Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 542 - 464: Third Watch
The next day, Fourth Brother headed out energetic and refreshed.
Fifth Brother, however, was like a wilted eggplant, devoid of spirit.
The two brothers exchanged glances, and Fourth Brother chuckled, "Endure for peace and quiet, but alas, brother..."
Tong Airui stopped mid-sentence when he saw Connie come out. He quickly shut his mouth and went to the nursery.
The two little ones had just been sent over from their grandmother’s place. Full and content, they were swinging their little arms, giggling and "chatting."
Seeing Dad, Uncle, and Auntie enter, Sangyu fluttered her long eyelashes, staring at them without blinking.
Ziyan let out a soft grunt, grabbed his sister’s hand, and began pulling her forcefully toward himself with all his might.
Sangyu looked at her brother with a hint of displeasure, yanked her hand free, and turned her head to look at Dad.
Tong Airui leaned down to look at the two of them, so fond of them that he couldn’t help himself.
Connie, watching the two little cuties, smiled and said, "Haven’t seen them for a month, and they’ve grown quite a lot!"
"And they’re getting even more beautiful!"
Tong Aino spoke while reaching out to touch Sangyu’s little cheeks, but Tong Airui smacked his hand away without hesitation.
"Go make your own kids, don’t touch my daughter!"
"Then can I touch your son?"
"Neither of them is allowed to be touched!" Tong Airui glared at him.
Tong Aino shot a glance at his wife, "I’d love to have kids, but I haven’t been given the opportunity to sow the seeds..."
Connie’s face instantly turned tomato red. She gave him a flirty glare and walked out the door.
Tong Aino sighed, "Bro, Mom’s worried I’ve got some kind of problem and wants me to go to the hospital and get checked. What do you think? Should I go?"
Tong Airui glanced at his younger brother. "Going for a check-up wouldn’t hurt. If you’re fine, that’s great. If there’s an issue, treat it quickly, don’t delay."
"With how I am, do you think I could have any kind of problem?" Tong Aino shook his head helplessly. "Maybe there really is an issue. Connie and I have been trying for months, but there’s been no progress."
"Stop overthinking. Schedule a time with Old Seven and go find out for yourself," Tong Airui said as he carefully picked up his daughter, cradling her in his hands and gently rocking her.
Ziyan was long used to this treatment. He glanced at his dad and little sister and started chomping on his own little hand for entertainment.
"Bro, let me hold Ziyan for a bit, won’t you? Just look at him; he’s so pitiful," Tong Aino pleaded lowly with Tong Airui.
"I’m not stopping you from holding him; it’s just that Dad’s coming soon. If he sees, he’ll definitely scold you."
"Just one quick hold; Dad won’t see." Tong Aino glanced back at the door and reached out to pick up Ziyan.
Tong Airui noticed that his holding posture seemed decent, so he didn’t say anything.
"Bro, I only found out something happened at home after coming back, but no one explained it to me properly. I looked it up online and didn’t find any news about my sister-in-law. Did you handle it?"
"When my wife and I got engaged, there was some trouble. Ever since then, I had all reports about her deleted. Now, any news about her can’t even get uploaded."
"Then tell me, what exactly happened?"
"Put the kid down and talk about it outside!" Long Che said, walking in with a dour expression.
Tong Aino quickly put the child down and headed out quietly.
Tong Airui reluctantly handed his daughter to his father. "She’s having fun right now. If I put her down, she’ll definitely cry." 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
Long Che looked at his granddaughter, his face instantly lighting up with a smile. "Grandpa’s holding her! Our little Sangyu never cries with Grandpa!"
Tong Airui’s mouth twitched slightly, and he quickly walked out the door.
The two brothers went downstairs, where Tong Airui briefly recounted the events of the last few days to his younger brother.
Tong Aino smacked his lips. "My sister-in-law’s guts could dry out and still be bigger than a pumpkin!"
"She wasn’t too scared, but I was terrified. Thankfully, the person wasn’t normal; she spotted their weakness and handled it smoothly without any effort."
"No matter what, as long as it’s fine now." Tong Aino stood up. "Bro, I’m going to call Old Seven."
"Go ahead."
Tong Airui watched his younger brother head toward the balcony, silently praying that Fifth Brother didn’t have any problems.
Yi Luowa was woken up by Joyina in the morning. Today was about experiencing life, and Joyina was practically exhilarated, waking not only Yi Luowa but also You.
After the two sisters got up, they nearly wanted to swallow Joyina alive.
"You’re the one wanting to experience life—why are you bothering me?" You puffed her cheeks and pinned Joyina down under her.
"Taking you with me! The three of us together would be more fun."
"You think Godhawk is some preschool?" Yi Luowa deliberately messed up Joyina’s freshly done hair before standing up.
You let out a "hmph." "Exactly. I’m only a substitute team member. Kou’er is back now, so I can’t always stick by my sister. Otherwise, it wouldn’t look good. How do you not know this much common sense? Instead, you want to experience some nonsense? I think you’re just here to mess around!"
"She’s not messing around. She’s here to ogle the young hunks."
Joyina struggled to crawl out from under You. "Haha...! I do love staring at those young hunks. How could I not? They’re walking hormones! Especially when they practice free combat on the field, in those camo vests—those muscles, those arms, those chests..."
You glanced at her room door and grinned mischievously. "Do you start feeling your blood rushing, your pulse racing? Do you get uncontrollably tempted to pounce on them and take a bite?"
"How’d you know?" Joyina playfully slapped You’s cheek. "Do you feel the same way?"
"I don’t. My heart and eyes are all about Mi Chenxuan. Not like you—always saying one thing while thinking another."
"Joyina, come out for a moment," Mi Chenshuo, who had been eavesdropping outside the door, finally couldn’t hold back. With a sullen face, he gestured toward Joyina.
Joyina’s face instantly changed color. She nervously shuffled out the door.
You heard the door shut behind them and burst out laughing. "Serves her right for ruining my sweet dreams today! Third Brother is definitely going to give her a proper scolding!"
Yi Luowa laughed and poked her forehead. "You’re such a troublemaker! I’m going to check on the baby. You keep sleeping."
You flopped onto the bed face-down. "Sis, Auntie let me hold the baby these past few days, but she said I couldn’t hold the baby when Uncle’s home."
"Mm, just be cautious and don’t upset your uncle," Yi Luowa said as she pulled the blanket over her, then left the room.
Passing by Mi Chenshuo’s room, Yi Luowa heard a banging sound from inside.
Could they be fighting?
Yi Luowa froze and stopped in her tracks.
The banging noise grew faster, even making the door vibrate, along with muffled groans from Joyina.
Suddenly, the world inside went quiet, as if what Yi Luowa just heard had been her imagination.
"Give it to me..."
"Still planning to ogle those walking hormones?"
"Not anymore! Give it to me~"
"If you dare again, I’ll make sure you can’t get out of bed for a month!"
Yi Luowa nearly burst out laughing. She covered her mouth and sprinted downstairs.
Tong Airui was just on his way upstairs to wake Yi Luowa, but seeing her running down with a smile, he asked suspiciously, "Found a treasure this early in the morning?"
Yi Luowa scanned the area, leaned in close to whisper something in his ear.
Tong Airui suppressed a laugh and pulled her into the dining room.
Although Joyina had said she and Ke Jingran were here to experience life, the reality was quite different—besides the two of them, Mi Chenshuo tagged along.
Mi Chenshuo wasn’t here for the experience; he was here to keep an eye on his wife! Upon arriving, he immediately felt his decision was absolutely wise!
He hadn’t noticed before, but now he realized—the entire office building, apart from Yi Luowa and Joyina, had no other women.
This place was practically a monastery. If he weren’t here to keep watch, who knows what could happen!
It wasn’t that Tong Airui didn’t have female team members; they just didn’t work in this particular office building. Why? To prevent misunderstandings, he had eliminated potential risks ahead of time for the sake of Yi Luowa.
Before lunch, Joyina and Ke Jingran, who’d been standing in military posture outside all morning, were finally allowed back inside.
Joyina, after being handled by Mi Chenshuo earlier in the morning, had wobbly legs. After standing all morning, she was even more drained, collapsing onto the sofa as soon as she returned.
"I came to experience life, not endure inhuman treatment!" Joyina moaned, looking at Yi Luowa. "Can’t you talk to Fourth Brother..."
Before she could finish, Tong Airui dashed in anxiously. "Honey, Fifth Brother just underwent surgery."
