Billionaire Legacy: I Became Overpowered With My Spending System-Chapter 107 - Green Wisp?
Chapter 107: Chapter 107 - Green Wisp?
Sitting down on top of his bed, Logan closed his eyes and put his full focus on his undead affinity.
’I still don’t know what the weird feeling was,’ he thought, frowning as he looked at the undead mana mass swirling in front of him.
For a moment, a green wisp flickered within his black mana mass, barely visible before it disappeared again.
Logan narrowed his eyes, but the wisp had already vanished.
Continuing his cultivation, nothing seemed to be off.
’Strange,’ he thought, opening his eyes again.
Shaking it off, he stood up and went to his private training room.
’’It’s been some time since I’ve last been here,’’ he muttered, grabbing one of the training glaives from the weapon rack.
Swinging it around him a few times, Logan put it back down.
’That’s not why I came here,’ he thought, shaking his head.
He pulled out the Flaming Body manual, flipping to the second stage of the technique.
’I didn’t have the time to learn it before the duel. But now I do.’
Logan also wanted to continue training the Wings of Fire technique, but something felt off—like he was missing a piece.
Unable to figure it out, Logan came to the simplest conclusion.
’The second stage of the Flaming Body technique might offer me some insights.’
Reading through the second stage again, he nodded.
’’I have to coat the outside of my body in a thin layer of fire mana for this stage,’’ he muttered, his eyes narrowed.
While it might sound easy, materializing mana outside one’s body in itself was difficult, not to mention keeping that mana stable.
’It takes insane control to keep it from leaking back into nature,’ he thought, fully aware of how far he still had to go.
In its early stages, the technique is even dangerous to use.
’Not only can people get hurt from their own mana, but since the technique needs constant attention when it isn’t mastered, it would be dangerous to fight someone with it.’
But despite the difficulty, its power spoke for itself—you were basically forming armor out of your own mana to block enemy spells and increase your strength.
’’I should get started now,’’ he mumbled, reading through the instruction.
Logan began guiding fire mana toward his palm, following the manual’s advice to start with smaller body parts first.
As he pushed the mana through his palm, a flame appeared on his hand.
’No,’ he thought, imagining containing the flame around his palms.
But the fire mana wasn’t easily tamed, fighting back against Logan’s attempts to force it somewhere every step of the way.
His eyes shot open as the flame on his hand dissipated.
’’This isn’t going to be easy,’’ he muttered, quickly closing his eyes for a second time.
Hours flew by as Logan tried to cover his hand in fire mana. He wasn’t close to success, but each tiny improvement pushed him to keep going.
Eventually, a thin and extremely weak layer of mana covered his entire hand.
’Progress,’ he thought, satisfied.
His focus slipped for just a second, immediately dissipating the entire flame around his hand.
’’Of course,’’ he muttered, letting out a sigh.
Before he could continue, Logan heard a small beep from his watch.
’Is it time already?’ he thought, his eyes shooting open.
Glancing at his watch, Logan stopped training and got up to change into formal clothing.
’’This will be one hell of a meeting,’’ he mumbled, a smile spreading across his face.
He actually couldn’t wait to get rid of all the parasites, even if it meant losing some money in the process.
’The money I’ll recover in the long term will be amazing,’ he thought excitedly. ’Besides, we’ll have to pay at most two or three billion to settle their lawsuits.’
’Which is a small price to pay to eliminate people sabotaging operations worth billions.’
Once he finished putting on his good suit, Logan gave himself one quick glance in the mirror before greeting Silas in the hallway.
’’Are you ready?’’ Silas asked, smiling.
He also wore a suit, but despite that, Logan could see Silas’s sword sitting around his waist.
’’I am,’’ Logan said, giving a small nod.
Silas and Logan didn’t speak much as they walked through the hallways, both deep in thought about the upcoming confrontation.
’I’m glad Silas managed to get Garrick and the others here,’ Logan thought, mentally preparing himself for the meeting. ’There’s a good chance Albert and the others won’t take this well’ freēwēbηovel.c૦m
As they stepped out of the elevator on a lower floor, a group of employees came to a stop and bowed slightly until they passed by them and arrived in front of the meeting room.
’’This is it,’’ Logan muttered, exhaling sharply.
Silas gave him a firm pat on his back. ’’No matter what happens, we’ll be here to protect you.’’
Logan gave a nod, his expression turning cold as if he’d put on a mask.
Silas pushed the door open for him, bowing slightly as Logan walked by.
Logan glanced around the room and quickly spotted three familiar faces. But his gaze stopped on one—Albert Hardza.
Albert was leaning back in his chair, smirking as he stared at Logan.
’He seems pretty confident,’ Logan thought, ignoring his taunting behaviour. ’Let’s see how long he can keep that smirk on his face.’
For someone like Albert, it wasn’t all about the money. No, Albert loved the control and power his position gave him over others.
As Logan sat down in his chair, a small smile grew on his face.
’’Good afternoon everyone,’’ Logan said, leaning forward slightly. ’’I’ve come with good news... and bad news.’’
The board members looked at each other with strange expressions, before quickly glancing back at Logan.
"This morning, I’ve sent the investigation team back after they concluded their investigation and fulfilled their contract," he continued, his smile growing slightly wider.
"Which means I’ll be letting a few people in this room go."
