you would already be crushed under your uncle’s feet. So it would be better if you listened to me."

Hans nodded rapidly, like a frightened bird pecking at seeds. "I’ll listen. I’ll listen to everything."

This time, he truly abandoned any thoughts of borrowing money from Abby.

"That’s good," Abby said with a satisfied smirk.

"Once you’ve cleared all the traps your past has set for you, the next step will be confronting Adam. At that time, take a recorder with you. Record everything, then edit it maliciously."

Hans blinked at her, his mind slowly catching up. "So, after editing it, can I upload it online? Or... blackmail him again? "

Abby let out a soft, disappointed chuckle.

"Hans, even with the weapon I’m literally handing you, you still manage to sound stupid."

Her disdainful words stabbed at Hans’s heart, and he couldn’t help but growl, which was ignored by Abby.

He may have thought that he growled like a tiger when in reality he sounded like a dog.

She shook her head. "No. You send the recordings to Adam’s shareholders or business partners."

Hans’s confusion deepened. "Shareholders? Business partners? Why? "

Abby’s calm tone contrasted sharply with the venom in her words.

"At first, they might ignore it. But if you keep sending more, each one carefully edited to portray Adam as ungrateful and dangerous, they will feel threatened. They will start doubting him. They might even question his leadership. That turbulence will shake his company."

Hans frowned, dissatisfied. "But what benefit do I get from Adam’s company falling into turmoil? This sounds useless."

Abby stared at him for several seconds, her expression slowly flattening with disbelief.

"Sometimes I genuinely wonder whether I was blind not to see what an idiot you were or whether you’re getting stupider by the day."

She exhaled sharply and continued,

"When Adam’s company destabilizes, you don’t approach Adam. You approach his wife or his children. You tell them that Adam is being attacked. You make them feel guilty and responsible. They will scramble to fix the issue. And people who panic often throw money at problems."

Hans narrowed his eyes. "But they won’t have much money. Compared to Adam, they’re just nobodies with pocket change."

"Pocket change," Abby repeated slowly, amusement curling like smoke around her words. "Hans, have you not even investigated them? "

Hans stiffened. His silence answered her.

Abby sighed and crossed her arms. "Fine. I did the research. Lucas has already started a company. If everything goes well, he might reach a valuation of one million by next year."

Hans’s eyes widened with surprise.

"Olivia owns a studio," Abby continued. "It was gifted to her by her sister. The location is excellent, prime real estate. It is worth at least two million dollars, maybe five."

Hans’s jaw dropped slightly.

"And Aurora," Abby said, lowering her voice. "She is the strangest of them all. From the way she lives, spends, and moves... she is extremely rich. Her godmother gave her the Harmony Mall."

Hans’s breath stopped.

If someone owned Harmony Mall, that alone meant half a million to a million dollars monthly in revenue.

Even if the mall shut down tomorrow, Aurora could earn at least two million annually from leasing it out.

Greed began to shine in Hans’s eyes like molten metal.

Abby wasn’t finished.

"Aurora also has side businesses. I don’t know what they are yet, but I know one thing: she is the richest among the siblings. Then there’s Adriana. She seems ordinary, but she has a hundred thousand dollars saved. Theodore is practically a celebrity. He must be earning well too."

Hans nodded slowly, greed curling deep inside him like a dragon awakening.

Abby smiled sweetly. "If we play this correctly, we might earn ten million."

Hans looked at her with open admiration. "You’re the smartest woman I’ve ever met."

She rolled her eyes. "I don’t want flattery. I want half the money. Considering I’m doing most of the planning."

Hans’s expression twisted. "Half? "

Abby leaned closer, her tone suddenly calm and cold. "If you don’t give me half, I’ll let your uncle slaughter you. And frankly, he’s far better than you."

Hans froze, torn between fear and indignation.

As Abby walked away, he clenched his fists. But when she reached the doorway, he panicked and shouted, "Fine! I agree! "

Abby smiled to herself, her lips curling like a vine wrapping around prey. "Good. The plans begin now.’

But the truth she hid deep inside her heart was very different.

She has plans for the future... way more than what she had told Hans. Her plan did not include Hans at all.

She intended to take all the money, build her business in another country, and one day return, not to apologize but to repay the Waters family as a final act of severing ties, before turning toward the people who had destroyed her life.
