Grey was already mid-air, standing close to Sir Astarot; the moment he heard this warning, he moved even closer to Sir Astarot. Anyone who could make Sir Astarot issue a warning isn’t just a top powerhouse but also among the best. If someone of that level wanted to kill Grey, as long as no one protected him, he was a hundred percent certain that he would not last two seconds against such a figure. Even a Peak Sovereign wouldn’t necessarily last longer than a few seconds. Given Grey’s means, there’s a chance that he might even be faster than a few Peak Sovereigns.

The old man from the Vaergahl Family didn’t need to bother about his safety, after all, he was a top expert. Unless Sir Astarot backstabbed him in front of other attackers, it would be very difficult for anyone to kill me. With his strength, even if he was besieged by a couple of experts on the same stage as himself, as long as he wasn’t fully surrounded, then his chances of leaving his life were very high. Of course, the possibility of leaving unscathed is out of the question, but keeping his life is all that is important.

The trio didn’t wait long, as the murky water on the marsh started to boil. At first, Grey thought maybe a powerful expert was using the fire element under this murky water, his expression however, he took a turn when he noticed that not just one place was showing these signs; rather, a large area of the water was acting in the same manner as if boiling. The truth however, is far from that. The water isn’t actually boiling, rather, it is vibrating almost in the same manner as when it’s boiling.

A large head appeared from the water, the head was around two meters or so, and before anything, the eyes of the head appeared. The pupils were pitch black in golden eyeballs, but what drew Grey’s attention was the rectangular black pupils. Looking straight at it, he felt his heart race as a sense of danger enveloped him.

After the first head popped out, three more popped out. The rest of the body soon followed suit, allowing Grey to see the complete figure of the owner of these heads. When he first saw the heads, he already had a guess, so when he saw them step out fully, he didn’t look too surprised. Read the latest on novelbuddy

Four, over ten meters large Toads, rose from the murky water, each of them staring in the direction Grey’s trio was located.

Other than the first Toad with golden eyeballs, the other three had different colored eyeballs as well, with the same pitch black somewhat rectangular pupils, only the other three didn’t have purely rectangular pupils, instead, they had different variations. The leading Toad was brownish, with bumps on its back. Other than its golden eyes, the most telling thing about this Toad was the bumps on its body.

The other three Toads, although not as large as the leading Toad, didn’t fall behind in terms of uniqueness. All three of them had varying colors, and even from a distance of over a few hundred meters, Grey could feel the air he was breathing showing signs of being poisoned.

The leading Toad looked at Sir Astarot for some time, before his gaze shifted to the old man from the Vaergahl Family as well as Grey.

"I know you had close ties with humans, but bringing them to this King’s territory is no different from a slap on my face." The Toad spoke after the momentary silence, its gaze turned extremely cold as it added, "Leave the human kid behind and leave."

"I know your history with humans, but this isn’t the time to bring that up." Sir Astarot sighed, knowing fully well that today’s visit would not go down well. He looked at the Brown Toad and said in a solemn voice, "A great calamity is coming."

"For humans, what does that have to do with us?" The Brown Toad, like most Magical Beasts in the Inner Court, was aware of the issue humans were dealing with, and it actually derived pleasure in it.

"It has everything to do with us. Once the humans are dealt with, do you think those things will be satisfied with just their territory?" Sir Astarot wasn’t in a hurry as he knew it would take some convincing to make this Toad agree to help humans.

This Brown Toad is the leader of the Toad Clan, just like Sir Astarot himself is the leader of the Dragon Clan. If this Toad refuses to lead the Toad Clan to stand with the humans, there is almost no chance that any Toad will make any contribution to this battle.

"Hmph! If they dare have any ideas about this King’s territory, then they’ll definitely suffer a fate worse than death." The Toad Clan Leader snorted coldly. It didn’t seem frightened by these Gnomes that might be able to wipe out human powerhouses.

"Why wait until then if we can act now and make sure they don’t have such ideas. As you know, the humans are already preparing for the calamity, and I know you’re already preparing for the potential outcome of this war." Sir Astarot didn’t move his gaze away from the Brown Toad.

"Astarot, I’ve already told you I have no intention of working with humans." The Brown Toad said angrily.

From its voice and attitude, Grey could already infer that this Toad certainly has a life-and-death hatred for humans. Thinking about what might’ve happened to it, he couldn’t help but wonder what humans might have possibly done to it.

As if aware of Grey’s thoughts, the Toad Clan Leader raised one of its webbed feet. Grey could already tell that this was a Toad that spent most of its time in water from the webbed feet, what Grey didn’t expect however, was that after the Toad raised its first webbed feet, Grey’s eyes subconsciously moved to the other one, and to his shock, there were no signs of it having webbed feet on that one. It was as if it never existed.
