Chapter 64: Chapter 64: Bullying Her? Wyatt Strikes Back on the Spot

Alice York didn’t expect Wyatt Sterling to return so soon.

The moment he appeared, Kyle Churchill’s bluster instantly deflated. He retreated two steps, a guilty look on his face. "Third Uncle, I was just joking with Alice York."

Wyatt Sterling glanced at Alice York, who had already managed to stand up on her own. He noticed her palm was bright red where the skin had clearly been scraped off. His expression darkened as he turned to Kyle Churchill. "Joking?"

A jolt went through Kyle Churchill, and a cold sweat broke out on his back.

’But on second thought, so what if Wyatt Sterling saw him push Alice York? This is the Churchill Family’s estate. Wyatt Sterling wouldn’t dare make trouble for him here, would he?’

"Yeah, Third Uncle. It was just a joke, right, Miss York?" Kyle Churchill was certain Alice wouldn’t dare speak out of turn now, so he tossed the question to her.

Alice York’s palm stung painfully. This trip to Washington had been one disaster after another. First, she’d sprained her ankle and torn a ligament. Then, she was nearly choked to death. Now, she’d been pushed over and had her skin scraped raw...

Each incident drew more blood than the last.

When she suddenly heard Kyle Churchill put her on the spot, she knew his game. But she had no choice but to bite her tongue. Just as she was about to agree with him, the tall figure before her suddenly moved.

THUD!

It was accompanied by a blood-curdling scream!

Alice York didn’t even see Wyatt Sterling lift his foot. The next thing she knew, Kyle Churchill had been sent flying into a nearby flowerbed, only his feet left sticking out.

She stared at the scene, her face a mask of astonishment. ’Wyatt Sterling just kicked Kyle Churchill!!!’

Wyatt Sterling strolled leisurely over to the flowerbed, looking down coldly at Kyle Churchill’s ridiculous and pathetic state. "Your uncle was just playing a joke on you. Why aren’t you laughing? Were you born without a sense of humor?"

"..."

Kyle Churchill was completely stunned by the fall.

He saw stars for a long moment, only snapping out of it when he saw Wyatt Sterling’s menacing face.

He tried to move, but his entire body erupted in excruciating pain. He couldn’t get up no matter how he tried. One of his hands was completely useless.

He shook his head, flinging away the grass and leaves clinging to his face and hair, and roared with uncontrollable fury, "Wyatt Sterling! This is the Churchill estate! You’ve gone too far!"

Wyatt Sterling said casually, "You’ve made a mistake."

Kyle Churchill froze, confused.

Wyatt Sterling leaned down slightly, enunciating each word. "The mistake of only having known me for a day."

Anyone who hadn’t just met Wyatt Sterling knew that once his temper flared, he’d teach a lesson to anyone who provoked him, regardless of the time or place. Whoever crossed him was in for a world of hurt. By pushing Alice York, Kyle Churchill hadn’t just stepped on a landmine; he’d walked right into the line of fire. He was practically begging to be destroyed.

"This is the Churchill estate, you bastard! Don’t you get too fucking arrogant, Wyatt Sterling!" Kyle Churchill refused to back down, struggling to get up and save face.

But the next second, a scream like a pig being slaughtered ripped through the air—

"AHHHH..."

"IT HURTS, IT HURTS, IT HURTS..."

Wyatt Sterling had methodically lifted his foot and brought it down squarely on Kyle Churchill’s one good hand.

Kyle Churchill howled in agony, but Wyatt Sterling acted as if he heard nothing, grinding his foot down with more force. "It seems crippling one hand wasn’t enough. You’ll only behave once both are useless."

"Third Uncle!"

Alice York cried out just in time.

She didn’t know what to make of Wyatt Sterling’s sudden explosion of violence, but her instincts screamed at her to stop him before things went too far.

"Third Uncle... Hiss..." In her panic, she forgot about her injured hand. She grabbed Wyatt Sterling’s arm, only to immediately snatch her hand back in pain.

Wyatt Sterling looked down. The back of his hand was stained with Alice’s blood. Alice knew he found it disgusting and quickly tried to wipe it off with her sleeve, but Wyatt Sterling pulled his hand away. "Stay to the side."

Alice ignored him and continued to plead, "Third Uncle, please, calm down. This is the Churchill estate."

"And what of it?" Wyatt Sterling said dismissively. He clearly didn’t give a damn about the Churchill Family.

"But, Third Uncle..."

Before Alice could finish her plea, Wyatt Sterling cut her off. "What? You’re going to try that little act from this morning again?"

Alice was speechless. The words caught in her throat.

This morning...

This morning, when he’d been on the verge of killing someone, she had urged him to be a better man.

"AHHHH..."

Just then, Kyle Churchill’s agonized screams erupted again. Wyatt Sterling was pressing down harder, the pain so intense Kyle felt like he was being torn apart.

For the first time in his life, Kyle Churchill knew what it felt like to be a fish on the chopping block. With Wyatt Sterling standing on him, there was absolutely nothing he could do to fight back.

’So much pain! It felt like his bones were shattering!’ 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

But he still refused to yield, threatening viciously, "Wyatt Sterling, you’ll pay for what you’ve done today!"

Wyatt Sterling chuckled disdainfully. "A price like the one for hanging Scott Churchill from a bridge?" he asked, his voice unhurried.

Kyle Churchill’s seething rage morphed into a dumbfounded stare. "What... did... you... say?"

Wyatt Sterling slowly crouched down. His well-ironed, tailored shirt stretched over the powerful lines of his frame.

Alice couldn’t hear what Wyatt Sterling was saying to Kyle Churchill, but she saw the look of utter disbelief on Kyle’s face, and the raw fear that was practically bursting from his eyes...

It was obvious that Kyle Churchill was truly terrified—so terrified his face had gone deathly pale.

Servants rushed over to help Kyle Churchill out of the flowerbed, but none of them dared to question Wyatt Sterling. They could only escort Kyle to a room inside.

When they were finally alone, Alice walked over to Wyatt Sterling. "Third Uncle, what did you just say to Kyle Churchill?"

Wyatt Sterling tilted his head. "Curious?"

Alice nodded. "Yes, I am. I wouldn’t have asked if I weren’t."

Wyatt Sterling’s lips curled into a smirk. "If you’re so curious, then guess."

’Guess? It’s not like I can read his mind... Still, thinking back, something’s been off ever since Kyle Churchill’s hand was broken. Plus, Perry Pierce was the one who kidnapped the fake ’Kyle Churchill’ today, and Perry Pierce was also the one who broke the real Kyle’s hand. If I ask Wyatt Sterling directly if he arranged to have Kyle’s hand broken, will he even admit it?’

As these thoughts ran through her mind, she suddenly heard Wyatt Sterling say, "Let me see your hand."

Alice snapped out of her thoughts and obediently held out her hand for him to see.

Wyatt Sterling clicked his tongue. "I swear, you’re just asking for..."

"Asking for what?" she asked innocently, deliberately showing him her uninjured hand while hiding the scraped one behind her back.

"You’ll find out tonight," he said menacingly.

"..."

Wyatt Sterling quickly yanked her scraped hand out from behind her back. The blood that had oozed out earlier was beginning to clot, but her palm was still red and slightly swollen.

With a dark expression on his face, Wyatt Sterling led her back inside to treat the wound.

As Wyatt Sterling sprayed antiseptic on her wound, he told her to brace herself. Alice couldn’t help but smile. "Third Uncle, antiseptic spray doesn’t sting. Alcohol does."

Wyatt Sterling grunted and continued his work.

Alice watched his focused expression, remembering how he had applied ointment to her neck at the hospital that morning in the very same way. The atmosphere between them felt surprisingly warm.

’He must be in a good mood right now.’

Not wanting to waste such a good opportunity, Alice immediately spoke up. "Third Uncle, I’d like to go out for a little while later."

Wyatt Sterling didn’t look up. "Where?"

Alice said, "Zoe came to Washington looking for me. I want to see her so she won’t worry."

Once he finished with the wound, he set the antiseptic aside and looked up at her. "Did your friend come alone?"

Holden Locke had come too, but Alice wasn’t sure how Wyatt Sterling would react. Afraid he would object, she lied, "Mhm, Zoe came by herself."

Wyatt Sterling said flatly, "I’ll go with you."
