Addiction to Temptation: His Mischievous Sweetheart Captivates Him-Chapter 302: Because You Like It
Zane Thorne doesn’t seem like a meticulous person, yet his drawings are exceptionally detailed.
Even for someone unfamiliar with racing, upon seeing his structural diagrams, they can’t help but scrutinize them closely.
Natalie Vaughn’s teacher was no different.
"Teacher, how’s it? Is innate talent powerful?"
"Why isn’t the teacher speaking? Is it too complex?"
"Teacher, quickly show us."
"..."
The teacher, who appeared extremely elegant, showed a hint of excitement in his eyes after seeing Zane Thorne’s drawings.
Natalie Vaughn watched his reaction keenly.
It seems that every man hides the most passionate youth deep within. Hardly any can resist the allure of racing.
Natalie Vaughn smiled warmly.
"Teacher, do you think my friend is right?"
The teacher reluctantly took his eyes off the drawings, handing them back to Zane Thorne somewhat unwillingly.
"Your friend....."
The teacher paused, seeing the rings on their fingers, corrected himself.
"Your husband is correct, innate talent is indeed strong, but I believe without hard work, we can’t utilize the power given by heavens. So, your spouse’s statement wasn’t complete."
Natalie Vaughn turned to look at Zane Thorne.
"Seems like you’ve been secretly practicing."
Zane Thorne: ...
Since no one believes, there’s no need to explain. He indeed hadn’t practiced, just that his drawings evolved from being intelligible only to himself to being understandable by others.
The rest of the class finally understood Zane Thorne’s identity due to the term "husband."
Unable to describe, they understood Natalie Vaughn indeed had substantial backing with Zane Thorne’s presence.
Some people project an aura making it clear they’re on a different level.
Yet, sitting opposite Zane Thorne, Natalie Vaughn didn’t seem at all overshadowed.
Afterwards, Zane Thorne earnestly continued drawing, while Natalie Vaughn focused on her class, until Bartery arrived and shook things up.
Seemingly dissatisfied with Zane Thorne, Bartery disrupted seating arrangements, imposed surprise quizzes, and even singled Zane Thorne out with tricky questions.
Natalie Vaughn didn’t understand why the elder suddenly acted out; many auditors often attended these classes without intervening.
She worried Zane Thorne might be upset.
Yet, she noticed he remained calm, sporting a slight grin, seemingly unfazed by the abrupt changes.
Sunlight streamed in through the window.
The breeze brought a faint floral scent.
Natalie Vaughn found Zane Thorne to be somewhat gentle at that moment.
Additionally, his response to Bartery’s questions was surprisingly adequate.
Not a perfect answer, but the question couldn’t be answered perfectly by anyone.
Even she found no exception.
Bartery’s eyes flashed with surprise and contemplative thoughts for a moment. After this, he no longer troubled Zane Thorne.
After class, Natalie Vaughn clung to Zane Thorne, probing.
"How come you know so much about fashion design?"
On the lawn before the building, Natalie Vaughn’s hair had grown slightly longer, ends curling, brushed against the man’s hand as she approached.
Stirring ripples in the heart.
Zane Thorne couldn’t resist, and not intending to, he kissed her as they sat on the grass.
The kiss didn’t last long, quite brief.
Zane Thorne playfully pinched Natalie Vaughn’s earlobe.
"I know very little compared to you."
Natalie Vaughn’s concern was elsewhere.
She was amazed at how Bartery’s questions were answered no less than those of professional students.
When did he gain such knowledge?
Natalie Vaughn gripped his wrist, tickling the back of her hand, feigning irritation for being kept in the dark.
"Hurry up, speak, or I’ll tickle you."
Zane Thorne: ...
She was clearly indulging in his hand, his ticklish spots weren’t there.
"I merely took a look at what you liked."
He used the word ’also.’
Natalie Vaughn blinked, understanding Zane Thorne’s implication.
Just like how she came to understand and love racing because of Zane Thorne, Zane Thorne learned about fashion design because she liked it.
Being spouses means moving towards each other.
Natalie Vaughn felt a warmth sweep through her heart.
Surely, while she liked racing partly due to Zane Thorne, she inherently loved speed, so liking racing wasn’t strange.
Moreover, she pursued her passions freely, without ever expecting Zane Thorne to do anything.
Yet receiving something similar from Zane Thorne brought comfort.
For someone who lived recklessly, only caring for himself, he changed significantly for her.
Natalie Vaughn unconsciously softened her voice.
"Don’t you find it tedious?"
Zane Thorne, besides racing, had few interests. Fashion especially didn’t pique his curiosity; imagining him understanding fashion seemed arduous.
Zane Thorne chuckled lightly, playing with Natalie Vaughn’s hair.
"Not entirely, I’m trying hard to find joy in what you do."
Fueled by such thoughts, during several late nights of disinterest, he persevered.
Now, while he couldn’t claim immense interest in the subject, he gained a general understanding and could appreciate Natalie Vaughn working on designs late at night.
Natalie Vaughn leaned in, giving him a quick peck on the lips.
Zane Thorne raised an eyebrow.
"What’s this for?"
Natalie Vaughn sat back slightly, grinning at him.
"A reward."
Zane Thorne’s eyes flickered, seeing his fiancée so charming, his throat tingled, drawing her closer.
Before kissing her again, Natalie Vaughn heard him say softly.
"This is how rewards should be given."
In the more understanding atmosphere abroad, being affectionate in campus settings didn’t attract undue attention or assumptions.
Onlookers might admire love’s beauty, feeling they’ve witnessed true love.
Though some envied such tenderness.
Bartery, having spoken with the dean, left his meeting to find the couple lost in their kiss on the lawn.
"..."
Were they mocking him for being old and alone?
"Cough cough—"
Natalie Vaughn heard the familiar sound, lifted her head, seeing the elder looking displeased.
The expression resembled a father losing his daughter.
Natalie Vaughn marveled at its novelty, having not seen such expressions from her own father but now noticing it in the elder.
Seated in the restaurant, Natalie Vaughn began accusing Bartery of his class conduct.
Bartery scoffed.
"You plan to return home because of this man?"
Natalie Vaughn: ...
Where did that come from?
Her return had nothing to do with Zane Thorne.
Even without Zane Thorne, she couldn’t stay abroad too long; she could achieve greatness back home, so why not return?
