Angle's Arrogance? My Pact with the Succubus Queen!-Chapter 272: Head to a Wider World!
At that moment, Logan and Old Corleone’s wristwatches rang. A voice came from the underground space — Solon’s voice: "The second anchor point is destroyed."
"Diablo is badly hurt and almost dead, but still alive. What about the third anchor?" Solon’s voice was very tired.
"The third anchor is also gone," Old Corleone said. "All three anchors are broken. The Shadow projection dropped to 30-star. Now, it’s time for the final sealing battle."
Logan nodded and ordered: "Gather everyone. Set up the final battlefield outside Saint Heart City. This time, we end the war for good."
Everyone looked at each other, and fire burned in their eyes.
Three kilometers outside Saint Heart City.
A wasteland plain.
General Darwin’s [Vacuum Energy Field] was ready.
Hundreds of nanorobots floated in the air, packed very close together. They released electromagnetic interference, creating an invisible net that covered the whole area.
In this place, the transmission of Shadow Energy was greatly weakened — more than ninety percent blocked.
Logan stood in the center of the plain, silently using the energy inside the Life Crystal to heal his wounds
Behind him, the top leaders of the Human Federation gathered, each preparing for the battle ahead.
General Darwin stared at his monitor and said: "The Shadow projection is coming in thirty seconds."
Logan frowned and asked: "How much will the vacuum energy field weaken it?"
"At least two more stars," Darwin smiled. "Once it enters this area, its real power will drop to about 28-star."
"Don’t let your guard down." Old Corleone warned. "A dying beast is the most dangerous. And this one is stronger than we ever imagined."
Logan nodded. "We follow the plan."
He turned to the Ancestral Spirits girl and asked: "Are you ready?"
She nodded softly. "Life Purification is active. The space capacity of the Yepera bones is adjusted. As long as we bring the projection into the bones, I can slowly erase its mind with purification energy."
"Good." Logan said. He looked up at the sky.
Suddenly, a dark shape was rushing in from the horizon.
It stopped at the edge of the vacuum energy field and let out a deep, low roar.
There was no anger in the voice — just madness. "Federation ants!"
The Shadow projection’s voice was broken, like a bad signal. "You destroyed my anchors, cut my roots — you’ll all die with me!"
The projection leaped toward the plain.
As it stepped into the vacuum energy field, all the nanorobots activated at once.
The electromagnetic net closed in, like layers of invisible walls pressing down on the projection.
Black smoke roiled violently, and its size shrank visibly, again and again.
Darwin watched the energy meter and said excitedly: "It’s working! Current energy level is twenty-nine stars — and it’s still dropping."
Logan stepped forward and used his full Space Ability.
He cupped his hands, tearing two space cracks on either side of the projection. From the cracks poured pure life energy — purified power that the Ancestral Spirits girl had prepared.
The life energy met the shadow energy like cold water on hot oil.
The Shadow projection screamed in pain. Its smoke-like body started to smoke.
It tried to back away, but Logan didn’t let it. He opened a third space crack behind it, releasing even more life energy.
Now, the only way out was into the center of the plain.
The Shadow projection hesitated for a second, then charged forward.
She had lost her mind. All she wanted was destruction. If she couldn’t escape, she’d take as many as she could with her.
In the center of the plain, General Darwin’s pre-set sealing array was already active.
The ground lit up with a huge, complex glowing pattern, over a hundred meters wide.
The pattern had three layers of runes. The outer layer was Space Restriction, the middle was Energy Absorption, and the inner layer was Mind Separation.
At the center, the Yepera bones floated in the air. Their golden runes pulsed slowly, like a hungry heart waiting to eat.
The Shadow projection ran into the pattern. The Space Restriction took effect instantly.
The projection slowed down by over eighty percent, like it was stuck in glue.
She struggled wildly, hitting the barrier again and again. Each hit pulled more energy away.
In just ten seconds, her energy level dropped from thirty stars to twenty-eight.
"Now!" Logan shouted.
The Ancestral Spirits girl pressed her hands together and released full power of Life Purification, covering the Yepera bones.
The runes on the bones suddenly lit up, as if they had come to life, and started spinning.
In the center of the spiral, a strong pulling force appeared, directly targeting the Shadow projection.
The Shadow projection sensed the danger and went completely mad: "Everyone dies with me!"
"Stop her! She’s going to self-destruct!" Solon shouted and sliced the air with his sword, sending two blades of energy.
But against the Shadow’s last-ditch attack, the two blades were instantly reflected back.
General Camilla tried to send a mental shockwave, but it was also repelled.
As the Shadow looked like it was about to explode, Logan teleported above her and pressed both hands down.
He used his Space Ability and, with a 35-star power level, forcefully tore the space around the Shadow apart.
"Now!" Logan shouted. "Seal it!"
The Ancestral Spirits girl controlled the Yepera bones, and the pull suddenly grew stronger.
The Shadow projection, along with the space around her, was sucked in like ice.
During this process, the Shadow shrank more and more. When she finally touched the surface of the Yepera bones, she was only the size of a fist.
The bones cracked open, and the black ball was swallowed inside.
The next second, the bones trembled violently, and the golden runes on the surface flashed wildly.
Everyone understood — this was the Shadow’s final resistance. But after about thirty seconds, the shaking stopped.
The runes’ light faded, and the bones returned to calm. Only a black mark remained on the surface.
Darwin stared at the monitor and let out a long breath: "Energy level is zero. Shadow projection is completely sealed."
For a few seconds, the plain was silent. Then the crowd erupted in cheers.
"It’s over," Logan sighed. "Shadow projection is sealed. The seven-city rebellion is over."
"But her true body is still inside the seal. One day, she’ll break free. We must be ready."
Logan looked up, toward the direction of Saint Heart City.
The black clouds that had once covered the city had cleared, and sunlight was back.
Though the walls were broken and the streets were in ruins, at least the war had ended for now.
The Ancestral Spirits girl held the Yepera bones in her hands and said softly: "The seal is strong. It can last at least ten years."
"In ten years, the Shadow’s body won’t be able to project any power into the real world."
"Ten years?" Logan repeated. "That’s enough. Enough time for us to grow stronger and for the Federation to recover."
He turned to face the group. "The war is over for now, but the threat still remains. Everyone must stay alert. Rest for three days, then start rebuilding. As for the next plan..."
The smoke above Saint Heart City had cleared, but the air still carried the smell of blood and burnt earth.
Inside and outside the walls, workers and soldiers were cleaning the battlefield.
The people controlled by Shadow Beings were getting purification treatment. Members of the Runesmith Association, led by Elena, were checking each one for remaining Shadow energy.
In the underground fortress, the Federation leaders were all present.
Old Corleone sat at the head of the table, his hands folded on the desk, calm and composed.
To his left sat Logan, Solon, and Darwin. To his right were Arthur, High Priest Magdalena, and Lord Garen of Garen City.
Fischl and Vincent sat quietly in the shadows at the back of the room, not joining the discussion, just listening.
"The seven-city rebellion has been put down," Old Corleone said first. "The Shadow Army lost its leader, and the remaining forces are being eliminated. As for the damage to each city, Lord Garen, please report."
Garen City Lord nodded. "Saint Heart City’s walls are 40% damaged. Half of the garrison was killed or injured. A total of 131,000 infected people were isolated, and 30% have been purified so far."
He paused for a moment before continuing: "The other six cities are similar, but the damage is lighter. Overall, the Federation’s overall strength dropped by about 50%, and the core fighting force lost 30%."
On the other side, Holtcouncil added: "The cities have enough food and medicine, but Shadow Ore and Energy Crystals were used up quickly. We need to send more from the Northern Mines right away."
Old Corleone nodded. "Evelynna is already handling the supplies. The Corleone family’s caravans left this morning. The first batch should arrive in five days. In the meantime, all the cities will use rationing. Priority will go to the wounded and those in treatment."
He then turned to Logan. "How are you, Logan?"
Logan was sitting in a chair, his chest wrapped in bandages, but his back was straight.
"I’m fine."
"Is your 35-star power level completely stable?" Old Corleone asked again.
"Completely stable." Logan nodded. "After all that, I really need to take a long break."
The room was quiet for a few seconds.
Arthur sighed and said: "This time, you saved the Federation. Otherwise, we might have been in big trouble. But for you, the Federation’s world is too small. Maybe it’s time to go out and find a bigger one."
"A bigger world..." Logan repeated the words. "I will."
