Chapter 975: Luminis Hold

Vale couldn’t help but look at his current Celestial Arts...

"I think I should change my current set of Spells... Most of them couldn’t take advantage of my Shadow Divinity." He mused.

There were more than 30 of them before, but because of his Spell Fusion Ability, he decided to fuse most of them... Now he only had a total of eleven Celestial Arts.

Because of that, his Spells had become completely random... It felt as if he had chosen all the paths out there.

The Celestial Arts he extracted from the previous Eminence of the Sea, the Tidal Surge, Leviathan’s Roar, Siren’s Lament, and Tempest Torrent had allowed him to obtain the Ocean’s Wrath Immortal Spell.

Obviously, this Immortal Spell doesn’t really suit him as a Shadow Immortal.

It was a Spell that could summon a massive oceanic spirit that could engulf the battlefield in a supernatural flood.

It was like a wave of sentient water crashing down, dragging enemies into their deaths... Of course, when cast near large water sources, its power multiplies.

Then, his Extracted spells from the Death God, the Soul Extractor, Demon Eyes, Demonic Energy Suction, and Doom Gaze, were merged into another high-level Immortal Spell called Abyssal Sovereign that could somehow transform him into a Death God-like being.

At the very least, this Spell, together with his Shadow Divinity, could allow him to obtain stronger effect.

It actually transforms him into a deathly sovereign wearing black robes and a skull coronet...

The great thing about this was the fact that each spell he casts while in this form adds a stack of Divinity Presence, amplifying spiritual pressure until weaker beings collapse under it.

Then, he also fused the Ash Resurrection, Demonic Transformation, Cosmic Sight, and True Astral Chains... Apparently, he wasn’t expecting much from this fusion... He thought it would actually fail since one spell came from an Immortal who had practiced Holy Arts, then another one from a Demon, and lastly, two spells from a Dimensional Creature!

However, to his surprise, he actually obtained a very powerful spell called Netherflame Ascendant. Just like the Abyssal Sovereign, it also transforms him into god-like being that has incredible sealing power.

Indeed, even if there were opposing Paths that should have resulted in rejection, he created a terrifying spell.

However, unlike the black robe and the coronet from the Abyssal Sovereign, this spell cloaks him in white and black flames... Furthermore, it had unmatched Sealing Abilities!

Then, there were also Spells he extracted from one of the Seven Sins, Pride. They were the Vanitas Veil, Conceit Chains, Dignity Decree, and Supremacy Surge. After fusing them, he obtained the Emperor’s Domain Spell!

Vale could summon an Imperial Aura that distorts reality, warping the will of others to obey. It felt more like a Psychic Spell...

In any case, those with weaker convictions could only bow down and obey him...

’It wasn’t about commanding others—it was about becoming the law itself.’ Vale mused as he recalled the time when he used this spell...

Vale then looked back at the still-open book in his hands.

He had been silently reading it for some time and felt satisfied with what he learned.

Eventually, the monocle-wearing storekeeper raised an eyebrow. "Done already?" he asked...

Vale nodded. "I’ll take these three..." he said while pointing to several heavy books...

"Immortal Connections: Pathways of Fusion"

"Divinity and Dissonance: Spell Models of the Shadow-Born"

"Shadow Sovereignty: Tactics and Theology of the Umbra Lords"

The storekeeper’s smile was faint but approving. "Ah... you’ve got an eye for the good ones."

As he said this, the storekeeper released the seal of the books.

Although Vale was able to open and read it, he didn’t receive the enlightenment of the book itself. This enlightenment could only be obtained once the seal was broken.

"Open them again once you’re in a safe place." The storekeeper reminded...

Vale then paid in Divine Crystals, tucked the books into his Storage Ring, and offered a respectful nod.

Then, he stepped out of the shop... He decided not to ask about hidden Immortal Spell Scrolls as he didn’t plan to join any organization while staying here.

"Now... Where should I find a safe place?" Vale mused.

As he started walking around, it seemed that his presence drew attention.

Not because of arrogance, but because of the undeniable divinity that he had...

Immortals may not be uncommon in this land but Vale’s aura was quite different from many other Immortals in this city.

Soon, a group of six approached him.

Two of them wore robes marked by a certain clan or organization he wasn’t aware of...

Then, the rest wore the garb of a monk. It was quite an interesting sight...

"You’re new here," It was said by one of the robed individuals. She had short black hair and was looking at Vale curiously...

"You’re an Immortal... Are you with any clan, sect, or dominion? I’m not seeing any signs of your affiliation."

Vale could tell that the two robed people were also Immortal like him, so he didn’t deny it.

"Not yet."

"Interesting," she replied, glancing at her companions. "This Hymn City, owned by the Luminis Hold—values strength. Unaffiliated Immortals either get recruited... or removed if they’re dangerous." Her voice didn’t carry malice, but it wasn’t exactly friendly either.

Nonetheless, Vale frowned at this.

"Easy now, Selin..." said the monk calmly. "We’re not here to start a fight. Just curious."

Then, looking at Vale, he added, "If you’re not a member of any organization, you’ll probably get invitations soon. The bigger sects and noble clans watch all new entries. Someone like you will be on their list..."

Vale offered a polite nod. "I’ll keep that in mind."

"Great! We’re actually from the Luminis Hold, the biggest organization here. We’re just patrolling the area... We will be going now." The monk said before leading the group away.

This was quite an unusual interaction, but still, Vale thanked them for informing him.

Well, he actually thought that this city was called Luminis Hold... However, it turns out that this city had a different name.
