Kaelen looked at Roxy. He saw the light in her eyes. He saw the curve of her smile. But he also remembered the Dragon scent on her skin when she first arrived.

It was disgusting to him, and now that she has his own scent, a small smile bloomed on his lips.

When Vorn saw this, his lips hardened into a thin line.

He didn’t like this.

"She changes everything," Vorn murmured, his voice low so only the King could hear.

"She saves us," Kaelen replied, his eyes fixed on Roxy’s laughing face.

"Does she?" Vorn asked, his tone dark. "She comes from nowhere. She smells of Dragons. She builds houses of Iron-Wood that resist fire. She feeds us food we have never seen."

Vorn turned to his King.

"She makes us weak, Kaelen. Look at them. They are laughing. Wolves do not laugh. We are hunters that dominate the woods, we are feral and mighty."

Kaelen stiffened. "They are happy, Vorn."

"Happy is soft," Vorn spat. "Soft gets you killed. What happens when she leaves? What happens when the Dragons come? Will she fight for us? Or will she run back to the lizard King and leave us to die in our wooden boxes?"

Vorn gestured to Roxy, who was currently teaching a young wolf female how to do a high-five.

He clenched his fist because he would not like to believe that this soft female mate he has would do him harm.

She had an agenda of her own. He wanted to know.

He wanted to know the reason why she would leave the Dragon’s territory and willingly follow them to the wolf territory.

A lot of things were not making sense to him.

Unlike other beasts, Kaelen was smart. He definitely knew when he was being used. But he didn’t know that Roxy was using him to survive in this world that wasn’t Earth.

"We will end this talk." He said in a gruff tone, leaving Vorn standing there with a frown on his face. He looked at Roxy one more time with a ferocious look.

I don’t trust this female.

Roxy knew; she met his eyes, and he immediately looked away, walking away and going to attend to his other tasks.

She pressed her lips into a thin line.

I am working my butt off to increase the life of your pack, and you dare to look at me with so much hate.

I don’t give a fuck about his opinion. I left my baby and came here to deliver them from their strife, spent my hard-earned cash, even opening my legs to big Kae to conceive babies, and he is complaining?

Roxy bids farewell to the females that have gathered around her and finds Kaelen in his chambers. He was brooding while looking out the window; his back muscles made Roxy’s mouth water and her body tingle.

Should she just make her move right now, right?

Roxy approached him, but when she was about to touch him, he caught her hand, making her heart hang in her throat.

"What is your plan, female?" Kaelen suddenly breathed in a deep voice.

Roxy’s heart thudded in her chest.

What the fuck did he mean by that? What exactly did Vorn say to him?

"To make babies with you?" She squeaked.

The next second, Kaelen slammed her against the rock wall. She sucked in a sharp breath from pain, biting down on her lower lip.

"Then why do you need to change everything?" He asked her, his voice filled with hostility as his eyes bored into her. Roxy gulped.

"Because you need to be healthy to give birth to children," she replied, not relenting one bit.

Kaelen pressed his lips into a thin line and then let go of her.

Roxy let out the breath she was holding, heaving and trying her best to catch her breath. She had never been so scared since Zarek first met her; he had murderous intent steaming off him.

If she didn’t say the words he wanted to hear, Roxy knew that she would have been killed by him.

I really want to go back to the dragon clan.

She watched as Kaelen sat on the edge of the fur bed, his legs wide, leaning back, and observing her with his icy blue eyes that swirled with desire and gnawing insecurity.

Roxy wanted to knock him back to his senses.

The fire in the stove crackled, casting long shadows against the stone walls of the chambers, but the air between them was thick with tension.

She was irritated by his doubt in her when he was the one who wanted to pull her into his own fortress.

And he was finding it hard to believe she could just give herself to him, without an agenda.

He only hoped she wasn’t making use of him and his pack and turning them into food for the Dragon clan.

"Prove to me that I am not just passing time to you." Kaelen rumbled, his voice rough.

Roxy sighed, untying the sash of her robe. "You want me to prove it?"

She let the robe pool on the floor, standing before him in nothing. The sight made Kaelen’s breath hitch and his wolf howl in desire, his pupils constricted.

"You think I left my little baby back in the dragon territory just to play?" Roxy stepped between his spread legs. She placed her hands on his broad, scarred shoulders and pushed him back.

"Lie back, Wolfy. Let me show you exactly what I want." Her eyes held his, and a wicked smile curled at the corner of her lips.

Kaelen obeyed, falling back against the wall, his eyes devouring her. He reached for her hips, instinct driving him to take control, to flip her over and claim her as an Alpha should.

"Ah!" Roxy exclaimed as she felt his big hands slide down from her ass cheeks to her entrance. Did he even know what he was doing?

She caught his wrist and pinned them against the wall above his head. "Not tonight. Tonight.... You don’t do a thing." She whispered. "Just lie there and take it like a good Alpha."

Kaelen shuddered, gulping down. He had never felt so sexually aroused by a woman before to this extent; her voice was driving him insane; it was so attractive that his length hardened to the point of pain.

She straddled his waist, the heat of his skin melting her thighs. He was harder than ever, twitching against her stomach, just like his muscles jumped when she held his engorged length.

She swiped her thumb against his slick length, her fingers rubbing slow circles on his entrance as she leaned in to kiss him. He moaned from the pleasure his muscles tautened under her assault.

His body trembled from excitement, shuddering every now and then from the stimulation.

By the time she was done kissing him, his eyes were hazed over from lust.

Roxy grinned as she licked the corner of his lips, rubbing the sensitive spot behind his ears.

Kaelen almost lost it to her actions; he groaned, growled, purred, stripping off the Alpha in him and bringing out more of the vulnerable wolf he killed before.

Then slowly but surely, Roxy lowered herself down his length without breaking eye contact with him. She watched him shudder, break as she took him inch by inch, drooling from overstimulation.

He wanted to dominate her, but Roxy wasn’t letting him.

"Remember my name, Kae." She breathed against his lips. "I am Roxy..."

"Roxy..." Kaelen groaned, clenching his fist and gritting his teeth to control himself, but his hips bucked involuntarily to meet her, and she gasped. "You are tight... So tight..."

He groaned. Roxy smiled.

"And you are mine," she whispered.

She sank all the way down, gasping as he filled her. Then, she began to move. She set a grinding, torturous pace, rolling her hips to hit every sensitive nerve he had.

Kaelen was shaking.

He looked like he was in agony, his jaw clenched, sweat beading on his forehead as he fought the urge to snap and ravage her. He was starved for this... This worship she was giving him.

"Look at me," Roxy commanded, placing a hand on his chest to feel his frantic beating heart. "I’m doing this because I want your pup, Kaelen. I want a piece of you."

And that was what broke him.
