After Betrayal: Lightning Marriage to Mr. Enigmatic-Chapter 778: Should we want a great-grandson or a great-granddaughter?
Ben Hunter had the bodyguards move everything else, but he personally carried the box of Pu-erh tea, unable to let it go, he caressed it lovingly, took a whiff, and squinted with pleasure: "Ah, it’s truly a treasure!"
This box of Pu-erh is aged, with a thick cake body, a top-notch tea, preserved exceptionally well.
The original packaging was a bamboo parcel, like a small barrel; the auction added an antique-styled box for extra protection.
He remembered clearly that Isabella Weaver spent eight hundred thousand on this box of Pu-erh.
Despite having tasted all kinds of delicacies in his lifetime, Ben Hunter had truly never had tea priced at eight hundred thousand!
Holding the tea, he felt a bit reluctant to drink it, considering whether he should save it and occasionally take it out to smell it. After all, this is a consumable, and once it’s gone, that’s it.
Isabella Weaver saw the old gentleman’s fondness for the tea and couldn’t help but smile; she knew he would appreciate such things.
She herself would never splurge on such expensive tea for drinking and doubted she’d appreciate it even if she did; the old gentleman surely understands, so gifting it to him is perfectly suitable.
Actually, the tea is more valuable for collection; the older the Pu-erh, the more valuable it becomes, another few years and its worth may exceed a million.
Yet the Hunter Family doesn’t lack money; Isabella Weaver still hopes the old gentleman, while he’s in good health, gets to savor all the premium goods.
"Grandpa, enjoy it completely. When this one is gone, I’ll get you an even better one, I’ve heard there’s an auction next month featuring vintage Pu-erh!"
"Good, good, good!" 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
Ben Hunter was joyfully flattered by his granddaughter-in-law.
Look, girls are indeed considerate and caring.
Initially, he was keen on having a great-grandson, but now he’s conflicted; a great-granddaughter seems nice as well. He’s never raised a little girl; if there could be a little girl babbling around him, calling him great-grandfather in her crisp childhood voice, life seems especially beautiful.
Isabella Weaver supported the old gentleman’s arm, accompanying him inside while nodding to greet Zoe Lewis without seeming too friendly, lest it raise suspicions.
Zoe Lewis retained her timid demeanor, hiding all her edges and strength like a pushover, not speaking much with Isabella Weaver, innocently carrying a small basket behind the old gentleman.
Ben Hunter now utterly despised Cherry Lewis but still held a favorable opinion of Zoe Lewis.
Most importantly, Zoe Lewis’s father, Evan Lewis, had early on aligned with the Hunter Family, making him one of their own, hence pulling Zoe Lewis away from Cherry Lewis so she wouldn’t assist her.
"Isabella, what do you want to eat? I’ll have someone make it for you."
"Anything is fine, Grandpa, I’m not picky."
"Surely there must be a few favorites? We’re family, no need to be formal with Grandpa."
Isabella Weaver laughed awkwardly, deciding not to hold back: "I want to have corn shrimp balls, steamed crab meat lion head, and white sauce scallop and mushroom soup!"
She ordered three dishes at once, thinking it should suffice, then watched Ben Hunter head to the kitchen: "Cherry, Isabella just ordered three dishes, they’re all quite simple, cook them quickly without delay!"
He repeated the names of the three dishes, and the smile Cherry Lewis had plastered on instantly crumbled.
Are these three dishes simple? Come on!
The first dish, shrimp balls, takes considerable effort just to handle the shrimp — removing the shells, deveining, slicing the back, and this has to be deep-fried, leaving her covered in oil smoke and risking burns!
