"We need to talk, ’’Ezekiel said, barging into Zaiden’s room that night after the discussion with the family.

He wanted to hear it,he wanted to be sure that it was Zaiden who was making this decision without feeling the need to do as his grandpa told him.

His family loves the girl,he knew that but he couldn’t seem to fade the thoughts away that Zaiden was making a mistake by setting down with the orphan.

He doesn’t actually see anything special about the girl that his family including his wife won’t stop disturbing his rest in the house if only her son got married to her.

For all,he cared,just as Sophia had insinuated at the dinner they had with her the first day she was here,that she was a gold digger.

He respected the fact that his grandpa was involved in this matter but he needed to know why Zaiden suddenly changed his mind about not getting married to her again.

"I want to sleep father,perhaps tomorrow"Zaiden pretended to be jaded, yawning for his father to see he wasn’t in the mood to talk right now.

But as usual, politeness was never in their blood because he went up to drag the duvet off him,seeing through his facade of being tired.

Why can’t they let him rest for once.

What does he want this time?

"Do you take me as a joke or what?what’s wrong with you giving the family constant trouble over this issue of you getting married?"Ezekiel demanded from him a really angry tone in which Zaiden noticed that he was not in a good mood,unlike his father to raise his voice at him.

The only one who wouldn’t hesitate to do that to him was his mother,she won’t relent in slapping hell out of him if he spoiled her plans again.

"If I can remember father,this issue had already been resolved earlier this evening"He paused and sat down facing his dad while refused to sit down "like I said,the marriage between Hazel and I won’t be cancelled"

"Why her?’’Ezekiel asked, pissed at his choice of a wife.

"What do you mean?"Zaiden asked, not exactly getting his father,what does he mean by that?

Wasn’t he also in the league of his mom and grandpa to get him married to their favourite girl,Hazel,so what does he mean by ’why her’?

He stared at his dad in utmost perplexity wondering if he ate something wrong that affected his brain to ask him that question.

"Let me get this Straight,I don’t like her,"He declared.

Zaiden scoffed in puzzlement,was his dad serious?

Like why does he not like her?

Zaiden was surprised to find himself asking this question when he’s supposed not to be siding with her since he claims he hates her.

Why does he feel bad that his father wasn’t consenting to their marriage?

Why does it affect him so much?

"If anything,I prefer the model. What does she have to offer if she gets married to you aside from being a liability and an extra mouth to feed? Besides,she doesn’t like genu....."

Ezekiel blurted out without noticing the change in Zaiden’s countenance over what he just said about Hazel.

"You wouldn’t be saying that if you got to know what happened between me and Anna?"

"What more could happen aside from constant arguments which would later end up forgiving each other,so.."

"I wasn’t planning on forgiving Anna"Zaiden corrected his dad,he might have heard wrong or tried to coerce him into giving her a second chance but that’s the problem here. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

Zaiden Knights don’t give second chances.

Besides,since encountering Hazel,his mind and heart had hardened towards other girls,No,he would feel hurt to see the lady cry despite his made up mind to torture her life and his promise to divorce her after a week.

But the question here was,does the promise still stand?

Can he be able to do that?

Can he withstand those grey bewitching eyes of hers that seem to look deep into his soul?

Can he endure that lovely scent that makes him feel something tug in his chest if she was present.

It was not all about making a promise,it was more about fulfilling the promise.

Although,he didn’t know what was her mission,what really was her gain in getting married to him,he’s still going to find out.

But he wasn’t going to let his guards down this time,this time he gets to be the bad guy to break their heart rather than being the one who was heartbroken.

His father doesn’t know anything,he doesn’t know what pain he went through the hands of Anna.

"Then Hazel,what are your plans on settling down with her,because you can deceive everyone but it’s clear to me that you don’t like that gold digger"

"Enough father"Zaiden intervened before he could leave more profanities against Hazel.

What does he have against Hazel?

Has she encountered him before to deserve all these cursings from him?

"I’m just trying to help you make the right decision son"Ezekiel sounded concerned,well yeah he appreciates his concern about it but that’s it.

He can’t force him to change his mind about that model.

For now,his only option is to get married to the one who he’s sure doesn’t give him the negative vibes.

If anything,he feels more like he was the one who was forcing himself on Anna,he was the one who was doing everything to make the relationship work between them and he has realized that,so,it was good of him to let him go before she gets to play him the second time.

"And I appreciate that dad,but my mind’s made up already,I’m not getting involved with her again,so the sooner you get to accept that the better"Zaiden finally said his mind,and looked up to see his father staring at him with wide eyes.

The man was stunned and short of words that he too was bewitched by that girl who had managed to wipe his family,firstly,his wife, Avery had an argument with him after trying to explain the need to make amends before it was too late.

But Avery didn’t take it lightly with him,rather,she ended up telling him to give her space for some days and up to till now,they weren’t on talking terms all because of Hazel.

"Fine, but I will be happy if you at least consider what I said by giving it a thought,it doesn’t have to be the model,it can be anyone else as long as it’s not..."

"What do you have against her?"Zaiden asked,it was now getting more serious than he had imagined.

His father was keen on getting him to make him break off the engagement with Hazel,but for what reason?

"I didn’t need one,I’m your father I know what’s best for you"

"You are sounding just like uncle Eli,sadly,I’m no longer a kid to be dictated about what to do or what not....."

Zaiden paused when he heard Sophia’s screaming voice,he looked at his father immediately who stared back at him.

"They are probably having an argument, it’s Nothing new"Ezekiel guessed but was not entirely sure it was what he was thinking, because this time her screams weren’t the normal tantrums she throws everyday before she sleeps.

"I think not,something is going on with her"Zaiden added,this wasn’t the first time they had experienced this,and this wasn’t the time of him assuming that something was wrong.

Because,they usually have an argument like everyday, in the end Sophia’s screams would resonate in the house before dying down.

He wasn’t that much in talking terms with Nathan again after he proved to be a twisted psycho who questions what he feels about Hazel.

"I will check it out,but think about what I said, goodnight"Ezekiel said leaving his room before Zaiden gave out a loud breath before slumping down on his bed.

Because he could remember she didn’t do anything to have his dad hating her,the only person he was sure she was on bad terms with was Sophia,who she challenged back then at the dinner.

He smiled reminiscing what happened that day,that was the very first time he was intrigued to know more about her.

He was interested since the very first day she surprised the whole family by reprimanding Sophia who called her a gold digger.

Why smiling Zaiden?

He questioned himself and went back to his normal composure,the cold freak he was,but he was still occupied with the thoughts of what she might be doing now.

He was concerned about what she was going to say about his actions earlier today.
