Chapter 220 - 197 Zaboru Meets His Fans
"Yo Sakaki-san, long time no see." Sakaki quickly stood up and shook Zaboru's hand. "Hello Zaboru, it's been a while!" Then Sawada's face paled. "B-Boss!?, mm I..." Zaboru chuckled. "Don't worry, you are Sawada, right? I don't mind what you do outside the office. It's not my business."
Meanwhile, Rikki and Endo whispered to Sakaki. "Who's that, Sakaki?" Sakaki grinned and said, "This is Zaboru! Owner of ZEPS and ZAGE!" Rikki and Endo's eyes widened. "Whoa! Zaboru Renkonan!? Without a helmet! Whoa! Nice to meet you, sir! I'm your big fan!" Endo said, approaching Zaboru. Zaboru chuckled. "Anyway, can we talk somewhere else? We're bothering other customers here." Toki nodded. "Hah, let's go to my office. We can talk there."

"Mm, do you mind if we include ourselves?" Sakaki asked hesitantly.
"Go on, it's fine," Zaboru said.
The six of them moved to Toki's office, where Zaboru took a seat. Endo immediately began fanboying. "Zaboru-san, how can you make such amazing games!? I love all of them!" Zaboru chuckled. "Well, it's just a sudden idea I came up with, I guess?" Endo's eyes sparkled. "Whoaa!" Rikki laughed before turning to Zaboru. "Zaboru-san, does ZAGE need employees right now? Can I join? I work at a television manufacturing company, so I'm good with electronics."
Zaboru nodded. "Well, we're always hiring. Just deliver your resume to ZAGE, and our HR will contact you if we're interested, hahaha."
Zaboru then leaned back. "Do any of you have PCs at home?" Only Sawada and Endo raised their hands. "And have any of you ever played PC games before?" Endo nodded. "Oh? So what's your opinion on them, Endo?"
Endo thought for a moment before replying, "It's nothing special, really, Zaboru-san."
Zaboru nodded, deep in thought. 'Just as I expected.' He then smiled then spent some time doing quick talk and small talk after a while he said. "Anyway, do the four of you want to play more? Go on then, I have a personal meeting with Toki-san."
With that, the four of them left, leaving Zaboru alone with Toki. Toki grinned. "So, business has been good lately, Zaboru?"
Zaboru smiled and nodded. "Yeah, it's been good, Toki-san. Anyway, I heard from my father that your brother owns a magazine publishing company and that they also produce manga. Is that true?"
Toki raised an eyebrow. "Oh yeah, my brother Tomizawa owns Hakushensha, a manga and magazine publishing company. But honestly, they're always walking on the edge. They handle outsourcing for magazines and newspapers, and my brother refuses to sell Hakushensha. That idiot really values his employees, sigh."
Zaboru leaned forward slightly, eyes glinting with interest. "That actually makes it even more valuable, Toki-san. If they have a dedicated team and strong connections, that means they just need better funding and a solid strategy. I'm thinking of making a weekly ZAGE magazine, one that covers gaming news, developer insights, and maybe even serialized manga inspired by our games. We make one-shot manga, and if the response is good, we could turn those into full-fledged games."
Toki rubbed his chin, considering the idea. "Hah... now that you mention it, that does sound like a smart business move. Manga and gaming are already popular, but combining them? That could create a whole new market." He exhaled, blowing out a thin stream of smoke. "Alright, I'll let my brother know. I'll reach out to you when I get more information, okay?"
Zaboru nodded. "Thanks, Toki-san. By the way, here, this is for you." Zaboru pulled out a sleek, polished plaque with the ZAGE logo engraved on it. Below the logo, a small inscription read: Recognized by ZAGE for Outstanding Contribution. The marble surface gleamed under the dim office lights.
Toki raised an eyebrow as he took the plaque, running his fingers over the cool stone. "Heh, this is so cool. What's the occasion?"
Zaboru smiled. "Consider it a token of appreciation. You've been a tremendous help to me, Toki-san. Back when I was making terrible contracts, you could have taken advantage of my inexperience, but you didn't. Instead, you treated me fairly. I'll always respect that." He leaned back. "I also have one for Satonaka-san. I'll give it to him later."
Toki let out a deep chuckle, shaking his head. "You sure know how to make a guy feel appreciated, huh? I'll hang this up for sure."
Zaboru stood up, stretching slightly. "I should get going. I still have to stop by Dream Catcher Arcade and catch up with Satonaka before heading home."
Toki waved him off. "Yeah, yeah. Tell that old man Satonaka I said hi."
With that, Zaboru stepped out into the cool night air, his mind already shifting toward his next meeting. He had a feeling that this magazine idea could be something big. And if things went according to plan, it wouldn't just be a side project—it would be a revolution in the gaming industry.
Zaboru thought, 'Back in my previous world, reading game magazines in 80s or till early 2000s had a different kind of magic. Without widespread internet access or forums, we never really knew what other people thought about our favorite games. Discovering hidden secrets, easter eggs, or developer insights through these magazines was an exciting experience. I want to replicate that feeling and bring it to this world in a fresh way.'
With that thought in mind, he was determined to refine his vision for the magazine and explore new ideas that could revolutionize gaming culture.
