[BL]The Hero and his Party Won't Let Me Go-Chapter 83: Ch : Back to Imperial Palace
"My lady, congratulations. Itβs a boy. Would you like to hold him?" ππ³ππππ¦π£π―β΄π£π¦π.π€ππ
The midwife asked Sera, but she sounded a little worried. Sera did not care for her worries and quickly reached for the child.
Finally, it was out of her body, and she would be able to go back to normal. And Prince Kaiden would be attracted to her once more...
"T-This child... he..."
Sera flinched as she looked at the child. His face looked like hers, but he had brown hair and brown eyes. He looked neither like anyone from her family ancestry nor the crown prince.
If so, then... who was this child...? Surely not hers...
"Lady, your child. What should we name him...?"
The midwife asked, and Sera immediately flinched and recoiled.
"That child is not mine. My child must have either black hair or silver hair. W-Where is my childβ! Where is itβ! I will not accept this... I-I know. I must have lost the child, so you brought another one to trick me... get me my child..."
Sera yelled, not wanting to even hold her child. She refused to believe the midwives.
They did not know what to do with her anymore, but they did feel bad for the baby, who might belong to Prince Kaiden.
"Lady, calm down..."
"Sera, what is going on here?"
Her father finally entered, and Sera let out a sigh of relief.
"F-Father, you are finally here. Get that thing away from me and get me my child..."
Sera yelled, and her father sighed before he walked over to the crib where her son was. As soon as he saw the child, Count Diltz sighed.
"You all are free to leave now."
He told the midwives, knowing fully well that they would not make it too far without losing their lives.
He picked up the child and walked toward Sera. He looked her dead in the eye and spoke.
"Sera, calm down and listen to me. This child is yours. There is no doubt about it. It belongs to you and the crown prince. He just... looks like you."
Sera paused, her eyes going wide.
"What do you mean? Do you not see the hair and eye color of this child? He looks nothing like me...?"
She asked in a trembling voice.
Count Diltz almost wanted to tell her the truth, but he sighed and decided not to. Sera was too clumsy to be told anything.
"Sometimes, children have different eyes and hair color at birth, but it changes. Do you not recall your own self? You used to look different as well."
As soon as Sera heard it, she paused.
"Y-You are right. I... my child is mine and Prince Kaidenβs. Please give him to me. Oh, my poor child. Mommy is sorry. I will not abandon you again."
Lady Sera promised as she held the child close, and at an uncomfortable angle.
The child was clearly uncomfortable, and she was not being gentle with him.
"Sera, give the child here. Both you and the child need rest. The High Priest will be coming here to take care of the child soon. So you just need to rest."
Count Diltz reminded her, and Sera nodded. She fell asleep, her exhaustion finally catching up to her. But the count remained with the child and sighed.
He had a feeling that Prince Kaiden would realize that this child was not his. That was why this child needed to be kept separated for as long as possible.
"I will need Sera to distract Prince Kaiden and pressure him to marry her before we can present the child. Only then will this child be safe..."
Count Diltz quickly gave the child the potion, and his features changed. His hair turned white, and his eyes turned red.
He looked like a blend between the crown prince and Sera now. But he still did not have the same aura the imperial family had. And that was why the High Priest was neededβto create that aura artificially.
Thankfully, he arrived in no time, and the most urgent matter was taken care of.
"This child..."
The High Priest spoke softly, but Count Diltz quickly assured him.
"I will keep this child in a secure part of the imperial palace."
He promised. But the very next day, he was driven out because Prince Kaiden needed him to do something. The maids were not sure what they should do. They had not gotten any instructions regarding the child, and Lady Sera seemed uninterested in her own son most of the time.
As for Prince Kaiden, he had yet to come and meet the child...
For a prince, the poor newborn was in a dangerous situation, and again, most rumors started to appear regarding the child.
"You donβt have to do this. You donβt have to go back. Your child is still young, and..."
"I know. It has only been a week, and I should wait a little longer. But I... feel like I should go now. If Prince Kaiden is aware of Caelisβs birth and presence, then I feel like I should let them meet at least once."
Shuu spoke softly to Nero.
Nero had arrived not too long ago and told Shuu the truth about what was going on. He did not tell Shuu everything, but just enough for him to get an idea of what he wanted to do.
And as expected, Shuu decided to head back. He was also aware of Prince Kaidenβs temperament and did not want to risk pushing him too much.
"Alright. If this is what you have decided, then I wonβt question you much. We can leave for the capital tomorrow."
That was what Nero told him, and Shuu agreed. They got into the carriage and soon reached the imperial palace.
Tension was high in the palace, and Prince Kaidenβs presence startled Shuu. He wanted to head back, but he knew he needed to be brave and face the truth.
So, with his son in his arms, Shuu got off the carriage. And Prince Kaiden was immediately there, offering Shuu his hand to help him down.
"Welcome back, Shuu. I hope you had a fun time without me."
Prince Kaidenβs words were soft, but Shuu felt a shiver go down his spine as he heard them. But he could only clutch the bundle in his arms and pretend he did not notice the intense stares he was getting from everyone.
"I...no, we are back."
Shuu declared softly and Lady Sera immediately stepped forward to step by Prince Kaidenβs side.
Her eyes looked at the bundle in Shuuβs arms with a curious look.
"Whatβs that...?"
She asked, pointing at Caelis and Shuu tensed up.
