However, Ryzel could see that the mechs trying to the front to replace their companions were also busy being attacked by Zergs. Their progress going to the front is slowed down because of the Zergs attacks.

"Team 1 unable to support! Requesting for immediate back up!"

"Team 17 requesting for immediate support!"

As Ryzel was looking at the sight in front of him he also heard the reports they are reporting to Mervin.

"Support will come any minute. Let them hold on as long as they could."

As soon as Mervin finished saying what he said, Ryzel saw the mechs from the ship going into different places in the battlefield.

They immediately went to the places where support is badly needed.

All the mechs that were just out of the ship immediately went to the front letting the soldiers who were fighting for a long time have a time to breathe.

Ryzel could see that the most skilled soldiers were the ones personally led by Layton Lewis. They skillfully killed a lot of Zergs as soon as they were out of the ship and leading all the others in fighting the Zergs.

The most dazzling mech was of course Storm controlled by Layton Lewis.

Ryzel watched some of the news featuring Layton Lewis fighting the Zergs which was amazing. However, watching it in close range was even more amazing than just watching it on screen.

Ryzel watched how Layton Lewis and his soldiers fight the Zergs continuously until Mervin interrupted.

"Ryzel why don’t you take seat. It will be tiring to just stand there continuously."

Ryzel saw Mervin carrying a chair for him.

"Thanks."

"No need to say thanks. Lewis would surely scold me if he knew I didn’t even give you a chair to sit on," Mervin said with a smile.

"Will this battle really end earlier?"

"Yes, the monitor already detected the end of the Zergs swarm. The battle should be finished in a day," Mervin said confidently.

"Is the ninth army always facing this kind of battle every time?" Ryzel asked.

Looking at how the ninth army soldiers react, it seemed that they were already accustomed to facing a lot of Zergs. Even if they were at a disadvantage, they still fought back the Zergs without fear.

"Not at all. Most of the time we faced smaller number of Zergs and sometimes we also faced several times bigger than the number we faced today."

"The ninth army is amazing. All the soldiers are brave enough to face a lot of Zergs without even knowing when the battle would end," Ryzel praised.

Hearing what Mervin said, Ryzel didn’t know what to say. He knew that Mervin said was right, the soldiers needed to be ready to face death in every battle, but it was just sad thinking about it.

The era they are in now was not good. Almost all the people in the Federation are required to have military service in their life after their studied for at least 5 years. Only a few people with different talents are exceptions.

Sentinels were also forced to join the army and didn’t have the freedom to choose their career. Because of their strong physiques all of them are required to join the army as if they don’t have other aspirations.

Compared to normal people and sentinels’, guides have the least freedom as they were the fewest in number.

All the people currently living in the federation are all forced to do something as part of their responsibility.

Even if they don’t want to do them as long as they wanted to live, they needed to do their part for humanities survival.

Even if they don’t want to because of the existence of Zergs they can’t enjoy what they want freely.

The surrounding galaxies were also being attacked by Zergs, but they currently don’t have any energy to reach out for communication.

They knew that there were also lifeforms in different galaxies, but they hadn’t reached out to them, so the federation also didn’t bother to care about them as they were still busy with the Zergs invasion.

Humans already have a hard time dealing with the Zergs, so they didn’t want to add more enemies to themselves if it turns out that those lifeforms in other galaxies were also a threat like the Zergs.

When they were monitoring the movements of the Zergs they knew that the Zergs were also attacking other galaxies.

It can be seen that the appetite of Zergs was really big and they weren’t picky as long as there is energy.

They knew that the Zergs were all absorbing energy in their surroundings which is why they kept attacking other places because of their need for energy.

The Zergs doesn’t care about anything as long as they could get energy for them to use.

They often leave all their surroundings an empty shell once they stop by it.

Once they stayed a planet the planet would often be barren before the Zergs would look for other planets because they already absorbed all the energy in the planet living it dead.

Ryzel read a report that all the planets in the frontlines which was frequently attacked by the Zergs don’t have a lot of resources because the Zergs absorb them which will make the planet dormant, and it would take hundreds of years before it could develop resources again as long as they aren’t frequently visited.

The Zergs are aggressively attacking them because of the rich energy from different planets in their galaxy. Besides their galaxy was also one of the ways where they needed to pass through if they wanted to go to some galaxies behind them.

The frontline the ninth army was currently defending was at the forefront of where the Zergs always pass by before they could go to other places.

They needed to always defend it because ones it was breached it would be difficult for them to defend against the Zergs as the way to their galaxy would be fully opened.

The Zergs also have a way for immediate transport but it only works for areas they have already been into as observed through out the years, so they needed to be extremely careful.
