Chapter 1313

It was quite common to say the person who rarely became angry was the scariest when they finally did.

Even so, Evangeline could never have imagined Super Ribbon getting angry. Looking at her suddenly blow her top, Evangeline realized just how woefully ignorant and unimaginative she had been.

[Huh? What, what’s going on?]

[What's with that mask?]

[Holy cow, look at the ghostly energy around her...]

[Shouldn't boss run? She looks really mad.]

[That's why she should’ve teased her less, smh]

An alert then rang out in the chat.

[Constellation Sagittarius has donated 1,000,000 Won.]

- Congrats! Super Ribbon is hella pissed off lmao. Boss is dead meat now gg

“Ah! Constellation Sagittarius, thank you for the donation! I'll donate this money to a good cause! Peace! Kyaaak! Stop it, Super Ribbon!!”

Evangeline reacted to the large donation almost forcefully as the crimson blue sword Super Ribbon held instantly flew toward her.

She reflexively clapped her two hands together to snatch the sword. It was none other than the technique to catch a blade with bare hands.

It was an extremely high-level technique, enabling Evangeline, who surpassed the level of Master a long time ago, to easily snatch the attack that flew toward her in a straight line.

The problem was...

“Kyaaak!! My hand’s burning!!”

The sword carried such immense heat that even Evangeline—an ancient dragon that possessed overwhelming resistance—had to let go and frantically shake her hands to cool off.

Super Ribbon, who had thrown such a sword with her bare hands, was also quite incredible.

Evangeline, who protected her computer with superhuman reflexes, broke out in a cold sweat. “Sis, were you trying to destroy my computer just now?”

“Haaah.” Instead of answering, Super Ribbon just exhaled white frost and glared at Evangeline with her flashing red and blue eyes. After a couple of seconds, she spoke up in a chilly voice. “That’s... a harmful addiction, Eva.”

Her words sounded soothing as usual, but the meaning was completely different. They carried a note of coercion and brimmed with ghostly energy.

It also seemed to carry a terrifying threat that Evangeline would meet a terrible end if she didn’t listen.

Evangeline instinctively turned off the stream to protect her computer. After thinking about it for a moment, she figured there was no reason to show the viewers anything unnecessary.

“Sis? Can we calm down first and settle this with words...?” Evangeline offered.

“Sure... I'll show you the words.”

Seeing her ghostly laugh, Evangeline judged that calming her down right now was impossible and immediately called for backup.

“Shadie!! Eat this, whatever it is!!

Following the call, the black slime, appearing from who knew where, smoothly crawled up onto her shoulder and caused a very brief resonance in an attempt to consume Super Ribbon’s ghostly energy.

However, it was only a short while before it gurgled and suddenly spat out an iridescent egg.

“Shadie, is this all?”

In response to her bewildered question, the black slime nonchalantly bounced its body. The bouncing looked almost smug, in a way.

Evangeline believed it should’ve been able to devour whatever was affecting Super Ribbon if it was truly something abnormal.

However, by the way Shadie acted, she wasn’t sure whether it had eaten it yet failed to solve whatever the problem was, or if the problem was simply something it couldn’t consume at all.

With Shadie pretty much useless, Evangeline loudly clapped and forcibly expelled both herself and Super Ribbon from the lair. She couldn't let her place be destroyed!

“What should I do, what should I do... Dad’s gonna kill me!”

Since she had made Super Ribbon lose her reason and go berserk, the only future Evangeline could see was one of Davey severely scolding her.

* * *

Taking Super Ribbon out of the lair was a good choice, but Evangeline had no clue where to lead her from there.

Super Ribbon, who was walking with a floppy gait, had black wings fluttering as if they were alive.

They were completely different from the pure white wings Evangeline saw when Davey wielded her in the past. That made them even scarier.

“Eva, where are you going? Are we playing hide-and-seek?”

Slash!!

A formless blade energy sharply sliced through the tree Evangeline was hiding behind.

The two were in a dark forest path. Evangeline felt thankful that there were no people around.

Super Ribbon's power was only maximized when Davey wielded her. If one were to ask how strong her power truly was, even a god like Thanatos couldn't avoid suffering a critical injury at her hands.

Now that she began wielding that power without restriction, the outlook was bleak for the flustered streamer.

“Ugh. I almost died!” Evangeline complained.

The attacks were uncontrollable, each strike terrifying. Whatever was truly going on, it was too dangerous to leave Super Ribbon alone. Evangeline felt she had to subdue her first and free her from that terrifying state.

The real question was whether she could even take her down. Evangeline knew all too well how strong Super Ribbon was.

Describing the current Super Ribbon would be like a beginner with overwhelmingly powerful hardware. Fortunately, she had no direct combat experience to speak of. That was the only thing Evangeline could bet on.

In terms of her strength, yes, Super Ribbon was stronger when Davey took control of her. However, the unique authority she held was in a realm where it couldn’t be simply measured in terms of power.

Evangeline knew that suffering even the slightest cut would lead to a critical wound.

Within the domain of the sword Super Ribbon wielded, even magic would be severed. She figured breath attacks would be no different.

Even so, Evangeline knew better than to fight recklessly. If one of them were to become seriously injured, she shivered at even the thought of what the consequences might be.

Evangeline suddenly felt chills and began to wonder if she should let Davey know about Super Ribbon to mediate the situation.

Yet, revealing the situation would inevitably mean revealing how much she teased Super Ribbon, and she couldn’t imagine how much Perserque would scold her for that.

“Shadie... What should I do?” She sought advice from the black slime clinging to her shoulder, but its yellow eyes narrowed as if it was asleep.

‘This useless liquid monster...’

She then pulled out her smartphone. Now that it had come to this, she needed to amplify her power by gathering as much attention as she could through her stream.

At the same time, her professional instincts kicked in, and she couldn’t help but hope she might even make good content out of it. However, the moment she tried to go through with it, she hesitated.

She doubted whether showing a sisterly fight to others was the right thing to do.

“Hmmm. I don’t know.” Just as she muttered to herself, her instincts screamed a strong, chilling feeling at her.

She raised her head, trembling, and saw Super Ribbon looking down at her. The girl leaned her upper body on the severed tree while looking directly at her through the mask.

“S-Sis... can we please calm down a little? I'll apologize,” Evangeline offered.

“No, it's fine. You don't need to worry about me.”

Hearing that while Super Ribbon exhaled white frost was enough to drive Evangeline crazy with fear.

“Waaah!!!” In the end, Evangeline screamed and started running again. Of course, Super Ribbon followed right behind and pursued her with a swaying gait.

Evangeline felt like she wasn’t going to get anywhere if nothing changed, and forced herself to make a big decision. She could increase her power momentarily through her stream, but she also couldn’t show Super Ribbon's vulnerable side to others.

That left the remaining options of either holding out until Davey arrived or calming Super Ribbon down before then.

At that moment, Davey was on Tionis, and they were on Earth. She had no means of contact, and in order to go to Tionis, she had to cross the rift in her lair or on Earth.

However, neither was possible. Thinking to that point, she was left with only one option.

“I have to make as much noise as possible so Dad finds out.”

In the end, making a fuss was inevitable.

Of course, she couldn’t cause any physical damage. Alas, there weren’t that many places where she could quickly gain attention while keeping damage under control.

More importantly—

“Aaahhh!!”

Time wasn’t on her side.

Blade energy flew in from empty space at an immense speed. It cleanly sliced through the spot where she had been standing just moments before.

“Phew. I don’t know anymore. Whatever will be, will be. There's no time like the present.”

Evangeline flicked her hand, and a dark crimson flame flickered. Soon enough, she was holding the divine dragon sword Twilight.

“It’s sink or swim! Here I go.” She reminded herself of one of the reasons she decided to become stronger in the first place. She then drew out all of her power.

The sword Super Ribbon wielded was definitely dangerous. It was one that could surely deliver critical damage with just one slice, but fortunately for Evangeline, she lacked the skills to fully wield it.

Evangeline planned on exploiting that weakness. Of course, even she was unsure how long she could hold out.

Clang!!

Evangeline gave up running, instead instantly turning around and clashing their swords.

Any other sword would’ve been instantly cut through, but Evangeline’s sword was made of helixium. It was a divine metal that didn’t exist in this world.

Twilight’s trait of absolute indestructibility made it like an ultimate boss weapon of sheer, brute durability.

Of course, she had been forced to imbue considerable weight in the blade to achieve that invulnerability, yet in Evangeline’s hands, that level of weight actually enhanced her attack power.

Clang! Clang!!

White flashes momentarily burst six to seven times in the dark forest. Massive shockwaves tore up the surrounding area every time their swords clashed, like camera flashes going off.

[Paladia-style Galactic Spear]

[Modified Form]

[Tearing the Mantle]

Crack!!

Her sword razed the entire ground like a giant claw, tearing it all up. It soon went after Super Ribbon.

It was common sense for someone to dodge when the ground in front of them was suddenly flipped up and threatened to swallow them whole.

However, Super Ribbon merely swayed, spinning the red and blue sword in her hand before gripping it. Then, she eerily laughed and subtly redirected her sword.

Slash!!

“Kyaaak!!”

Evangeline screamed in surprise, and her expression hardened instantly. She had been the one who attacked, yet she was the one who took a hit in return.

If the fight continued, one of them would inevitably get seriously hurt. An injury from the fight was unacceptable!

No, Evangeline was fine if she was the one to hurt a little. However, she couldn’t let Super Ribbon become hurt in the slightest.

“Sis, I'm sorry! I went too far, didn't I?”

Evangeline knew all along. She knew that Super Ribbon was not truly angry over just her teasing. However, if her teasing was what had triggered something within her and caused her to go berserk, she knew it was still her fault.

Perhaps the reason Super Ribbon wore the dokkaebi mask was due to extreme stress, giving a dissociative benefit.

“I know you only sang because you liked to. I wonder, did you realize that it’d put this much pressure on you?”

Receiving attention from others could be a good thing, but it could also place an incredible burden on a person.

Super Ribbon must’ve been the latter case.

“I teased you too much without even considering that.”

Even the helixium couldn’t prevent the shockwaves from being directly transmitted to her body. Blood trickled down the corner of her mouth. “I'm sorry, Sis.”

Evangeline felt like she was about to cry. She couldn’t hold back the tears welling up inside her.

“Shadie! You can help, right?

Evangeline recalled that Super Ribbon had hesitated for a brief moment when Shadie sucked the black energy out of her. Evangeline racked her brain to prepare a final move.

Following her request, Shadie, which had been draped over her shoulder as if asleep, slowly opened its eyes. It then crawled over her head with a sluggish movement.

“If this fails, I'll get seriously hurt. Got it?!”

At first, Evangeline had only waited for Davey to arrive, but she realized there was another way.

Super Ribbon's transformation consumed Davey's mana. In other words, the more mana she used, the harder it’d be for her to maintain her combined combat state and teenage form.

If she kept consuming large amounts of mana, the union was bound to break. That dokkaebi mask was like her trademark authority, so if she were to split into Blue Ribbon and Red Ribbon, Evangeline figured the situation would surely be resolved.

Thinking this, she calmly moved her sword to block the fierce assaults.

Evangeline pushed the fight to a precarious level and continued the fight without stopping. However, she didn’t miss the moment she saw a gap.

“Shadie! Bite her!

The black slime momentarily stretched its body out.

As it sucked in the dark energy, Super Ribbon stumbled. “Ah. Aaaah?”

When she faltered while exhaling white frost, Evangeline quickly lunged toward her.

Not to be outdone, Super Ribbon swung her energy sword, but Evangeline trusted in the durability of her sword and collided head-on.

Clang!!

A tremendous shockwave erupted around them. If there had been a device to measure mana, the sheer force of the collision would’ve destroyed it on the spot.

Evangeline came out on top in the exchange. Though she suffered a severe internal injury, she successfully forced Super Ribbon to heavily deplete her power.

Evangeline stumbled backward from the recoil. “Sis, how much time do you have left? You can't even hold on longer than a few more seconds, right?

Super Ribbon made a pained sound and staggered violently. After a short time, she collapsed to the ground.

It was done. Evangeline had successfully exhausted all of Super Ribbon’s power before Davey arrived.

Soon, her red and blue hair scattered, and her whole body was enveloped in light. It was the prelude to releasing her combined state.

“When we go back, let's eat tteokbokki together... I'll make it real good.”

Super Ribbon trembled, hearing the consolation.

After a short while, Super Ribbon vanished. Two adorable little girls took the place where she had been.

Red Ribbon and Blue Ribbon! They were the older sisters Evangeline loved and adored the most in the world.

Since Super Ribbon was now split into two adorable and innocent children, her berserk state was lifted as well.

If Evangeline had been even a little late, she would’ve suffered a major injury before she could’ve done anything.

She forced a weak smile.

“Ahahaha, it's over now, right?” Holding back the blurring of her vision, she offered a new suggestion. “Do you two like spicy food? Should I make the tteokbokki spicy, or mild? Ah, since the union’s released, mild is probably better. I know Red Ribbon doesn't like spicy food.”

At the same time, the two children who had been sitting with their heads bowed as if they were unconscious suddenly flinched. Simultaneously, the two each brought one hand to their faces as if they were waiting.

“Ahhh. Don't make me laugh! Seriously... how can this be...”

Red Ribbon and Blue Ribbon put on blue and red dokkaebi masks respectively, the colors opposite to their hair colors.

‘Isn't that Super Ribbon's authority? What on earth made her and even those two so desperate?’

Feeling a mix of bewilderment and fear, Evangeline slowly dragged herself back to her feet.

Blue Ribbon soon turned into a sword. Red Ribbon gripped the transformed Blue Ribbon with her adorable little hands.

Sling!! Thud!!

It was a wonder how such power could possibly come from such a small body.

It was unbelievable, and Evangeline couldn’t stay a sitting duck forever.

She hastily thrust her sword forward.

If it was Blue Ribbon's authority, all magic would be cut by the sword. Thus, she had no choice but to block them physically.

A gigantic dragon forefoot ripped through the air and suddenly blocked the blue sword.

Yet, at that moment—

Poof!!

Red Ribbon, who was about to swing, was instantly enveloped in red light and turned into a sword, while Blue Ribbon, who had been the sword, picked up the transformed Red Ribbon as she wore the dokkaebi mask from earlier.

Seeing how fast the two transitioned between roles, Evangline felt nothing but bewilderment. “Seriously! How in the world?!”

After a tremendous explosion, Evangeline was sent rolling like a tumbleweed.

The reluctance to hurt them prevented her from exerting her full strength.

Evangeline was soon left groaning and clutching her bleeding arm. Even though she blocked the attack with Twilight, she was still hurt pretty severely.

In a situation where she was lucky that her arm was still intact, she gritted her teeth and stood up.

As if to say they were twins for a reason, Red Ribbon and Blue Ribbon pressed Evangeline, switching between offense and defense as if they were one. They possessed a terrifying aura that posed a stark contrast to the innocent, clumsy, and cute sisters Evangeline was used to.

‘I won't mess with you again, Sis...’

The moment she thought that and was about to clash with them again, the two abruptly returned to their human forms and collapsed.

The berserk phenomenon forcibly came to an end.

When Evangeline turned her head, she saw Shadie gurgling as it spat something out. Yet, it still kept devouring the black substance from the two children.

“See? I knew you could eat it, you bad monster...” she muttered weakly.

Not long after, the air tore open, and someone ran in with an anxious expression. It was the person Evangeline always claimed to dislike because he smelled like alcohol. In the end, he was the most reliable person she knew.

“Eva?! Evangeline! Wake up!”

In response to the ringing voice, Evangeline smiled weakly. Davey, her father, immediately drew upon holy magic with an anxious face.

Even though she had meant to get his attention, he’d arrived way too quickly for it to be because of her fight. She figured the constellations must’ve noticed something strange about the stream and likely contacted him.

Judging by his uniform, he seemed to have rushed out during a treaty signing with a foreign country.

Even with all her complaining, Evangeline ultimately had no choice but to admit that her father was the most dependable person in the world.
