After Breaking Up, I Married the General-Chapter 88 - 87: Group Guiding
After waking up Ryzel continued watching the battle which was nearing its end. After many hours of watching, he could finally see the end of the Zergs attack.
Ryzel could finally see most of the soldiers retreating to their spaceships.
"Ryzel, do you want to welcome Lewis? We could go to the entrance to welcome him," Mervin said while looking at Ryzel.
"Aren’t you busy?"
"It’s okay, the battle is already finished. I don’t need to continue staying here anymore as it is time to count the damages.
Most of the reports would be done in 30 minutes so I still have time to rest for a while before handling the aftermath of the battle," Mervin replied.
"Then, let’s go and welcome them back."
Ryzel knew that Layton Lewis would be busy dealing with the aftermath of the battle together with Mervin. So, he wanted to check the state of Layton Lewis’ mental sea first.
He wanted to check how much pollution Layton Lewis acquired again after two days battle.
He would sort Layton Lewis’ mental sea to ensure that his hard work for the past few days wouldn’t be in vain.
After close exposure to one of the sources of pollutants he was sure that Layton Lewis mental sea would have additional pollutants in his mental sea.
Ryzel decided to welcome Layton Lewis for him to immediately sort out his mental sea as he would be busy again later on.
After giving some instructions to the soldiers Mervin lead Ryzel out of the command center, "Let’s go Ryzel."
Mervin led Ryzel to the elevator going to the first floor and both of them walked to the ship’s entrance.
While they were getting near the entrance of the ship, he could see a lot of soldiers going near the entrance of the ship.
"Where are we going to stay?" Ryzel asked.
While walking to the entrance, he could see that the soldiers were very busy. He didn’t want to bother them so it would be better for them to
Mervin led him to climb the stairs for them to go ten meters above the first floor which is at the same level as most mechas.
It seems that the first floor is also where mechas were repaired, that’s why it also has an elevation where they could observe and walk around.
As soon as they went up Ryzel could finally clearly see what was happening on the first floor. The first floor was buzzling. A lot of people were doing different things.
Numerous soldiers were busy helping one another as a large number of mechas were making their way back to the ship.
When they entered the ship, those with undamaged mechas put their mechas to their space bracelets so that those who came after them could enter more quickly.
Those with a lot of damage to their mechas were quickly assisted by others for mechas to be transported where the mechas could be repaired.
However, Ryzel’s attention was quickly drawn to those who were hurriedly distributing stabilizing potions to soldiers who looked as if they were already on the verge of mania and to a few guides who were sorting some soldiers who were on the verge of mania.
"Here’s the soothing potion!"
"Can you please guide him first; he can’t hold on anymore!"
"We need more soothing potions here!"
"He’s badly injured he can’t stabilize his mental sea anymore!"
"Please hold on!"
"Distribute the soothing potions quickly!"
"We know but I am not yet done sorting them! please wait in line!"
"We barely have some soothing potions anymore!"
"Distribute them to those with more serious condition first!"
Ryzel heard a lot of voices coming from different directions. A lot of soldiers were busy assisting others who were on the verge of mania. He also saw medics who quickly distributed soothing potions and stabilizing potions around.
Ryzel saw a lot of soldiers with serious conditions that needed to be immediately needed soothing potions and also a lot of soldiers that needed immediate guiding.
However, there were only a few guides who could sort out the mental sea of the sentinels.
Ryzel could only see 20 guides sorting the mental sea of the soldiers, which is obviously not enough.
"Are they the only guides in the ship?" Ryzel couldn’t help but ask.
"Yes, aside from you they were the only once in this ship. Most of the guides in the ninth army were left to those ships that remained here in the frontline."
"I see. So, is this how serious it is every time you face the Zergs?" Ryzel asked again while looking at the injured soldiers and at those who were on the verge of mania.
Those with injuries were at least okay as they could be treated immediately with healing instruments or with the healing cabin. Normal doctors could also treat their wounds immediately.
But for those who were nearly having their mania it can’t be cured by them. Some could still be delayed with the help of soothing potions and stabilizing potions however some can’t hold on any longer.
"Of course not, if this happens every time then no one would be left in the ninth army any longer. It’s just that this time the number of Zergs were more and we lack potions," Mervin said seriously.
Ryzel knew that Mervin wasn’t pleased with what he was seeing just like himself, but he didn’t say anything else.
Ryzel already saw Mervin distributing all the supplies they got from the capital to the other ships as soon as they arrived so he knew Mervin didn’t say anything else as they already provided what they could to their soldiers.
They gave proper equipment and potions to all of the soldiers so Ryzel also couldn’t say anything to them.
The lack of guides in the ninth army wasn’t really their fault either so Ryzel couldn’t say anything to them either.
Ryzel looked around the first floor again which gathered a lot of soldiers that were nearly having mania and to those who still haven’t received potions and sighed.
He knew he wasn’t obligated to help as he already provided a lot of potions for them to use but he doesn’t feel goof looking at those soldiers who valiantly fought the Zergs and were now suffering from pollutants.
He doesn’t know how much he could help as he still hasn’t tried group guiding with such a large number of people, but he still took out the flute from his space bracelet.
As soon as Mervin saw him took out the flute he asked, "Are you going to try group guiding?"
"Yes, but I’m not sure how helpful it will be."
"It’s okay, no matter how small it it is, it will still be useful to them. However, it is your first-time group guiding, right?"
Ryzel nodded.
"Then, as soon as you feel that your mental power is nearly consumed you need to stop immediately," Mervin warned.
"I know, don’t worry."
Ryzel knew that Mervin was worried that he might force himself and drain his mental power which was always a common occurrence to those who are group guiding for a large crowd for the first time.
He knew that he couldn’t spend all his mental power in group guiding as he still needed to check the mental sea of Layton Lewis.
Ryzel chose a very calming traditional song he was practicing and started playing.
He didn’t know how much mental power he should release with the song, so he started mixing only a few strands of mental power in the song he was playing.
While he was playing the song he also observed the complexion of those sentinels on the first floor to see how effective it is.
Seeing that the effect was minimal he increased his mental power output letting it mix with the song he was playing. After seeing that it was having an effect Ryzel maintained releasing the same amount of mental power while playing the song.
Ryzel closed his eyes to focus and continued playing the song until the end.
After finishing the song Ryzel opened his eyes to see the effect of his first group guiding in a big crowd.
He looked through the sentinels on the first floor and saw that everyone was looking at him.
He didn’t care about the stares directed at him but instead he observed the complexion of all the sentinels below.
Ryzel saw that those that were nearly having a mania already have a calm expression.
"It seems that it was effective," Ryzel muttered with relief.
"Of course it was effective. You could even say that it is extremely well effective," Mervin said happily.
"It is even effective for me so of course it would definitely be effective with everyone downstairs," Mervin added.
Mervin was a 2S level sentinel which means that if the song was effective for him then it is right to say that it will be very effective for the others.
Knowing that it was really effective Ryzel let out a small smile.
