Beast World: A Fragile Beauty Blessed with Many Children-Chapter 323 - 322: A Blast of a Horn
Making love while soaring through the sky was beyond thrilling. To Si Shuo, even a roller coaster was nothing in comparison, just a series of ups and downs, a fleeting sense of g-forces and weightlessness.
Yin Jiang was wrapped around her, leaving no space between them. The intensity of his deep love, translated into action, was almost too much for her to bear. Her mind was filled with nothing but him, unable to form a single thought, only to beg for his tenderness...
Later, as Yin Jiang flew, holding her languidly in his arms, Si Shuo bit his neck in mock resentment. ’So much for not underestimating a male,’ she thought. ’So much for him being silent and withdrawn, his emotional trauma not yet healed and in need of my counseling.’
’For him, if one ’hearty meal’ wasn’t enough, then two or three would do the trick. There was nothing that couldn’t be solved that way.’
Yin Jiang looked down at her. Gone from his eyes was the killing intent and sharpness of a Hunting Falcon; all that remained was tenderness and profound love. He might not understand the concept of love, but he was true to the joy he felt in his heart.
"Shuo’er, you still haven’t told me why you were crying. You were the one crying so hard, after all..."
’The nerve of him, blaming me first!’ Si Shuo’s eyelids were still red and swollen. She huffed, "You knew I was crying, and you still bullied me!"
Yin Jiang recalled the sight of her, tear-streaked and beautiful, begging him moments ago. His body tensed again, and he let out a low chuckle. "Shuo’er, if I had let you have your way back then, I wouldn’t be much of a male who loves you.
"If a male isn’t a little forceful at a time like that, I might end up being rejected by you."
’What a smooth operator!’ A faint blush crept onto Si Shuo’s face as she buried it in the crook of his neck, her lips pursed in a smile.
She did enjoy what he gave her. It was as if she could peel back his silent exterior and glimpse the heart that beat so fervently for her.
"Yin Jiang, they say that children inherit from their Father. Everything you’ve been through will become the starting point for their lives. Your past was too painful, and you’re still affected by it, to some degree. Can you honestly ask yourself, have you truly let go of the Eagle Clan? Aren’t there friendships you’re unwilling to part with, enemies you want to take revenge on? Isn’t there a lot you need to get off your chest—things you need to say to the clan members you once protected, so you can truly bid farewell to your past, embrace a new beginning, and finally let yourself be free?"
Her words struck Yin Jiang’s heart like a sharp jab. ’She’s so perceptive,’ he thought. ’It’s as if she truly lives inside my heart, able to sense my deepest thoughts.’
Yes, how could he simply let go of such a tragic past? Over a year of misery, of humiliation at every moment... if his willpower hadn’t been strong enough, he would have never seen the light of day again.
He didn’t dare to touch that wound, unsure if it had healed or was still festering underneath.
He wanted to stride forward, but often, one cannot control one’s own thoughts. He couldn’t just pretend that the past never happened.
Besides, the Eagle Falcon Clan was known for holding grudges!
"Shuo’er, I want to return to the Eagle Clan before the harsh winter arrives," he said, silent for a moment before his voice filled with resolve.
"Chu Yi is missing and Chu Ming is dead. But when I was abducted, there were definitely people in the clan who fanned the flames, people who sat by and did nothing, and people who schemed in the shadows.
"It’s been too long to investigate everything clearly, but I still have to go back and settle the score. At the very least, I need to let them know I’m still alive and well.
"It’s just..."
Si Shuo smiled and nodded. "I know. Once you return to the clan, people will see that you haven’t been crippled. They’ll see you’re still a powerful Level 13 Warrior despite your youth. I’m afraid some will grow jealous, while others will fear you’ll win everyone’s admiration, threatening their own positions and prestige. They’ll be itching to make another move against you.
"You’re worried because last time, they used your grandmother to threaten you and forced you to surrender without a fight. This time, they could do the same with me and the children to make you submit, right?"
Yin Jiang nodded. "Yes. I don’t care what happens to me, but Shuo’er, you and the children can’t be dragged into this because of me."
"That’s why we can’t be passive," Si Shuo said. "I’ll bet that as soon as the news gets out that you’ve advanced to Level 14 Combat Power, they’ll be on pins and needles.
"Instead of waiting for them to plot against us, we should seize the initiative," Si Shuo said with a light laugh. "If this isn’t resolved, how am I supposed to give you any Hunting Falcon Pups?"
Yin Jiang’s body trembled. "Shuo’er, you... you want to have my children?"
"Mhm. But Ji Liang is hatching an egg, so I guess you’ll have to hatch one too. In any case, you can’t count on me," Si Shuo said, nodding as she tugged his ear. "I want our children to come into this world with a legacy of peace and closure.
"They should be like their Father: responsible, brave, resourceful, and possessing outstanding Combat Power. They should be good kids who love life, have a positive outlook, and never let anyone bully them!
"We’ll all soar through the blue sky together..."
The mere thought of that image—of him carrying his mate with a pair of fledglings trailing behind—made Yin Jiang’s heart burn. He couldn’t help but toss her into the air, transform into his Beast Form, and catch her on his back, soaring straight for the heavens with a high, piercing cry.
Si Shuo could feel his elation. It was just like when he had been given a new lease on life, and he had taken her on an acrobatic flight through the sky.
"You like the idea that much, huh?" Si Shuo smiled, her lips pursed. Her eyes darted thoughtfully. ’Apart from Gong You, none of the other men in the house know I can use a Transformation Talisman.’
Her talismans were all made from Spirit Beast Skin and spirit beast blood. As she drew them, one by one, her understanding of them deepened, and her talisman-making skill had advanced, just like her Replication Ability.
The talismans were no longer consumed on a per-use basis. Instead, their longevity was determined by how much Spiritual Power was stored within them, providing aid for as long as the power lasted.
Take the Transformation Talisman, for example. Previously, each use was limited to fifteen minutes, and a single talisman had twenty uses. But during the rainy season, she had focused on improving it. After repeatedly drawing and wasting countless Spirit Beast Skins, she finally succeeded. She had not only increased the talisman’s Spiritual Power storage tenfold but also removed the limits on duration and number of uses.
In other words, as long as the talisman had enough Spiritual Power, she could maintain her transformed appearance indefinitely.
She smiled, pursing her lips, and transformed directly into a beautiful white swan. Gazing at her own white wings, Si Shuo’s eyes filled with delight. ’Ah, I’ve really turned into a bird! And an elegant, beautiful white swan at that!’
Si Shuo flapped her wings and flew off Yin Jiang’s back. She let out two excited cries, but what came out was a loud, trumpeting HONK...
Yin Jiang was so startled his heart nearly stopped. But as he swooped in to catch his mate, he stared in a daze at the large white swan. He couldn’t help but circle her in amusement. "Did Shuo’er just summon Yuanyuan?"
How else could she have turned into a big white goose?
Si Shuo huffed. "Couldn’t I have done it with my own power?"
As she spoke, she flapped her wings and felt a little disoriented. ’I’ve never learned to drive a car,’ she mused, ’but I imagine a new driver getting on the highway for the first time must feel this same kind of panic.’
Fortunately, the sky was vast, giving her plenty of room to practice without causing any mid-air collisions.
Yin Jiang could see her mix of fear, nervousness, and excitement, and he smiled as he began to teach her how to fly.
