Chapter 779: Chapter 779 Favoritism

The next two dishes are even more troublesome. Half an hour ago, the old lady came in and ordered a few more dishes. How can she possibly make so many dishes alone? She’s going to be exhausted!

Cherry Lewis looked at Isabella Weaver standing behind Ben Hunter, feeling so resentful she could bite her tongue!

What does Ben Hunter mean, asking her to be a servant and cook for Isabella Weaver? Forcing her to seem one level inferior to Isabella Weaver!

"Grandpa, with so many dishes, surely you can’t expect me to make them all by myself? We might not be able to eat until it gets dark."

Cherry Lewis forced herself to smile: "This opportunity to show filial piety shouldn’t be mine alone. Isabella, come on, let’s make dinner together for Grandpa and Grandma to show our filial respect."

Just as Isabella was about to speak, the old man straightforwardly declined on her behalf: "The smell of oil and smoke is so heavy in there, what if it irritates her? Besides, Isabella can’t cook. Harry usually doesn’t let her into the kitchen, afraid she’ll set it on fire. You can do it yourself, isn’t it better that no one bothers you? Eating after it’s dark is okay, we have plenty of time to wait!"

Cherry Lewis couldn’t muster a smile anymore; her face became noticeably unpleasant.

The heavy smell of oil and smoke? Afraid it’ll irritate Isabella Weaver, but it’s okay if it irritates Cherry!

"Cherry, what’s with your expression? Insisting on dragging others in to help you, are you trying to slack off? Or do you not actually want to show filial respect? Are we not good enough for you and the old lady?"

The old man’s expression also darkened: "Fine, you’re not a real granddaughter anyway, your words sound good but you’re just talking, never really intending to be filial to us! Go, make food for your own grandmother, she’s the only one who can eat your dishes. The old lady and I have no such fortune!"

He spoke, looking at the old lady in the living room: "Old lady, did you see that? She thinks you’re an outsider, so don’t treat her with genuine care anymore; she has her own grandmother, you mean nothing!"

Cherry Lewis’ face turned pale, she hurriedly spoke: "That’s not true, Grandpa misunderstood me! I’m here cooking, I truly want to be filial to you and Grandma!"

The old lady came over, looked at Ben Hunter, then Cherry, nodded at her: "Just focus on cooking. Isabella, Little Zoe, both of you go and assist Cherry. Do whatever she asks, no slacking off!"

Isabella Weaver wouldn’t listen to her. She stood unmoving beside the old man, looking indifferently at Cherry in the kitchen.

Ben Hunter called her in the afternoon, asked her over for a meal and mentioned Cherry was also here. She was puzzled why the old man was putting her and Cherry together.

Now she understood, Ben Hunter was teaching Cherry a lesson, giving her face!

If she had known it was Cherry cooking, she would have ordered a few more complex dishes earlier.

"What to do today, having Cherry, having Isabella help? What if the dishes turn out bad, who’s to blame? Old lady, not to criticize but you’re too partial!"

"I’m partial? Aren’t you the one who’s partial? Asking Cherry to make dinner for so many people alone, trying to exhaust her?"

Ben Hunter glanced at her, spoke calmly: "Then this way, one day each. Today Cherry leads, tomorrow it’s Little Zoe, the day after tomorrow it’s Isabella. Let’s see which of the three cooks the best, alright?"

The old lady thought for a moment, soon became happy.

She had previously struggled to find a way to deal with Isabella Weaver, now she finally has a solution!
