Chapter 565: Chapter 486: Do I Look Like a Dinosaur? (Third Update)

Yi Luowa emerged from the blankets, "Your health hasn’t recovered yet, can you handle pulling an all-nighter?"

"It’s fine, you should go to bed early."

Yi Luowa saw him about to leave and quickly asked, "Do you need my help?"

"No need. If everything goes smoothly, I might not even have to stay up." Tong Airui smiled, pushed open the door, and walked out.

Yi Luowa sighed and lay back down.

The next morning, when Yi Luowa woke up, Tong Airui wasn’t by her side. She reached out to touch the bed beside her, and it was cold.

That’s the sign of a sleepless night!

Yi Luowa quickly tidied herself up and ran upstairs to the third floor. As soon as she arrived at the door, she heard Tong Airui’s voice.

"Go pack up, we leave in fifteen minutes."

"Yes!" A faint voice responded from inside the room.

A mission! Yi Luowa’s hand, which was just raised to knock, fell limply back down.

Youyou pushed the door open and walked out, smiling brightly, "Sis, I’m heading out with Fourth Brother for a mission."

Yi Luowa forced a smile, "Be careful when you’re out!"

"Sis, don’t worry. I’ll take care of Fourth Brother for you."

Yi Luowa was amused by her and said, "I’m worried about you!"

"I’ll take care of Youyou for you," Tong Airui said, walking out with a smile. "Go back to the bedroom and help me pack some clothes."

"Alright." Yi Luowa reluctantly looked at Youyou, then followed Tong Airui back to the bedroom.

"Darling, pack some summer clothes for me. Not too many, if everything goes well, I’ll be back in three days."

Yi Luowa opened the wardrobe and pulled out a small suitcase, "Is this mission more difficult than usual?"

"How did you know?"

"You wouldn’t bring Youyou along if it weren’t challenging."

"It’s a bit tricky." Tong Airui opened the safe and pulled out two miniature pistols.

Yi Luowa glanced at him, "Take good care of yourself. Only if you’re okay will Youyou be safer."

"I will!" Tong Airui placed the pistols into the suitcase, then gave Yi Luowa’s shoulder a gentle squeeze, saying, "While I’m gone, don’t go to work. If anyone asks, tell them I’m still ill and you’re staying home to take care of me."

Yi Luowa was startled, "When you leave, do Muta Dada and Dad know?"

"They know. They’re the only ones who know what I’m doing." Tong Airui leaned down and kissed her forehead, "Forgive me for not being able to share certain things with you yet."

"If you don’t want to tell me, I won’t ask." Yi Luowa stood on tiptoe and gave him a light kiss at the corner of his lips, "The kids and I will wait for you to come back."

"Alright." Tong Airui smiled affectionately, "You finish packing while I go check on the others. Once time’s up, I have to leave."

Yi Luowa nodded, troubled, and watched him leave before starting to pack his clothes.

Once the clothes were packed, she placed the suitcase by the door. Just as she was about to head out, Youyou burst in.

"Sis, Mi Chenxuan is still on a mission. I didn’t tell him I’m heading out because I don’t want him to worry. When he gets back, can you let him know for me?"

"Sure, I’ll tell him for you." Yi Luowa smiled and patted her on the cheek.

Youyou chuckled, "Fourth Brother says I’ll get to see Ling on this mission! Sis, feel my heart—it’s pounding just thinking about it!"

Youyou grabbed Yi Luowa’s hand and placed it on her chest.

Yi Luowa froze, "Ling has become one of your members now?" 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

"Yeah, I was the one who called her. She agreed..." Youyou’s words abruptly stopped.

Yi Luowa smiled, "Whatever you said, I didn’t hear a thing."

"Good, good... I almost slipped up. Sis, don’t tell Fourth Brother, okay? He’d definitely scold me."

"I won’t say anything." Yi Luowa chuckled as she looked at her, "Did you finish packing your luggage?"

"All packed. Just waiting for Fourth Brother."

"Listen to Fourth Brother once you’re out. After all, he’s older and knows more than us."

Youyou made an OK sign, then pulled open the door to peek outside, "Sis, time’s almost up. I’m going back to grab my luggage."

Yi Luowa grabbed Youyou just before she stepped out, "Be extra careful!"

"Alright."

Five minutes later, Tong Airui left the Duke’s mansion with Youyou. Yan Zi watched as her nephew and daughter-in-law departed, then suspiciously turned to Long Che, "Brother, where are those two going?"

"Youyou didn’t tell you?"

"She just said there’s a mission. I didn’t believe her—what kind of mission could she have?"

"She wasn’t lying. She really went on a mission. Youyou’s always wanted to join Shenying. She pestered Rui’er so much that he finally let her become an auxiliary team member. When the missions aren’t too dangerous, he takes her out to broaden her experience."

"Auxiliary team member, that’s a novel term." Yan Zi smiled wryly, "Does Xuanxuan know?"

"Xuanxuan knows. The two of them even teamed up to complete a few smaller missions together." Long Che tried to downplay the danger level—after all, is there ever a minor mission when Youyou’s involved?

"Yan Zi, you can’t let this information get out. If people find out, they’ll accuse Rui’er of abusing his authority. And then there’s Ni Lu—if she discovers Youyou is on a mission, she won’t sleep from worry."

"Alright, I won’t say anything."

Yi Luowa listened to her father and aunt, lowering her gaze to look at the baby in her arms. She already had a hunch that this was no ordinary mission. Otherwise, Tong Airui wouldn’t personally take part and bring along Youyou and Ling.

You and Ling. Youling—ghost! Yi Luowa lightly pressed her lips together; Youyou’s mentor sure had a knack for naming people.

As Yi Luowa let her thoughts run wild, Jimo Shanshan’s call came through.

"Fourth Sister-in-law, the patient woke up, but it’s like he didn’t wake up at all!" Jimo Shanshan’s voice was full of frustration.

Yi Luowa’s already restless heart surged further.

"What’s wrong?"

"He’s completely unresponsive! I’m at my limit. Can you come take a look?"

"Can you wait a bit? Sangyu and Ziyan aren’t asleep yet."

"Not urgent."

Today, it seemed as if Sangyu and Ziyan were set on testing Yi Luowa’s patience. Normally asleep by nine, they still hadn’t dozed off by ten.

And as if not sleeping wasn’t enough, the two little ones clung tightly to Yi Luowa’s clothes, refusing to let go.

Yi Luowa had no choice but to continue waiting them out. Only nearing midday did the two finally fall asleep. Yi Luowa informed Tong Yao and headed to the hospital.

Jimo Shanshan saw her arrive and leisurely handed her a medical record.

Yi Luowa scanned through it at lightning speed.

Jimo Shanshan muttered from the side, "We checked his brain—no issues. But he’s completely blank when questioned."

"Could it be transient amnesia? There is such a condition, right?"

"Doesn’t quite fit. I keep feeling like he’s toying with me."

"Let me take a look." Yi Luowa placed the medical record down and followed Jimo Shanshan into the hospital room.

On the bed, the young man froze at the sight of Yi Luowa.

"Do I look like a dinosaur or something?" Yi Luowa teased as she walked closer.

The young man’s eyes carried hints of amusement and curiosity as he studied her while listening to her words.

"What’s your name? Can you tell me?" Yi Luowa pulled over a chair and sat down.

"Boss!"

Yi Luowa froze, "Boss?"

"Yeah! Boss!" The young man grinned and nodded.

Yi Luowa couldn’t help but laugh, "Boss, where are your family members?"

The young man shrugged, "Don’t remember."

"Cheeky!" Though she knew he wasn’t honest, Yi Luowa found herself unable to be angry. Instead, she thought he was irresistibly cute. Looking at his pale yet handsome face, a deep-seated urge to protect him took root within her.

"If you don’t remember your family, can you recall where you came from?"

The young man stared at Yi Luowa intently, then pondered seriously, "I just remember flying on a plane for a long time before arriving here."

Yi Luowa raised an eyebrow slightly, "Seems like our conversation is over."

The young man’s expression tensed, "You’re leaving?"

Yi Luowa pouted, "If I don’t leave, will you treat me to lunch?"

The young man mimicked her pout, "I can afford to treat you to lunch."

Yi Luowa looked at his demeanor and sighed with a smile, "If you don’t want to talk to me, I won’t press you. But later, you should call your family—they must be worried about you."

"Can’t. If they find out where I am, they’ll drag me back." The young man pursed his lips and lifted the blanket to get out of bed, "I’ll take you to lunch."

When he got up, his body noticeably swayed, and Yi Luowa quickly reached out to steady him, "You’re not well. Better not go out. Tell me what you want to eat—I’ll bring it back for you."

The young man’s gaze slowly shifted toward her hand.

His eyes were calm, seemingly trying to hide something, but his body betrayed him. Yi Luowa could already feel his slight trembling.

Yi Luowa quickly let go, "Don’t be upset. I won’t touch you again."
