The next few days, Grey accompanied Sir Astarot and the old man from the Vaergahl Family to visit multiple Magical Beast’s clans, hoping to see if there were others interested in helping out humans in this fight. Other than Dragons, they’ve actually seen two more clans willing to help out. Well, counting out the Snakes and Lizards who almost couldn’t refuse Sir Astarot’s request, two other Magical Beast’s clans have willingly offered to help. Having five clans out of the multiple clans agree to help out didn’t look good from Grey’s perspective. Even with the newly added Magical Beast’s clans, there was still no way they could match up to the Gnomes in terms of strength. This is without even having to add the fact that Gnomes could turn their dead opponents into their allies. Grey didn’t know if it was possible for Gnomes to do the same thing they’re doing to humans to Magical Beasts, but given how it could work on even Gnomes, he didn’t think that it was out of the picture.

His ability to control people weaker than he was is a more advanced branch of the Gnome’s ability to turn dead people into puppets. Grey, being the one to meet that Necromancer who managed to evolve the method of controlling dead people was a blessing in disguise to humans. If, for instance, a top Necromancer or Gnome, were the one who found that Necromancer and learned his method of controlling people, then humans would’ve been in a whole lot of trouble.

Grey is the only one who could achieve this at the moment, yet he was able to cause such havoc in the Gnome world. If not for the fact that he knew that he couldn’t act carelessly, he would’ve used the Seventh Prince to cause more mayhem even with the return of the Emperor. But he didn’t want to let them know about his ability to control people as it would give away the benefit he already had. His short-term plan at the moment is very simple: gather as much Intel as possible. His long-term goal is to make the Seventh Prince the Emperor of the Gnome world. If that could be achieved, then he would be the one controlling the Gnome world behind the scenes.

Just thinking of the possibility that a top human powerhouse is under the control of a Gnome scared him. Even his father could be placed under control and no one would be aware of it. This is just how frightening that power is. Good thing he was the one who saw the person behind it. After learning it, he made sure to force the man into swearing an oath that he’ll never show anyone this ability, nor use it on anyone again.

Thinking about the man, he couldn’t help but think about those from the horned race he brought out of that secret realm. He unconsciously took them with him as servants all those years ago. It has been a few years since he saw them or even had any sort of encounter with them. After leaving the duo of the young girl and her Senior Brother in their care, he has basically disappeared.

’Looks like I’ll have to visit them after returning to the Dawson Manor.’

Grey came to a conclusion after some thought. Since his mind drifted to these people, then he didn’t mind going over to check on them once he was done with this task. Once his father gets here, he’ll be allowed to leave.

On this very day.

Grey accompanied Sir Astarot as usual, heading to one part of the Inner Court. Most of the places they’ve visited over the past few days were close to the Dragon’s territory, but this time, they traveled to a place almost an entire day away from the Dragon mountains. Sir Astarot and the old man from the Vaergahl Family were both top experts, so they were quite fast. Grey did his best to catch up with them during the journey, but he was left behind only after a few minutes. Sir Astarot decided to carry Grey throughout the journey to make sure he didn’t delay them. Yet with the speed of Sir Astarot and the old man, they still spent almost an entire day on the journey.

This journey made Grey realize that the Inner Court is far bigger than he thought. From his calculations, the Inner Court is around the same size as one part of the five Continents in the Aurora Continent and not the smaller ones. According to what Grey heard from Sir Astarot, the place they traveled to was close to the edge of the Inner Court. With Grey’s speed, he’ll take around close to a week to cover the distance Sir Astarot and the old man did in less than a day.

They appeared in front of a vast marsh. Looking at the area, Grey wondered which Magical Beasts thrive in such an area. He had a few ideas, but he didn’t know if his guess would be accurate.

Since arriving in the Inner Court, Void and the bunny leader have been practically nonexistent. Neither of them has stepped out to speak with or even tell Grey about sensing any treasure throughout their journeys.

’Are you two afraid?’

’Nonsense! I fear no one."

’Same here.’

’Then come out.’ Explore more at novelbuddy

’We’re both at critical junctions of our cultivation, recklessly moving around will affect our foundation.’

Hearing the excuse made by Void, Grey snickered. He didn’t need anyone to tell him why the duo hadn’t dared to show their faces since he entered this place. They were both clearly very afraid of Sir Astarot. Neither of them has shown any reactions since they started exploring the Inner Court, clearly, they were both afraid of something. This is the first time Void was behaving properly without Grey having to say a word of warning.

"Boy, don’t move away from me once they’ve appeared." Sir Astarot suddenly warned, bringing Grey back to his senses as he focused on the environment before him.
