After Transmigrating into a Novel with My Boyfriend, He Turned Out to Be a Native Villain-Chapter 239: Screw Your “Love Over Time”
For several days in a row, the temperature had been dropping even faster than expected, and the chill in the air was biting.
As soon as Yu Li stepped out of the dorm, a gust of cold wind hit her in the face. She silently tucked her chin into her scarf, pulled her hat down over her head, only revealing a pair of beautiful fox-like eyes, and lazily stood there with her hands in her pockets.
Mu Chengsi came up from behind and was a bit surprised to see her bundled up so tightly. “You’re that afraid of the cold?”
Yu Li replied in a lazy tone, “Don’t you think the temperature dropped too quickly?”
“Did it?” Mu Chengsi shrank her neck a bit. “But it’s always like this around here. The temperature just plummets out of nowhere. Who knows, maybe it’ll snow this year.”
Yu Li glanced at her. “You want it to snow?”
“Kind of. It hardly ever snows here, so I always look forward to it each year.”
Mu Chengsi answered casually, then noticed that Yu Li had been staying in the dorm the past few days. “Hey, you haven’t been over to Bo Jingmo’s lately, huh?”
“Mm, couldn’t get up,” Yu Li yawned. “It’s too much trouble going back and forth.”
The two chatted idly for a bit, and then Yu Li suddenly remembered that tomorrow was the weekend.
“Speaking of, aren’t you going to deva tomorrow?”
“Yeah.” Mu Chengsi paused mid-motion. “You’re not gonna erase my memory again, are you?”
But Yu Li just let out a laugh. “No need. If they ask you, just tell them.”
Huh? That was a sudden change.
Mu Chengsi looked confused. “You’re not worried they’ll investigate you?”
“They probably have more important things to do now. Might not even have time for Bo Jingmo.”
She never planned to hide for long anyway. She had only been afraid they’d discover she was an NPC. Now that another face had shown up, her goal was already accomplished.
Besides, that face had given her quite a surprise.
Li Mu, huh…
She lowered her gaze in thought. That identity really came in handy for misdirection.
“Yu Li, Yu Li.”
Mu Chengsi’s voice pulled her back. She looked up.
“What is it?”
Mu Chengsi gestured at her phone. “Le Yi asked if we wanted to grab a bite after class.”
“No thanks. I promised Bo Jingmo I’d be with him.”
Yu Li yawned again, a few tears gathering at the corners of her eyes. “He said he’s going to get a gift tomorrow and wants me to go with him. Probably won’t be back tonight either.”
The real reason? Someone had been bombarding her with messages, pitifully whining that she hadn’t spent time with him in ages.
“Gift?” Mu Chengsi blinked. “Is it your birthday?”
“No, it’s Bo Jingmo’s mom’s birthday. There’s a banquet next week, apparently.”
“So is he taking you to meet his family?”
Mu Chengsi used to think Bo Jingmo was cold and didn’t seem like the type to spoil his girlfriend. But after spending more time around them, she realized that Bo Jingmo wasn’t bad at spoiling—he practically wanted the whole world to know Yu Li was his girlfriend.
Yet strangely enough, the two of them were incredibly low-key. You’d hardly see them together at school.
She figured Bo Jingmo probably didn’t want anyone from deva finding out about Yu Li.
Last time, someone on the forum asked if Bo Jingmo and Yu Li were dating. But within seconds, the post vanished—photo and all, wiped clean.
But now, from the way Yu Li was talking, it didn’t seem like she minded if deva found out.
That must be huge news for Bo Jingmo.
Hearing that, Yu Li just shook her head. “I probably won’t go. Not much point in attending.”
Besides, Bo Jingmo’s father would be there too. That wouldn’t be a fun scene.
Mu Chengsi nodded in understanding. “Then I’ll message you later.”
Though… probably nothing big will happen… right?
…
After class ended in the morning, Yu Li pulled out her phone and sent Bo Jingmo a message. Once she learned he was waiting in the car, she packed up her things and got ready to leave.
Just as she stepped out the door, she saw Wan Wanwan standing at the corner.
Yu Li paused. She was going to walk around her, but Wan Wanwan spoke first. “Yu Li.”
Well, no dodging that now.
Yu Li stopped and turned her head, her eyes curving as she smiled. “What’s up, Senior?”
That “Senior” made Wan Wanwan visibly awkward. She rubbed the edge of her sleeve nervously, looked around at all the people nearby, then lowered her voice. “Can I talk to you alone?”
“Sure.”
The two of them found an empty classroom. Wan Wanwan slowly brought up the team-building event. “Zhou Pan has been removed from his position.”
Yu Li nodded. “I know.”
Her own position had been revoked too.
“That the only reason you wanted to talk to me?”
“Of course not!”
Wan Wanwan quickly waved her hands, then after a moment of hesitation, asked, “What’s your relationship with Bo Jingmo?”
Yu Li raised her eyebrows slightly.
What a coincidence—just as she stopped caring about keeping it secret, everyone suddenly wanted to ask.
But instead of answering, she smiled and shot back, “What do you think our relationship is? Are you guessing we’re together?”
Together?
Wan Wanwan had always avoided thinking in that direction. Or rather, even if she had thought it, she refused to believe it.
She’d known Bo Jingmo for nearly five years, ever since high school, when her aunt quietly arranged for her to be by his side and slowly get close to him.
Even without the task from her aunt, at that tender, emotionally charged age, Wan Wanwan really had liked Bo Jingmo.
But his attitude had always been lukewarm at best.
Plenty of girls had confessed to him before, but Bo Jingmo never accepted any of them. That man, who seemed gentle on the outside but was cold to the core, always said the same thing:
“Sorry. I don’t like you. And I never will.”
Straight to the point.
He even shut down any chance they had left.
Still, Wan Wanwan’s competitive streak had been lit.
From others’ failed confessions, she concluded: you couldn’t rely on a pretty face—that was too shallow. Bo Jingmo would definitely reject that.
With someone like him, you had to play the long game.
Love over time. No way that wouldn’t work.
But one year… two years… three years… now even half of college had gone by. Wan Wanwan had gone from full of confidence to seriously wondering if someone had scraped all the feelings out of Bo Jingmo’s heart.
Because this guy just wouldn’t budge!
Her aunt had asked her a thousand times how it was going, and not wanting to let her down, Wan Wanwan could only say, “Well, at least he’s less cold to me than to others.”
And that was true—Bo Jingmo, for his mother’s sake, treated her a little less coldly.
After all these years, he was still brutally efficient when rejecting people.
But now, Wan Wanwan was completely lost…
How the h*ll did Yu Li and Bo Jingmo get together??
If she remembered correctly, it hadn’t even been a full month since they met, right?
What were they on, a rocket?!
Screw your “love over time.”
