Chapter 108: Chapter 108 - Firing Albert!

The board members glanced at each other from the corner of their eyes, but most eyes fell on Albert.

It wasn’t a secret that he ran one of the larger factions within the company, yet he had hidden the actual proof very well.

’Did he actually find proof on him?’ many board members wondered at once.

Silence fell inside the room as tension rose; everyone now stared at Logan, waiting to hear what would happen next.

Logan didn’t speak right away.

He opened a file on the hologram projector in front of him, causing three names with pictures to appear on the screen.

"Vivian Crowne. Darius Vellin," he said, his voice calm but firm. "And Albert Hardza."

Logan let their names sink in for a few seconds.

"Effective immediately, you’re all removed from your positions and fired from the company."

The room froze.

Mouths hung wide open as everyone stared at Logan with pure shock in their eyes.

Even Albert blinked in confusion, clearly not expecting his name to be called.

"What?" Darius shouted from the corner, standing up from his seat. "Where is the proof?!"

Logan pulled up Darius’s file— being the only one the investigation team actually managed to find dirt on.

"Is this enough proof for you?" Logan said coldly, revealing dozens of harassment complaints and hundreds of millions in missing funds.

Darius paled, stammering excuses.

Logan raised his hand, making Darius go quiet immediately. "I’m sure the Mana Enforcement Bureau is very interested in your excuses," he said coldly. "But I’m not."

Darius fell completely silent, his body slumped in his chair as his world collapsed.

Logan gave a small nod to Garrick, signaling for Darius’s removal.

As Garrick dragged Darius out of the room, Logan’s eyes fell on the other two people who had remained calm and composed the entire time.

Vivian was the first to speak, eyes locked on Logan. "I would like to hear the reason for my termination."

"Same here," Albert said, his smirk gone, brow twitching with anger. "And if you can’t give me a valid one, my lawyers will bury this place in court."

Logan let the silence stretch, leaning back in his chair like he had all the time in the world.

"Vivian," he started. "I know of your involvement in several sabotaging attempts towards projects run by Franklin."

Vivian’s lips parted slightly, but she said nothing yet.

"Several crucial shipments were intentionally delayed, all backed by falsified documents."

Logan turned to Albert.

"And you? The investigation team didn’t find any trails on you," Logan said. "But I expected that, since you’re too smart to leave those behind."

Albert raised an eyebrow, his expression shifting from anger to amused disbelief.

"Legally, you cannot fire me," Albert said immediately. "Unless you want me to sue this place for billions."

Logan shook his head.

"I’m not here to play legal games with you," he said coldly. "You’re fired because I don’t trust you. And this company doesn’t have room for people I can’t trust."

Albert’s expression shifted rapidly—disbelief, panic, then immense rage.

"See? This is why I didn’t want some broke orphan to take over leadership," he said, looking at all the other board members. "He’s not one bit worried about the billions I’ll sue this company for."

Logan remained silent, a small smirk appearing on his face.

The suffocating silence dragged on... until Albert finally spoke again.

"I’ll give you one chance to rescind the termination paperwork," he said, new confidence growing on his face. "This is the only way the company won’t suffer."

Shaking his head slightly, Logan finally responded.

"Go ahead, sue me," Logan said, his smile growing. "I prefer that over leaving a parasite like you inside the company."

"Me? A parasite?’’ Albert slammed his fist on the table. ’’You will take that back right now or I am suing you for defamation."

Logan stared at him, not blinking at his threats.

Albert said nothing at first. Then, with slow, deliberate movements, he tapped his hologram watch—quietly playing the card he’d been saving for last.

"Some of us like to keep... backups," he said, voice smooth and quiet. "In case things ever got messy."

He didn’t elaborate. He didn’t need to. The message was very clear—if Logan fired him, he might just leak something damaging.

Logan leaned back, shaking his head as he folded his arms across his chest.

"Good," he said. "Then you’ll understand why I’ve prepared as well."

Albert’s eyes narrowed, not quite sure what Logan meant.

"I don’t care what you’ve saved," Logan said calmly. "If anything from this company leaks—anything at all—everyone will point to you first."

Albert’s smirk twitched slightly.

"I don’t need proof to raise suspicions," Logan continued, his finger tapping on the table. "Once other people realize you aren’t trustworthy, you’ll find yourself blacklisted from every major company."

Albert didn’t reply.

"I’ll even pay the Mana Enforcement Bureau to dig through every second of your life," he added. "Give them a few years—and who knows what they’ll find."

The remaining board members stayed silent, some glancing nervously at each other. No one dared to speak.

Staring at Logan with rage hidden behind his eyes, Albert stood up.

"You’ve just made a very expensive enemy," he said, before taking the notice and leaving.

Vivian also stood up, giving a small nod before she followed Albert out the door.

As she left the room, she couldn’t help but smirk a little.

’Now that was interesting,’ she thought. ’Albert really is too prideful—he’ll end up digging himself into a grave.’

Staring out the windows, she smiled. ’I have more than enough money to live out the rest of my life somewhere overseas.’

Back inside the room, silence fell as Logan exhaled slowly.

His eyes fell on the empty chairs.

It felt like one of the heaviest weights he’d carried since he inherited the company had finally been lifted.

’Great. Now I’ve got to worry about getting assassinated again,’ Logan thought, shaking his head. ’Albert’s definitely not letting this go.’

Logan scanned the room, quietly noting the reactions from the remaining board members.

A few looked at him with newfound respect after tearing out one of the company’s deepest factions, while others were slightly worried.

He didn’t need applause. The silence was enough.

"Now that all the parasites are gone," Logan announced. "Let’s start on the Alvarez family and the contract I’ve recently acquired."
