365 Days To Love-Chapter 48 - FOURTY-EIGHT:The Engagement Party.

The live music started playing to lighten up the mood of the people in the hall room,the room was already filled up with elites and socialites,not excluding grandpa’s friends.

The guards were stationed on every corner of the hall to ensure the safety of the people, they all wore black suits with wired comms on their ear to converse with each other, if you were not given an invitation card you wouldn’t be allowed inside.

The press were almost half of the people who were in the hall,a few of them were already giving the live news about what was going to happen today.

Grandpa was having an interview with one of the journalist who asked him a lot of questions concerning today’s ceremony. It took a while for the interview to end as the lady still bothered the old man to reveal the identity of his daughter in-law.

He left with the chief of staff at his back who whispered something to the old man before ushering him to where he sat down.

The shareholders were next to arrive as the chief of staff ushered them into the table which was prepared for them.

Leonard went to find Ezekiel to congratulate him on his son’s engagement while Elijah’s minions were scanning their eyes everywhere trying to find fault in what they were doing.

The spokesperson went up to the microphone to get the attention of the people,he went on to say a few things before he welcomed Grampa on the stage.

The claps and cheering were for the old man whose face was full of smiles as he mounted up the stage taking the mic from the man.

Grandpa gave a speech of appreciation to the people seated waiting for his daughter-in-law,with the way the journalist was too eager to know her identity it was soon forgotten that it was also Nathan’s party.

The door opened as his second grandson appeared in the hall with the bodyguards at his back,Nathan was dressed up in a two button breasted suit with brown brogues,with his hair in a quiff,he looked like a model.

The flashes from the paparazzi were eyeblinding as he took out his black shades to cover his eyes away from the light,he went up to sit beside his father and mother.

Sophia was all smiles ,she hated the fact that soon his brother and that wench,why was her name again?

She really hated the step that girl took,she hated that the girl was going to be staying under the same roof with her,No one had ever challenged her other than Avery.

But after encountering Hazel that has changed,the girl had too much fore in her but she is going to quench it soon.

She smiled at her son when he sat down beside her,she touched his cheeks before turning her attention to what the old man had to say.

She heard Avery saying something to one of the maids,her sister in-law wore a mermaid tail gown with swarovski earrings,she was surprised when she didn’t find the bracelet on her wrist because she always wears it.

Why didn’t she wear it today?

Then it occurred to her that she had handed it over to that brat,Avery turned to lock eyes with her but she rolled hers at the lady,really annoyed.

Her thoughts were cut short when she heard Grandpa call Nathan’s name,he was welcome and he stood up,walking confidently with a small grin on his face.

He found his father and his minions clapping with a proud smile on his face when he went up to greet the audience who welcomed him warmly with a round of applause and cheers.

"Wow,he’s so handsome"

"Isn’t he a model,take a look at those lips,I will die to get a taste of that"

Nathan could hear the gossip coming from the females who he figured out to be the workers from the company,because he recognised the female that nearly fainted when he winked at her on his first visit at the company.

His facial expression changed when he heard them comparing him with Zaiden,saying that Zaiden was much more handsome and more responsible than him.

He nearly flared up at the females but his father called him, and his attention went to his father who was approaching him with a man.

"Say hello,he’s a good friend,"Elijah told him with beaming smiles.

Nathan bowed showing his respect to the man while he patted his back then turned to Elijah"He would make a fine match with Jessica,I’m sure of it"

Nathan’s ears cringed when he heard the man’s statement,his father was not trying to set him up in an arranged marriage like that of his brother right?

He sent a swift look at his father who grinned at the man’s statement before returning his gaze towards his son who was looking at him keenly.

Elijah noticed the look Nathan was sending his way but he simply ignored him,laughing at the man’s statement, their conversation was cut off by the spokesman announcing that it was time for the engaged couple to be out.

Hazel could hear her heart beating loudly as she fisted her hand together,she had this habit of biting her fingers and blinking her eyes fastly when she was nervous.

Her companion by her side didn’t help the matter at all,he was busy checking himself out in the mirror, oblivious to the girl’s nervousness.

Hazel could feel her breathing getting worse,she felt suffocated staying inside this room with Zaiden who didn’t talk to her at all.

He wore a monochrome tuxedo with Micheal kors classic watch hanging expensively on his wrist,then the black brogues on his legs with his quiffed hair was the finishing touch.

He looked ravishing in this outfit Hazel couldn’t deny,he was a freaking handsome adonis but so sad that he didn’t notice the way she was studying him.

Not that she wanted him to,he would react back in a manner she wouldn’t like.

She frozed a bit when she noticed he took her hand in his,chulking at her tensed up state.

Stop it Hazel,what’s wrong with you?

"Easy beautiful,I’m here"Zaiden purred in her ear, racing heart started to calm her down and surprisingly his words seemed to do the magic because she finally relaxed.

Beautiful?

But wait a minute,why was he talking to her informally.

Why was he treating her nicely all of a sudden,yesterday night,he talked to her as if they were good before disappearing on her in the dark and today he has been so nice.

Was it because of their engagement?

She noticed the reason why he was holding her hands, she suddenly felt coldness on her finger and when she looked at her finger,she felt time stopped for a bit.

He gave her a real diamond ring.

He wasn’t after trying to calm her racing heart,rather he used the chance to slide the ring down her finger without proposing to her the proper way.

He left her before she could say anything to him,her eyes getting wet at his cold actions but she was caught off guard when she heard the spokesperson calling the two of them out.

It was all an act.

He was doing this because of his reputation,why are you taking things the wrong way Hazel?

The front door was opened for them by two guards,Zaiden was already by her side looking and smiling at her that she wished to slap the pretentious act off him,but she kept her calm.

It was her day,she can’t ruin it because of her stupid Fiance.
