Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 522 - 448: Make the Most of Time (Second Update)
Tong Airui dragged her into the bathroom, "I’ll tell you while we wash up, we need to hurry."
Tong Airui filled half the tub with water and pulled Yi Luowa in. "This isn’t about five dismemberment cases, it’s seventeen."
Yi Luowa looked at Tong Airui in shock. "How can there be so many?!"
"The five bodies are recent victims, found hidden in an apartment on Wulin Road. The other twelve were discovered in the basement of an abandoned factory in a more remote area. The oldest date back to over two years ago."
"So many people went missing all at once, and no one reported it?" Yi Luowa found this hard to believe.
"There’s only been one report in the capital city. The others are likely out-of-towners, and the police are searching through nationwide missing person records."
Yi Luowa furrowed her brow slightly. "A case this big—it’s no wonder they don’t dare make it public. If the citizens found out, can you imagine the panic it would cause?"
"According to what the police told me, this person is a depraved, twisted lunatic. None of the bodies are intact—they’re all missing some ’parts.’"
Yi Luowa shivered. "Stop talking about it—the more you say, the colder I feel."
Tong Airui hugged her. "Then let’s not talk about this anymore. Let me tell you some good news."
"What news?"
"With such a major case in the capital, Muta is very concerned about public safety. He discussed with Dad about taking immediate emergency measures. Besides increasing the police presence, they’ve decided to relocate the headquarters of Divine Eagle back to the capital. They want to use Divine Eagle to deter criminals."
Yi Luowa tilted her head to look at him. "Relocate it back? Was the Divine Eagle headquarters originally in the capital?"
"Yes. Muta issued the order right away, and we have seven days to complete the move. Once we’re back, it’ll take only fifteen minutes to get to headquarters."
"That really is good news!" Yi Luowa grinned as she heard the news. That way, she wouldn’t have to be separated from her kids for three days every week. Tong Airui wouldn’t have to wake up at the crack of dawn every day for work either.
"Don’t go to the camp these few days. Wait until we move back, then return to work." Tong Airui smiled as he ruffled her hair. "Let’s soak for a bit and then get out—the kids will be back soon."
Yi Luowa held onto the edge of the tub to stand up. "I’m done soaking."
Tong Airui looked at her with a grin. "Every time I bathe with you, it’s torture, but I still can’t resist wanting to bathe with you."
"In just a few days, you’ll be free." Yi Luowa laughed as she stepped out of the tub. "Want me to help you out?"
Tong Airui stared at her and swallowed hard. "No need, go get dressed quickly. Don’t keep flaunting yourself in front of me."
Yi Luowa chuckled and quickly dried herself before putting on her pajamas. "Honey, do you know how things are going with the negotiations with R Country?"
"Sula Island belongs to us. Haotian can use Sula Island for free, but R Country has to pay an annual fee to use it. Muta generously gave all of this fee to Haotian. Additionally, all our expenses for this operation will be shared between Haotian and R Country, with Haotian covering thirty percent."
As Tong Airui finished speaking, he had already changed into his clothes.
Yi Luowa glanced at him. He was just so quick—it was the same whether he was undressing or dressing; she could never keep up with his pace.
"Honestly, it sounds like bullying, but I feel so satisfied hearing it. They crossed the ocean to mess with us, and now they’ve learned their lesson."
"Mm." Tong Airui reached out to button up her shirt.
"I’m going to check if the babies are asleep." The moment the buttons were fastened, Yi Luowa darted out the door.
"I’ll come with you," Tong Airui said, following her.
Yi Luowa turned back and glared at him. "You’re not allowed! If the babies are feeding, you’ll see everything."
Tong Airui chuckled and stopped, feeling that moments like these—when his wife got a little jealous—could satisfy him for days.
As Yi Luowa went to check on the babies, Four Master stayed behind in the bedroom, making the beds for them. By the time Yi Luowa and the babies returned, he had already finished setting everything up.
Yi Luowa frowned slightly at the placement of her son’s and daughter’s pillows. "Why are the babies’ pillows on your side?" 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
"You’re restless when you sleep. I’m afraid you might crush them."
Tong Airui’s words made Yi Luowa instantly comply without retort.
From an angle she couldn’t see, Tong Airui gently smirked. Ever since she had become pregnant, her nighttime tossing had reduced to almost nothing, but he didn’t want the two kids to sleep apart from them. This was just an excuse—after all, she wouldn’t know what she did while asleep.
The nanny carefully placed the two sleeping babies onto the bed.
Once the nannies left, Yi Luowa quickly climbed onto the bed, determined to snag Tong Airui’s spot so she could admire the two little angels.
"Get back to your side," Tong Airui said as he closed the door and approached.
"Let me watch them a bit longer." Yi Luowa pleaded pitifully.
"You didn’t sleep at all last night—no more watching. Rest up now."
Yi Luowa glanced at his bloodshot eyes and obediently rolled back to her pillow. "You’re more tired than me. You should get some rest too."
Tong Airui smiled and climbed into bed.
Yi Luowa instantly scooted over to his chest, wrapping her arms around his neck with a cheerful grin. "Goodnight, darling~"
"Goodnight!"
"Sweetheart, don’t touch the babies while you sleep, okay?"
"Don’t worry, I’m not as restless as you are."
Yi Luowa grinned, nestled against him, then leaned over him to look at the adorable little ones. "Goodnight, my darlings~ Sweet dreams!"
Tong Airui grabbed her and pulled her back down. "They’ll wake up again at midnight—get some sleep now."
Yi Luowa pouted. "Fine, fine, I’ll sleep."
Exhausted, the two fell asleep within moments.
Tong Airui woke around 11 o’clock, glancing at the babies before carefully climbing out of bed.
Worried the babies might wake and disturb his wife, he called the nanny to move the little ones to the nursery ahead of time.
Four Master was nothing if not a first-rate husband and father. For his wife and kids, he leaned against the hallway wall for over two hours until the two babies were fed and happy, then brought them back to the bedroom.
Yi Luowa was blissfully unaware of his efforts. When she woke, the first light of dawn was breaking on the horizon.
Yi Luowa sniffled in frustration, knowing the babies must have woken up during the night. She had slept so soundly that everything—feeding them, calming them—had fallen on Tong Airui. He’d been under immense pressure for days, losing sleep night after night. Instead of helping him, she felt like she kept adding to his burdens.
Tong Airui turned at the sound of movement, slowly opening his eyes to see his wife’s guilty expression. He smiled faintly. "What’s the matter? Your eyes are a little red."
"Last night... I slept too deeply, and you didn’t get proper rest because of me."
"It’s fine, I’m used to it. Back in the old days on missions, going days without sleep was normal." Tong Airui picked up his phone to check the time. "It’s time—I need to head out."
"Won’t you eat first?" Yi Luowa hurriedly sat up.
"I’ll eat on the road." Tong Airui pulled her back to lie down. "Don’t worry about me. It’s 5:30 now—they can sleep for another hour. You should get some more rest too."
"Why are you heading out so early today?"
"The agreement was finalized yesterday, and I need to escort Sato Shoko back. Once that’s done, I’ll start organizing the move. Muta gave me a week, but I’d like to shorten it by a day or two."
"Don’t push yourself too hard—we’re not in a hurry." Yi Luowa reminded him.
Tong Airui nodded quickly in agreement. She needed to stay reassured—what she didn’t see wouldn’t worry her.
Joyina was up early that morning. She still hoped to go with Tong Airui to Divine Eagle’s headquarters, but once Yi Luowa explained, she smiled and said, "Moving back is great—it’ll be easier for you to care for the kids."
"Yes." Yi Luowa chuckled and nodded.
Joyina then ran over to Mi Chenshuo, who was immersed in his phone. "Has there been no contact from Park Shunyan yet?"
Mi Chenshuo shook his head helplessly. "He wasn’t answering yesterday, and now his phone’s turned off."
Joyina scratched her head. "You’ve probably drained his battery. What about his agent—can you get ahold of them?"
"His agent’s phone has been off since yesterday."
Joyina pouted. "Send a lawyer notice—don’t let him disrupt the auditions."
While they were discussing, Mi Chenshuo’s phone suddenly rang. He glanced at the number and gestured for Joyina to keep quiet before answering.
After listening silently, Mi Chenshuo finally responded, "Understood. No need for breach penalties—just send someone over to sign the agreement... Fine, let’s meet at Audrich Tower at ten o’clock."
Joyina waited for him to end the call before speaking. "Was that Park Shunyan?"
"His agent. Apparently, Park was urgently summoned by his father back to their homeland and won’t be able to take on the role."
"Wonderful!" Joyina cheered, playfully slapping Mi Chenshuo’s thigh.
