Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride
Chapter 1171 - 1166: Xiaoru Is Staying Over Tonight
Sophia Hamilton had originally planned to go home, but after that wild storm she had no strength left at all. Evander Lancaster was holding her in the bathtub, her arms and legs completely limp.
Half-dazed, she leaned against Evander’s shoulder, secretly annoyed in her heart. She clearly hadn’t wanted it, and yet once again... she’d been seduced and screwed by him.
Some things just can’t be explained with normal logic. Obviously he was the one doing all the work, pounding away for over an hour, but after all that effort, not only did he show no sign of fatigue, he even looked more energized than before.
One arm wrapped loosely around Sophia’s lower belly, the other absentmindedly helping her wash up. His warm lips would now and then fall by her ear for a light kiss, and in a soft voice he asked, "Tired?"
"You’re so bad," the utterly exhausted woman couldn’t even be bothered to lift her eyelids. She leaned on Evander’s shoulder, eyes closed, and grumbled.
"How am I bad?" Evander was amused by the aggrieved expression of the little thing in his arms. His lowered gaze was full of tenderness. "Weren’t you enjoying it just now too?" The way she’d clearly wanted to moan but didn’t dare be loud, biting her lower lip, eyes hazy... just thinking about it now made his heart race.
"I so was not. You’re the one who just wouldn’t stop!"
"Silly girl, do you know how many women complain their man doesn’t last long enough?" Evander lifted his fingers to pinch Sophia Hamilton’s chin, gently rubbing it, his lowered gaze filled with a smile. "Running into a man as lasting as me means you’ve struck gold, you know that?"
"As if I care."
Sophia said it with disdain, but her slightly pouting lips curled up without her noticing.
"Mouth says no, heart says yes!" Evander said with a laugh, then wrapped his arms around her and stepped out of the tub, conveniently grabbing a bath towel to wrap her in. "It’s late. Sleep."
When Evander carried her back to the bedroom, Sophia was still putting up a front. "I have to go home, otherwise my mom will worry."
"Be good, you’re not going anywhere. It’s too late. I’ll call our mom in a bit." Evander set Sophia down on the bed, tugged the quilt over her, then turned and headed toward the living room.
"But I—" Sophia called after his back, but after that one word she bit her lip.
They had just taken a shower. The man in her line of sight looked like Adam from some myth, tall and straight, broad shoulders, a powerful waist and narrow hips. His skin was fairer than most men’s, but it didn’t look feminine at all—if anything, his whole body seemed to radiate raw, primal strength.
"Go to sleep, don’t worry. Our mom will understand." Evander glanced back at her once, then walked out of the bedroom.
Sophia lay on the bed. She was clearly exhausted, yet her eyes were wide open, staring at the ceiling. Before, whenever she heard him say "our mom," she’d felt genuine disgust deep down. Now, she actually thought it sounded nice. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
Just like that, she’d muddleheadedly fallen into a relationship. For the first time. Back in college she’d been envious of all those campus couples around her, but Cupid had never once aimed an arrow her way. Plenty of guys had pursued her, but not one had made her heart skip a beat.
Clutching the corner of the quilt, she listened to the man in the living room say, "...Auntie, Sophia’s staying at my place tonight. I’ll drive her to the office tomorrow..." Sophia yanked the quilt up over her face.
The next day, when Evander drove her to work, that was when Sophia truly felt she was in a real relationship. Especially when he deliberately got out of the driver’s seat to open the passenger door for her, steadying her with a hand as she got out, then, under the gaze of her colleagues, helped straighten her scarf, rubbed the top of her head, and told her he’d pick her up after work...
Sophia ducked her head in embarrassment and jogged into the company’s front entrance.
