A Hundred Times: Ascending With The Strongest System-Chapter 37 - 36: Before the Storm

Zoey was escorted to her new room by Sarina, the room was massive and held a ton of space with a ton of furniture. There was a bathroom, a kitchen, a bedroom, and a living room, it was like Zoey's old apartment, but only fancier and with so much room that she didn't even know what to with.

"I hope it's to your standards," Sarina said as she scanned the room a bit, "It's a bit empty, but you can make use of this space and turn it into your own small home."

"I understand, thank you." Zoey replied with a nod, stepping into the room.

"You deserve some rest, today's been a busy day, but tommorow will be far busy as I have a Task for you to do." Sarina said as she closed the door behind Zoey, leaving her alone to her thoughts.

'A Task?' Zoey thought, walking into the living room as she sat down on the couch, a sigh escaping her lips. 'No matter, It's about time I have to do stuff for the guild. I could refuse, but who knows, they might reward me handsomely.' Zoey grinned at the thought, before another yawn escaped her lips, her body starting to demand serious rest.

'She glanced at her window, noticing the sun starting to set as it casted a warm orange glow over the horizon. A fresh breeze infiltrated her room as the curtains fluttered, a sense of calm washing over her for a moment.

'Now then, let's start absorbing some Skill Books!' Zoey grinned excitedly, taking out her Skill Books as she placed them on her fresh wooden desk, watching them pulse and glow invitingly.

She immediately began absorbing as the pages fluttered and turned, a bright light radiating from the book almost blinding her as all the information on how to use the Skill entered her mind, her eyes closed in deep concentration.

After a few minutes, all the Skill Books had been absorbed, and a huge sense of power radiated off of Zoey's body as a dominating aura radiated off her body, an aura that even frightened herself as she didn't think she'd grow so powerful from C-Rank Skills.

'Let's see...' Zoey pondered as she opened her Status Window, glancing at her new set of Skills.

'Oooo~' Zoey breathed heavily as her breaths were hot and powerful, her body brimming with strength and wild power. She glanced at the [Earth Skin] Skill that was already starting to level up at a rapid rate, reaching level 2 immediately upon absorbing it. She felt her body toughen, harden, but not it wasn't uncomfortable, nor did it hinder her movements, all it did was increase her defenses to a heightened degree.

'I can't wait to test these out!' Zoey thought with an excited smile as she stood up from the couch, taking a deep breath to calm her nerves as she remember that she still had one more thing to check out.

'The B-Rank weapon....' Zoey thought to herself with a sense of trepidation, she knew Sarina had advised her not to touch the blade yet, not until she was atleast at the peak of C-Rank. She was close, very close to scraping C-Rank, that she could tell, but she also wanted to hold the sword, see it's properties, even if it's just for a second.

'Hopefully I don't regret this..' Zoey swallowed nervously as she opened her [Inventory], seeing the weapon that was sitting in one of her slots. Not even the casing could protect the true identity of the blade, and what she read shocked her to her core.

'!!!!' Zoey's eyes widened in shock immediately as she unconsciously took a step back, this weapon, it was terrifyingly powerful. The effects and the sheer power of the sword were nothing to laugh at, especially reading the description, she could see why many Hunters couldn't wield this weapon before, as it was too much to handle.

'Jeez, this is simply crazy!!' Zoey thought, closing her [Inventory], although she was extremely curious about trying to hold the sword, she didn't want to be knocked unconscious by it's overwhelming power, so she decided that she'll be patient and come back to this sword after she levels up.

'I had plans on cancelling my reservation on the [Knight's Oath] Sword before, but thankfully I didn't do that yet, as I want to use that sword in the mean time.' Zoey thought as she pulled out her phone and contacted the Hunter Association back at Zolorius, telling the owner of the blade to deliver it to the Raging Phoenix Guild.

After that she hung up the call, and sighed to herself as she moved towards her bedroom, deciding to rest for today, as today has been quite the eventful day. Zoey climbed into the covers as she started to fall asleep, as she needed all her energy for the Task Sarina was going to bestow to her tommorow.
