Chapter 763: Chapter 763 Umbrella

Secretary Landon couldn’t allow their CEO to attend the auction with a bruised forehead. This auction was going to be broadcast live, and when it was their company’s turn, the camera would inevitably focus on Isabella Weaver.

Usually, bruises are just red and swollen on the first day, while the second and third days they become more purple and apparent. Isabella’s forehead injury was now at its most noticeable stage.

After a busy morning and having lunch, Secretary Landon found a makeup artist to ensure Isabella’s bruises were well-covered.

The makeup artist didn’t seem to think it was a big deal. She opened her makeup case and, after some dabbing and blending, half an hour later, Isabella’s forehead showed no signs of bruising.

Isabella looked in the mirror and was very satisfied. Every makeup artist truly has a masterful touch!

She didn’t want to meet anyone with a bruised forehead, to avoid any misunderstandings that Harry Hunter might have domestically abused her, which would be sensational news!

She wondered if Cherry Lewis would show up today. After causing a scene at the Lewis Family yesterday, she thought Cherry might either call the police or make a big fuss, but surprisingly, by noon, there was no reaction.

"A barking dog doesn’t bite!"

The more silent it gets, the more likely she’s planning something big.

However, she didn’t seem to have much to worry about. Harry Hunter not only sent her a bunch of bodyguards but even brought Ben Hunter to protect her!

"Grandpa, it’s about time. Shall we go?"

Isabella smiled at the spirited old man on the sofa, reached out to help him, and they left the office together.

Indeed, the old man no longer went to his own company and instead came to hers! He had arrived just after lunch!

Ben Hunter had already seen the bruises on her forehead clearly before. Although they were covered with makeup now and not visible, he still felt apologetic.

No wonder his grandson was so furious. Isabella really suffered from the hit, and yet she had not uttered a single complaint.

"Isabella, I’m apologizing on behalf of that old lady. She’s becoming senile and was instigated by someone else. Don’t take it to heart."

"Grandpa, it’s okay. You don’t need to apologize. Marrying into the Hunter Family is my good fortune. I’ve lacked parental love since I was a child, and now that you’re caring for me, I’m very content!"

Ben Hunter, despite his age, felt a pang of emotion at her words.

She was willing to endure enormous pressure, even if it meant being criticized by the world, to send her own father to jail, showing how badly Christopher Weaver treated her!

Her words about lacking parental affection since childhood evidently rang true.

Ben was supported by her as he walked, sighing inwardly at what a wonderful child she was—so sensible, considerate, and filial!

Standing tall at six feet, he was much taller than Isabella, and since he was in great health, he didn’t actually need assistance. Normally, to appear formidable, he would refuse to be helped, but he quite enjoyed being supported by Isabella!

Marrying a virtuous wife, his grandson had indeed chosen well!

In the future, whether the children look like the grandson or the granddaughter-in-law, he’d be satisfied either way!

Ben Hunter strode confidently, and all the way into the auction hall, he walked swiftly with Isabella, his steps steady like a man much younger than his years due to his joyful mood.

His reputation was immense and his status lofty. Once he entered the venue, countless people approached him, warmly but respectfully addressing him as "Old Master Hunter" and engaging him in conversation.

Ben Hunter responded to each one. He was much more tactful than his grandson, whether he knew them well or not, he’d exchange a few words and take the opportunity to introduce his granddaughter-in-law to them.
