Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy-Chapter 976: Demons?!
Chapter 976: Demons?!
Vale then continued to wander through the city’s wide streets. He was guided not only by the signposts around the streets but also by the fluctuations of Divinity around him...
Eventually, he arrived at a tall building between two structures that seemed to be a tavern and a shop for Arcanist-Level Artifacts...
In any case, he focused on the building that first captured his attention. Above its doorway, there was a sign, "The Still Flame Inn."
Unlike other buildings bustling with mortals and arcanists, this one exuded a quiet, refined aura or divinity around it...
As soon as he got closer, he immediately noticed that Divine Formation Arrays were everywhere...
There were wards of silence, privacy, and deterrence... With these multiple types of arrays, it was clear that the inn catered to beings of considerable power.
Upon stepping inside, Vale was greeted by soft ambient light and a calming incense that made the place completely different from the outside...
The reception area was manned by an older gentleman. His coat had the symbol of the Still Flame Inn, and based on his Divine Sense, he was able to tell his Arcane Path.
[ Mystic Arts Practitioner with 12 filled Spell Lights. ]
This person was rare. After all, more than 80% of the people he checked were practicing Dark Arts followed by Combat Arts... Mystic Arts Practitioners were quite rare in this realm.
"Welcome to the Still Flame," The innkeeper greeted...
"Immortals and Half-Immortals are most welcome here. No battles within. No prying eyes. And no questions asked unless you wish to speak."
It seemed that he had a way to know that Vale was an Immortal.
Vale returned the nod and asked about the price of staying here.
Apparently, just a night would cost 30 Arcane Crystals. Vale then decided to pay with 5 Divine Crystals instead. He decided to overpay for a private, top-floor room shielded by Tier-Four Privacy Formation Arrays.
In the end, the five Divine Crystals he paid for allowed him to stay for 3 days with free breakfast and dinner in their finest room.
The innkeeper was definitely happy with this and continued to brief Vale.
"Breakfast and dinner are served at the Ember Hall. All ingredients are of the best grade or blessed. Rooms are refreshed every three hours with cleansing incantations. If you require spiritual tea or elixirs, ring the silver bell by your bed."
Vale thanked the gentleman before ascending the wooden staircase that seemed to shift in response to his steps.
His room was at the end of the hallway... The room was not too luxurious. However, he liked the fact that there was a window overlooking the cityscape of Hymn.
Once inside, he closed the door and activated the privacy seals embedded in the room’s corners with his Divinity...
After confirming the activation of the noise dampening, presence masking, and anti-surveillance wards, he continued to look around.
After scanning the room, he was satisfied that no spell, formation, or being was watching him.
Finally, he retrieved the three heavy books from his Storage Ring.
One by one, he opened them once again...
Similar to what he had expected, something shifted as soon as he did this.
Knowledge surged to his mind...
The pages didn’t glow, but his soul resonated with their contents. Concepts, diagrams, mana flow equations, philosophies of fusion, and the recorded thoughts of Immortal Authors all seeped into his mind...
This was true Immortal Enlightenment.
Although the knowledge wasn’t really an incredible secret, it was still something Vale appreciated.
The ’Immortal Connections: Pathways of Fusion’ explained the delicate logic behind spell harmonization—how opposed Paths could be resolved not through balance but through authority.
If one Path "ruled" the fusion, the others would serve, becoming subcomponents rather than equals...
In the meantime, the book ’Divinity and Dissonance’ taught him the unique phenomena of Shadow Divinity—how it differed from other divinity and how unique it was.
Finally, the Shadow Sovereignty book delved into case studies of Immortal Lords who walked the Umbra Paths: from the Nightfather of a Kingdom called Great Moon to the Matron of the Nightingale Clan.
Surprisingly, the book described the philosophy and, more importantly, the structural frameworks of their spells, and it became Vale’s blueprint.
Just like that, ideas began to bloom inside him.
’Interesting... What if I create my own Shadow Immortal Spell instead? It might be better for me to do that than to extract one, since it may not suit me in the end.’ Vale mused as he felt that he could create a Spell of his own with this much inspiration in his mind.
After all, with the requirement to advance to an Earth Immortal, he felt that it would be more appropriate to use a Shadow-Related Spell...
Soon, he stood up slowly... From his hands, mana strands started to dance between his fingers.
He wanted to create a new Spell Model!
No... too raw. It needs a structure. I need a better vessel. Should I use my own domain... not an extension of someone else’s legacy?
Vale was about to begin sketching the spell matrix when—
Whooom~
A sound reverberated through the city.
It wasn’t a physical explosion—it felt more like an alarm. Even the protective Formation Arrays on the inn’s walls shone in response.
Vale’s head turned toward the window and he noticed a protective dome being activated.
Without hesitation, he slipped the books back into his ring and left the room.
When he reached the lobby, a few other guests had already gathered, most with curious or annoyed expressions, but no panic.
He then approached the innkeeper, who remained behind the counter, unshaken.
"What’s the situation?" Vale asked... ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com
The innkeeper didn’t even raise an eyebrow. He already guessed that Vale wasn’t from around this region. He believed that Vale had most likely come from the central region and had no idea about the situation on the borders.
"Demons," He replied...
"Demons?" Vale repeated, narrowing his eyes.
"Low and mid-tier for now. There’s probably a Demon Saint commanding them. They’re targeting the city’s outer sector, a standard breach attempt." The innkeeper poured himself a cup of spiritual tea.
"Nothing to be alarmed about. Just the Luminis Hold alone maintains fifty Immortal Guardians, a hundred Saint-class Golems, and a city-wide Divine Formation."
