Alpha's mate is a male?!?-Chapter 136: Unknown New Wolf.
Chapter 136: Unknown New Wolf.
The moment they step out of the car, Marsel and Elira are already approaching.
"What took you so long?" he asks, when they get near.
Ace sighs, rubbing his temple. "Dad, we’re already doing him a favor by leaving what we were doing and coming here to listen to him. So why should we rush?" His tone is edged with impatience, but he doesn’t stop walking.
Kieran doesn’t respond, his focus locked straight ahead, expression unreadable.
The pack house prison looms before them, an imposing structure of thick stone walls and heavy iron doors.
It was built for punishment, not comfort, and the air around it is thick with something oppressive, like the weight of all those who have suffered within its walls.
Inside, the atmosphere is colder, darker. The scent of damp stone and lingering pain lingers in the air, pressing against their senses.
The dim lighting barely casts enough glow to chase away the shadows.
When they enter, Rehan comes in the view.
He’s barely recognizable.
Slumped against the wall, shackles clamped around his wrists, his once-imposing figure has withered into something fragile.
His skin, pale and stretched thin over sharp bones, glistens with sweat. His breathing is ragged, uneven, and yet... his eyes still hold that same stubborn fire.
When he sees them, something flickers in his gaze. Relief.
With great effort, he lifts his head, his body trembling from the movement. His voice comes out hoarse, barely above a whisper.
He doesn’t even wait, he starts talking.
"First, I want to apologize. For everything. For whatever I put you through." Kieran and Ace scoff at the same time, not believing what he says.
Rehan’s gaze settles on Ace, heavy with something almost vulnerable. "But Ace... I never intended to use you. I never wanted to played around with you, all I did, I did because I really wanted to be close to you. You are... a great person. And my heart truly love you."
Kieran’s body stiffens.
Ace hears the low, warning growl before he even turns to look at him. Kieran’s jaw is clenched, hands balled into fists at his sides. His entire frame is rigid, muscles tense with barely restrained fury.
Then, like a storm breaking, it snaps.
A deep, guttural snarl rips from Kieran’s chest as he takes a step forward, fury darkening his expression.
"Do you wish for me to end you now?" His voice is dangerously low, shaking with rage. "What nonsense are you talking about?! You don’t get to say that to him! Especially in front of me! Well, unless you wish for me to escort you to hell right now!"
The force of his anger vibrates through the room.
It’s not just about Rehan’s words. It’s everything.
Kieran has fought, suffered, made wrong choices because of Ace, and regardless of all that, he somehow ended up with him, by wanting, needing, but now it’s like everyone is after Ace.
They don’t even see that he is his, they belong to each other, they just make it obvious how they want him.
How many more?
His control slips further.
"Is this what you wanted us here for?!" Kieran thunders, his voice echoing off the cold walls.
Rehan barely flinches. He’s too weak to. Instead, he lets out a slow breath. "Part of it."
Kieran scoffs, his anger still crackling in the air like lightning waiting to strike.
Rehan swallows hard. "Anyway, I know I have no right to ask for any help. I know I have done nothing to deserve it. But I really need your help." He pauses, struggling to lift his head. His voice cracks, raw and desperate. "Please, Kieran. I know I was not the best person to either of you, but I need your help."
Ace watches him closely, his own emotions tangled between bitterness and something else... something almost pitying. Rehan looks... defeated. A far cry from the arrogant man he once was.
Still, Ace has no patience for dragging this out.
"What the hell do you want?" he demands, folding his arms. "Just spit it out already."
Rehan’s breath is shaky, but then... "I got a woman pregnant. It was just a casual thing but unexpectedly, it went too far."
Silence slams into the room like a physical force.
No one moves.
No one speaks.
Ace blinks, caught completely off guard.
As if wondering, why the hell is he telling us that?!
Marsel and Elira exchange looks of disbelief, their previous annoyance now replaced with sheer confusion.
Kieran lets out a sharp, humorless laugh. "And why the hell should we care about that? Why should we know about your shameless acts."
Rehan exhales, his voice laced with something close to fear. "Because she’s human."
Another beat of silence.
Ace frowns. "Human?! You mean like you got an innocent human woman pregnant?! Oh God!" He ruffles his hair , irritated.
Rehan’s fingers twitch against the floor. "Yes, she has no idea what I am. We met at a club. To her, I was just... a man. A human, a man she fell in love with, but when I realised it went too far, I started avoiding her." He swallows. "But now the baby... the baby won’t be just human. It will have more of my blood, which means it will be a werewolf. And if it’s born and humans start noticing that something about him is different, it might raise attention."
Ace’s stomach turns.
Rehan meets their gazes, desperation bleeding into his voice. "If humans begin to suspect that supernatural beings exist... who knows what will happen? And they might kill it, and maybe try to find the father, leading to investigation of everyone which might lead our revelation."
The weight of those words settles over them like a thick, suffocating blanket.
This isn’t just about Rehan anymore.
This is about all of them.
If humans become aware of werewolves, if they start looking for them, it could throw their entire world into chaos.
Rehan’s breathing grows heavier. His body shudders violently, his strength visibly draining from him.
Then, without warning, his eyes roll back, and he collapses.
"Rehan!" Marsel is the first to move.
But Rehan doesn’t respond.
His body lies still against the cold stone floor, his breath coming in weak, uneven gasps.
Ace stares, heart pounding.
Kieran doesn’t move. His fists remain clenched, jaw locked, emotions warring in his stormy eyes. "This man! This man is really a... I don’t know how to call it... a disgrace!? So now he just threw us into chaos and die, leaving others to pay for his mistakes! Shit!" Kieran’s anger grows.
Ace exhales, his pulse hammering against his ribs. "He didn’t even tell us where the woman is, how the hell are we supposed to know that?!"
This is too much, they came here expecting an apology, expecting another game.
But this?
This changes everything.
A heavy silence hangs in the air, thick with disbelief. The reality of the situation settles in, pressing down on them like an unbearable weight.
Ace’s breath comes unevenly as he stares at the lifeless body on the cold stone floor. His fingers twitch at his sides, frustration curling inside him like a wildfire ready to consume everything in its path.
"This is insane," he mutters, voice low and sharp. His nails dig into his palms as he turns away, now pacing around. "How the hell do we keep ending up with more problems?"
He knows for sure this will not end well, not with an innocent werewolf among the humans who don’t have any idea that they exist.
Kieran stands rigid, his jaw locked so tight it looks like it might crack.
His eyes remain fixed on Rehan’s unmoving form, but there’s no grief in them, only the simmering heat of frustration. "I can’t even believe this, like, he just drops this on us and dies?" His voice is cold, disbelief woven through every word. "After everything, he leaves us with another goddamn mess?"
Elira moves closer, her expression tight with suppressed emotions. "It’s always something," she murmurs, shaking her head. "Just when we think we can catch our breath, something else comes crashing down. We have lived our whole lives, keeping the humans from this secrete, but guess it was never meant to be a secrete till them end."
Marsel exhales harshly, dragging a hand down his face. His gaze flickers between them before landing back on Rehan, his brows furrowed deep. "He didn’t even tell us enough, now that’s the real problem. We don’t know if the baby is born yet. We don’t know where the mother is. We don’t even know how long we have before this spirals into something worse." His voice is controlled, but there’s an unmistakable edge to it, like he’s barely keeping himself from snapping.
Ace lets out a slow breath, his frustration coiling tighter. "So what now?" The question hangs in the air, but no one has an answer.
Because there isn’t one.
Not yet.
All they know is that Rehan is gone, but his problems are still here, dumped in their laps without warning, without choice. And now, they have to figure out what the hell to do about it.
