Accidentally Yours, My Super Rich Second Husband-Chapter 96: Kissy Face
Delphinia stayed put on the bed, her cheeks still rosy from their chat. She didn’t know why Evander’s words always got to her, but his voice had a way of making her heart race and her skin tingle.
Sitting close to her, his tall frame outlined by the warm light of the lamp. He looked effortlessly handsome, but his eyes were fixed on her, soft and focused, as if she was the only thing in the world that mattered.
"You’re staring again."
"I thought we already established that I can’t help it."
She gave an exaggerated eye roll, but a small smile crept onto her face anyway. "You’re impossible."
"And you’re beautiful," he countered, his voice so gentle that it made her breath hitch.
For a moment, neither of them spoke. The silence lingered, but there was a strange comfort in it. His hand reached out, tucking a stray strand of her hair behind her ear. The light brush of his fingers against her skin sent a shiver down her spine.
"Delphinia," he called out, "can I kiss you?"
Her heart skipped a beat at the question, but she managed to reply, "Funny, you didn’t bother asking before."
"Because this kiss could turn into something more."
He leaned in slowly, giving her every chance to stop him. When his lips finally met hers, the kiss was soft at first—gentle, as if testing the waters. But then it deepened, the hesitance replaced by something more intense, more passionate.
Her hands found their way to his chest, fingers curling into the fabric of his shirt as she kissed him back. His hands rested lightly on her waist at first, but as the kiss grew more heated, they slid under her pajama top, his warm palms pressing against her skin.
She gasped at the unexpected sensation, and he pulled back slightly, his brows furrowing. "Did I hurt you?"
Delphinia shook her head quickly, her cheeks burning. "No, it’s... it’s just cold," she stammered.
His confusion deepened until she added, "The ice pack."
Realization dawned on his face, followed by something close to anger. He reached for the offending ice pack she had placed on her hip earlier and yanked it away. "This thing has some nerve being in my way," he muttered, annoyed.
Before she could react, he tossed it across the room, where it hit the wall with a dull thud.
"Evander!" she exclaimed, half-laughing, half-scolding. "That wasn’t necessary!"
"It was absolutely necessary," he shot back, clearly annoyed. "I’m not letting anything interrupt us—especially not some stupid ice pack."
She laughed harder, her shoulders shaking as she buried her face in his chest. "I’m serious," he said, though his lips twitched with amusement. He cupped her cheek, tilting her face up to meet his gaze. "Now, where were we?"
Her smile faltered when his thumb brushed her cheek with a touch so careful it made her pause. His eyes stayed on hers, their intensity making her heart skip and her breath hitch. "Evander..."
"Hmm?" His voice was low, almost a purr.
"You don’t have to—" she began, but he silenced her with another kiss.
This one wasn’t soft or hesitant. It felt overwhelming, like he was silently sharing every thought and feeling through that look. His hands returned to her waist, sliding under her pajama top again, but this time she didn’t flinch. Instead, she melted into him, her arms winding around his neck to pull him closer.
His fingers traced lazy circles on her skin, sending sparks of warmth coursing through her. The weight of his body pressed against hers as he guided her back onto the bed. The room seemed to shrink around them, the only sounds their mingled breaths and the faint rustle of fabric.
"Delphinia," he murmured against her lips, his voice rough with emotion.
She opened her eyes, meeting his gaze. The honesty in his face struck her, a raw emotion that made her chest feel heavy.
"What is it?" she asked softly.
"I just..." He trailed off, his brow furrowing slightly as if searching for the right words. "I can’t believe you’re here with me. That this is real."
Her heart ached at the vulnerability in his voice. She reached up, brushing her fingers against his cheek. "It’s real," she said firmly. "I’m here."
He closed his eyes for a moment, leaning into her touch. "You’re everything," he whispered.
Her breath hitched, and she felt a warmth spread through her chest that had nothing to do with his touch. "Evander..."
He opened his eyes, a small smile tugging at his lips. "I love the way you say my name."
She rolled her eyes dramatically, but a grin broke through. "You’re the worst."
"And you’re just perfect," he replied with a warm, tender smile. He leaned down, pressing a kiss to her forehead, then her nose, and finally her lips. Each touch was light, almost reverent, as if he was afraid she might disappear.
Her hands slid up his arms, feeling the strength beneath his skin. "Evander," she said again, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Hmm?"
"Don’t stop," she murmured, her cheeks flushing at her own boldness.
His eyes darkened, and his smile turned into something more mischievous. "As you wish."
He captured her lips again, and this time, there was no hesitation. Their movements became more synchronized, their touches more confident. His hands roamed over her skin, leaving trails of warmth in their wake, while her fingers tangled in his hair, pulling him closer.
The world outside faded away, leaving just the two of them wrapped in each other’s arms. The room felt heavy with emotions they didn’t say out loud, every kiss and touch deepening their connection.
When they finally broke apart, both of them were breathing heavily, their foreheads resting against each other.
"Was that okay?" he asked, his voice rough but gentle.
She nodded, her lips curving into a small smile. "More than okay," she replied.
"Glad to hear it," he said with a soft grin. "Because I’m not done with you yet."
Her laugh echoed softly through the room as she tugged him back for another kiss.
