Alpha's mate is a male?!?-Chapter 137: You mean So Much to me.
Chapter 137: You mean So Much to me.
Back In The Hotel, Rey has completely refused to leave, he wants to Talk, but Jun doesn’t want to do this.
Not now.
He already told Rey to leave, made it clear he wasn’t ready to talk. But Rey is here. Standing in front of him, refusing to go.
"I want to know your thoughts now, I don’t see the reason of keeping this pending when we can talk about it," Rey says moving even closer.
Jun steps back, he feels the pressure rising, the weight of everything pressing down on him.
Rey’s words push him to the edge, "Oh, now you want to talk?" His voice cracks slightly, but he forces himself to hold his ground. His anger has been simmering, waiting for a place to go, and now it’s spilling over.
"Where was this when it mattered, huh?" Jun demands, "Where was this when you could’ve just asked me instead of assuming for yourself?! Instead of avoiding me like I was nothing to you?!"
Rey flinches at that, his jaw tightening, but he doesn’t step back. frёeweɓηovel.coɱ
"I assumed? Did you just say I assumed everything?!" His voice wavers, but he keeps going. "Jun, I gave you all the reasons that made me think that. I didn’t pull them out of thin air. I saw it, we all saw it. And you..." His voice breaks, and he shakes his head, unable to finish that sentence.
Jun’s chest is heaving, his emotions swirling like a storm inside him, but Rey’s next words hit him like a knife.
"You don’t just call another person’s name when you’re intimate with your partner, Jun," Rey says, and his voice is quiet, but the weight behind it is crushing. "That means something. It’s okay if you want to talk about Ace the whole day, but calling his name?! Besides, I found more reasons in your journal."
Rey swallows, his eyes glistening. "I wouldn’t say that where I went wrong was thinking you still have feelings for Ace. Because I had all reasons to say that, didn’t I, Jun?"
When Jun doesn’t say anything, Rey lets out a humorless laugh, but it’s hollow, broken. "The only mistake I made was not asking you." He gestures vaguely, his voice thick with regret. "Saying it in front of everyone like that. Avoiding you afterward. I shouldn’t have. But I couldn’t help it." His voice cracks, and for the first time, Jun sees it... the raw hurt in his eyes, the way he’s barely holding himself together.
Jun turns away, because looking at him hurts too much. Maybe he should walk away. Maybe it’s easier. But before he can take a step, Rey grabs his wrist. Not rough, not forceful, just desperate.
"If you don’t answer me, then you’re forcing me to think like that," Rey says, his voice pleading now. "Talk to me, Jun."
Jun stays still, his heart hammering against his ribs.
"You already figured it out yourself, hadn’t you?" he finally says, voice barely above a whisper. "So why are you insisting that I tell you?"
Rey stares at him, his face crumbling. His hands drop to his sides, and his lips part slightly, as if he wants to say something, but nothing comes out.
"So what you’re trying to mean right now is that it’s true?" Rey finally asks, his voice shaking. His eyes shimmer with something Jun never wanted to see directed at him
_ betrayal.
Jun feels something crack inside him. He can’t take it. He knows how much Rey loves him, how much Rey has been hurting because of him. The anger, the frustration, the way he lashed out at everyone_ it was all because of this, because of him.
Jun lets out a breath, his shoulders slumping. He doesn’t want to lie. Not to Rey. Not to himself.
"To some extent, it’s true," he finally says. "But to some other extent... it’s not true."
Rey’s breath catches in his throat. His chest tightens as he stares at Jun, barely able to process his words.
To some extent, it’s true, but to some extent, it’s not... What does that even mean? His voice is barely above a whisper when he asks, "What do you mean by that, Jun?"
His heart clenches when Jun looks away, struggling to find the words.
"I didn’t even realize this myself until some hours ago," Jun admits, his voice raw with emotion. "Yes... it’s true- A part of me is still holding onto what Ace and I had. But I swear to you, Rey, I know I love you now. I’m not in love with Ace anymore."
Rey flinches, unable to stop the sharp pang in his chest. "How is that even possible?!" His voice shakes. "You’re still holding onto what you had with him, but you’re not in love with him? How does that make any sense, Jun?"
Jun exhales a trembling breath, his fingers clenching at his sides. "Because Ace left me, Rey. He said he fell in love with someone else." His voice cracks on the last words, the wound still fresh even after all this time.
"I never really had time to process it. My mind was a mess- frustration, insecurities, betrayal... It all piled up, and I acted without thinking. That’s why I even became allies with Lila in the first place, because I was not thinking. And then my father died. Everything kept getting worse, one thing after another. I didn’t have time to feel it all, to digest what had happened to me."
He swallows hard, his voice dropping to something almost fragile. "At some point, I just forced myself to let him go. To accept that he wanted someone else. But..." Jun hesitates, shaking his head. "Maybe I didn’t truly let go. Maybe I just pushed it all so deep inside me that I thought I did. But it stayed. And when I met you... Rey, I felt like we belonged together. I still do. But something in me... this fear, it lingers. Ace and I shared everything, and yet he still left me without hesitation."
Jun’s voice breaks, and he lets out a bitter chuckle. "And now, thinking about it... maybe it’s not even Ace himself that I was holding onto. Maybe it’s the fear. Fear that you might leave me, too. Because if he could leave me, then why wouldn’t you?"
His breathing is uneven now, his pain cracking through every word. "Him leaving like that... it destroyed something in me. Maybe I’ve been waiting for him to tell me that I still mean something to him. That I am worth being with. Maybe I just can’t stand the thought of being left behind again. Maybe all this time I’ve been trying to prove myself to him, that am worth, and I wanted him to come back to me and tell me that- that am worth."
Rey’s heart aches as he listens, but he doesn’t interrupt. He feels every ounce of Jun’s pain, every unspoken wound that had been buried deep inside him. When Jun finally falls silent, Rey steps closer, his voice trembling with emotion.
"You’re afraid that I’ll leave you? That I’ll just fall in love with someone else, the way Ace did?" He swallows hard, his hands balling into fists. "Jun, how can you even think that? You know how much I love you. You know how long I waited just to be with you. I prayed that the Moon Goddess would mate us, and even when she didn’t, I still chose you. I will never leave you, Jun."
Jun squeezes his eyes shut, and Rey watches as more tears slip down his cheeks. It shatters him.
"And Ace?" Rey continues, his voice softer now. "You want him to confirm that you’re not worthless?" He shakes his head. "Babe, Ace never thought you were worthless. He didn’t leave you because he wanted to. He was mated to Kieran, and you know how that bond is. You can’t just brush it off. You mean just as much to him as he does to you."
Rey exhales slowly, trying to steady his emotions. "The other day, he came lushing at me, all because he didn’t want me treating you carelessly. Do you really think he doesn’t still care about you?" Rey steps closer, gently cupping Jun’s face. "If that’s what’s holding you back, then you need to let it go, baby. Because none of it is true. And if it’s still eating at you, then talk to him. Clear everything between you two."
Jun lets out a shaky breath, his entire body trembling. His walls are crumbling, and before he can stop himself, the tears start falling faster.
Rey watches him for a moment before slowly reaching out, his fingers brushing over Jun’s damp cheeks. "I’m sorry I assumed everything," he whispers.
Jun doesn’t answer. He doesn’t even try. He just breaks, burying his face into Rey’s shoulder as his sobs shake through him.
Rey holds him tighter, rubbing soft circles on his back. "It’s okay," he murmurs against Jun’s hair. "You’re more than what you’ve ever imagined. You’re my everything. And not just mine. Kieran and Ace hold you in their hearts too. So do Marsel and Elira. You’re not someone who gets left behind."
For a long moment, they just stay like that, wrapped in each other’s arms, letting the silence hold them together.
Then, finally, Jun pulls back slightly, his red-rimmed eyes searching Rey’s.
Rey reaches out, wiping his tears away again, his gaze filled with nothing but love. And then, he leans in, pressing their lips together.
At first, Jun hesitates. But as Rey’s warmth consumes him, he melts into the kiss. It’s slow, deep, and full of everything they’ve left unsaid. Rey pours all his love into it, all his silent promises.
Jun sighs softly against his lips, finally allowing himself to feel it. The warmth. The safety. The love.
But then...
BZZT. BZZT.
The phone vibrates against the table, breaking the moment.
Rey groans softly, pulling back just enough to glance at the screen. His expression darkens.
"It’s Kieran," he mutters.
