Some Zergs have the ability to jump across space besides their ability to safely travel through space without any cover.

Because of this discovery they really can’t afford to let the Zergs cross any of their borders, especially those high level Zergs that could jump through space with other Zergs.

Once the Zergs breach the frontlines with their ability they could easily attack the planets where people live in.

The ninth army has always been the army responsible for guarding the most dangerous front in their galaxy. So, they also have the highest casualty rate compared to other armies.

The soldiers that would be admitted would be sentinels and ordinary people who had the resolve to die in every battle they would have as the situation in the frontlines was always changing.

All of them have different resolves as to why they are in the ninth army, but Ryzel could still see that all of them were calm in the face of their difficult situation.

"Can they always maintain such a morale and calmness?"

"Of course not. Sometimes some of them would have a breakdown, especially when their mental pollution was very high, but it only happened a few times. At least the situation can already be said to be a very huge improvement.

With Layton Lewis as a signboard of course their morale would rise and the number of those people having a breakdown would lessen.

Ordinary citizens were all inspired by Layton Lewis. So, the soldiers who are looking at Layton Lewis at close range would surely be more inspired compared to those who can’t see the actions of Layton Lewis freely.

The soldiers could surely see how Layton Lewis was doing in every battle he participated in, making them believe in Layton Lewis more.

As they were still standing on the window looking at the situation outside, they saw that Layton Lewis and those following him released their quantum beast to join the battle.

Maximus was of course the most dazzling as was the largest and also the most efficient in killing a lot of Zergs.

Maximus killed a lot of Zergs as soon as he was out of Layton Lewis mental sea. With just a swipe of his paws Maximus already killed a lot of Zergs attacking them just like what Layton Lewis was doing with his mech storm.

"So, Maximus really recovered already?"

"Yes, I healed Maximus first."

"When both of you mentioned it a while ago, I’m not even that sure I am hearing it correctly. I haven’t seen Maximus for years; I heard his condition wasn’t good and he can’t get out of Lewis mental sea because he was fighting the pollutants in it."

"Yes, when I saw Maximus, he was fighting pollutants. He should be one of the reasons why even though the central area of Layton was severely polluted he didn’t lose control."

"The central area of Lewis was severely polluted!"

"You didn’t know?"

Ryzel thought that they already knew the details of Layton’s condition, so he just told him about it.

"Of course not. We only knew that the mental sea of Lewis was severely polluted, but we didn’t know it had already reached the center of his mental sea.

The guides and the instruments can’t check his mental sea, so we only knew that his mental sea was severely polluted according to the data collected. So how was he?"

"Don’t worry I already sorted out the central area of his mental sea for the past few days."

They were leading all the other soldiers in fighting the Zergs that kept coming.

Layton Lewis swept a lot of Zergs with just a swipe of the sword he was holding while Maximus moved around brandishing his claws to all the Zergs he passed by.

They moved very fast and killed a lot of Zergs as in just a few minutes they were out.

"Sir all the quantum cannons are already charged!" A soldier shouted reminding Mervin who was talking to Ryzel.

"I’ll be commanding the bombardment first. I will be back in a while."

"Don’t worry about me and accompany me; I will just stay here. You can focus on your own task."

"Okay, after this I can properly tour you around," Mervin said seriously before going back to his job.

"Ready all the quantum cannons!"

"All quantum cannons are ready!"

Ryzel watched as the ship bombarded the Zergs coming from a distance.

They didn’t fire near the place where the mechs were fighting but instead fire at a distance away.

They continued to open fire before all their energy was consumed, leaving only a little bit left for emergency uses.

With the help of the bombardment of the battleships the soldiers were able to take more breather as the Zergs they were fighting was lessened.

Ryzel watched the battle go on for the whole day, and even just drank nutrient solution so that he wouldn’t need to disturb others just to go to the cafeteria and have his meal.

He knew that Lewis placed him in the command center and near Mervin for his protection so he wouldn’t go anywhere to risk his life.

Ryzel just continued watching what was happening on the battlefield. He already watched what was happening for hours and saw a lot of Zergs die at the hands of the soldiers, but he also saw some mechs being torn apart by Zergs.

Ryzel doesn’t know why but he just kept watching how the battle was going until he was forced to rest by Mervin.

When night came, he was forced by Mervin to rest in a small room inside the command center. The room was obviously a place where Layton Lewis stayed as he still could see some of his uniform hung at the side.

"Don’t worry this room is where Lewis stayed at when he was too busy and only needed to rest for a bit before needing to command.

You need to rest well; you can continue watching the battlefield tomorrow morning.

I don’t want to be scolded by Lewis once he’s back, so you need to rest early. Besides your physique is too low so you need to rest already."

"Okay, then I will rest first," Ryzel said.

He knew that his physique was really too low. He can’t be like them who could still perform well even without sleeping for days.
