After Breaking Up, I Married the General-Chapter 89 - 88: Group Guiding 2
"It even has an effect on me, So, it would surely have an effect on everyone," Layton Lewis said as soon as he appeared and walked next to Ryzel.
"How long have you been here?" Ryzel asked.
"It should be after a minute you started playing," Layton Lewis answered.
Layton Lewis entered the spaceship after making sure that the rest of the Zergs could immediately cleaned up by his soldiers.
The higher level Zergs were already dead and only a few low level Zergs was left wondering around so he was assured to go back to the battleship.
He still wanted to have time to show Ryzel around, so it is better for him to start his work earlier to have more time later on.
He still needs to process a lot of things after such a battle, so he needed to start doing them earlier. Layton Lewis needs to read and check a lot of reports about the battle and also need to do the final report to be submitted to the marshal and to the president.
Layton Lewis rushed back to the battleship and as soon as he put storm back in his mecha bracelet he heard a soothing sound from a flute.
His mental sea also received a drizzle of comfort from the mental power floating around with the sound of the flute.
He immediately recognized the gentle mental around his mental sea, so he immediately looked for the source.
Layton Lewis saw Ryzel playing a flute with his eyes closed, fully focused on what he is playing.
The song he was playing wasn’t something he recognized but he could still understand the song because as soon as he immersed himself in the song it is as if he was suddenly transported in a very tranquil forest which is very relaxing.
Together with the calming tone, scenery, and mental power Layton Lewis could feel his mental sea calming down a little bit.
He also saw the soldiers on the first floor with wide eyes as they all silently enjoyed the song together with the calming mental power it brought over.
They were all clearly astonished with the calmness it brought to their mental sea, but it couldn’t be hidden as they were clearly more relaxed.
As the general he knew he was clear about the conditions of his soldiers the most.
After battle there would always be some sentinels that would go into mania because of the lack of guidance.
And if the battle went on for days some sentinels would even go into mania on the battlefield and chose to self-destruct themselves taking the lives of a lot of Zergs.
He could always see them but couldn’t do more for them because the number of guides was truly lacking.
Seeing a lot of soldiers calming down without anyone going into mania was really great.
Layton Lewis stayed for a while to listen and as soon as he felt that the song was ending immediately bypassed the surprised soldiers and went to where Ryzel was.
"Is it really effective even for you?" Ryzel asked again for confirmation.
"Yes, it was effective. Just look at the state of those soldiers. You can immediately see that your group guiding was successful."
"This is good. I just don’t know how effective it is?"
It is the first group guiding for Ryzel, so he didn’t know how effective it was.
Group guiding isn’t as effective as individual guiding because the mental power would be divided to many listeners along the way.
"Mervin could check on them later. You can know how effective your guiding is after a round of interviews and tests later on."
"Ok I’ll wait for the result."
They would surely do the test as soon as possible as they also need to know how effective his group guiding is.
"Before you get busy, let’s go back to your room first. I need to check your mental sea."
"Okay," Layton Lewis agreed. He then, turned to Mervin and said, "proceed with what you are doing, submit the usual report and don’t forget to include the effectivity result of Ryzel’s group guiding."
"Okay, don’t worry. You can go and rest. I will be submitting the report later," Mervin said.
Ryzel and Layton Lewis left Mervin and went back to their room.
As soon as they were in the room Ryzel immediately let Layton Lewis sit on the sofa and let his mental power in Layton’s mental sea.
In Layton Lewis’s mental sea, Ryzel saw that the pollutants that were already settled down were agitated and were starting to move around again.
The pollutants in Layton Lewis’ mind were also moving to the areas he had already cleaned up.
The pollutants were really persistent, as soon as they some were added they immediately started moving to invade other areas.
Ryzel gently channeled his mental power to Layton Lewis’ mental sea and started sorting out his mental sea and strengthening the binding of his mental power to the pollutants he can’t remove yet.
The binding of his mental power lessened because of time and mostly because of the new disturbance of pollutants which entered because of the battle.
Space already has strong radiation that causes pollution to the mental sea of sentinels and with the addition of the Zergs who can radiate pollutants on their own, there would always be pollutants that would enter a sentinel’s mental sea.
With the addition of the pollutants, they disturbed the original balance which was achieved with the help of the mental lock.
Ryzel strengthens the hold of his mental power to the pollutants he still can’t clean. After doing that he cleaned a portion of Layton’s mental sea again.
"As you saw, I cleaned up some of the pollutants in your mental sea, but it was only a small area compared to what I did in the past sessions because I focused on strengthening the hold of our mental lock to the pollutants in your mind.
But as expected it would still be better for you not to lead the battle personally for the time being. Your mental sea is still easily agitated.
Your state would be better if I cleaned up more areas in your mental sea. So, as long as you can it would be better for you not to go near contamination sources."
Ryzel knew that as a general it was unavoidable for Layton Lewis to avoid going into battles, but it would still be better for him to command in the rear for a while.
"Okay. No need to worry, that kind of Zerg attack doesn’t happen all the time. Most of the time there would only be small scale attacks. For those attacks my subordinates are enough to annihilate them."
"That would be good. It would be easier to sort out your mental sea without additional agitation," Ryzel said and sat beside Layton Lewis.
"I’m done sorting out your mental sea for the time being. Are you going back to your office?"
"Yes, I’ll be going there after a while but before that, I want to talk about something else."
"What is it?" Ryzel asked.
"Thank you for performing a group guiding a while ago. If not for you, we would lose some of our sentinels again."
"No need to say thank you. It is my duty as a guide to do that for them. Besides, I already saw them so I can’t just leave them be."
"After displaying what you are capable of today, I can’t delay the request for your guidance anymore.
I planned to at least give you more time to adapt here in the ninth army before doing something else.
However, what you did today was surely already reported to other armies.
And after this day, as the battle was already over, your mental power level would be known to those in different armies and to those people with power and connections.
After knowing the level of your mental power, a lot of sentinels will surely submit requests for you to guide them," Layton Lewis said and paused.
"Well, I know it would eventually happen. So, I don’t really mind as long as I will still have time to study potions."
"Then, I will arrange 2 sentinels a day only. If it is severe, then you only need to guide one for the rest of the day.
I would like our soldiers to be the first. Is that okay?"
"Yes, of course that’s how it should be. I know the ninth army have a lot of 2S sentinels, and as your partner the ninth army should naturally be the place where I should start guiding."
"Then, I will give you the list later on. By the way your guards would be assembling tomorrow."
"Are they already ready tomorrow?"
Ryzel asked, knowing that all the soldiers were busy and tired because of the battle that had just ended.
"Don’t worry about it. Those people should be fully rested by tomorrow."
