Chapter 251: Hopes

Terry’s chubby little body swayed happily from side to side.

"I don’t feel uncomfortable at all... I actually feel really, really good. Just... a little sleepy."

His voice was thick with drowsiness, soft and heavy, as if sleep were already pulling him under.

Hearing that, Rory instinctively looked toward Yuel.

"Yuel... are you sure Terry’s really okay? Why is he suddenly so sleepy?"

Yuel’s voice was gentle as he explained, reaching over to lift Terry from Rory’s shoulder and place him onto his own.

"Don’t worry, Rory. After eating the Ebony Divine Fruit, he needs to sleep in order to digest its energy and channel it into the right places."

"Awwoo..."

Terry was already too sleepy to stay awake. As he listened to his father’s voice, his consciousness quickly faded.

Rory watched as his small, round body tipped sideways on Yuel’s shoulder, about to fall, but before he could, slender deep-blue vines curled around him.

In moments, the vines wove themselves into a delicate little cradle, gently laying Terry inside.

"How long will he sleep?" Rory asked, her brows knitting with concern.

Yuel glanced at the now-sleeping child on his shoulder and shook his head slightly.

"I’m not sure yet. But don’t worry—he’ll be fine. I’ll take care of him. The moment he wakes up, I’ll let you know."

There was a trace of helplessness in his tone.

Their child’s talent was simply too extraordinary. Sometimes, the situations it brought about left even him at a loss.

Rory’s gaze lingered on the tiny figure resting in the woven cradle.

"Yuel... when Terry wakes up, you have to tell me immediately."

Yuel nodded. "I promise."

Rory glanced at the now-empty box on the table and let out a soft sigh.

"Now that Terry has eaten the Ebony Divine Fruit... what about your advancement?"

She truly wanted to help him break through.

But she already knew—he would never agree to the method she had in mind.

Yuel smiled, gently taking her hand. "Don’t worry. I’ll think of another way."

After all, he had been stuck at Rank ten for so many years.

Waiting longer wouldn’t change much.

As long as Terry was safe, that was enough.

In truth, Yuel had once searched for the Ebony Divine Fruit himself—but perhaps luck had not been on his side. He never found one.

Over the years, he had also posted requests on the star network, seeking anything that could help plant-type beastfolk advance.

Many had accepted the task.

None had succeeded.

Vincent stepped forward, reaching out to lightly touch the sleeping Terry, his tone thoughtful.

"Yuel’s advancement can’t be rushed. We’ll find another Ebony Divine Fruit."

Then his gaze shifted to the child resting in the cradle.

"Terry was unbelievably fast just now. Even Xarion and I couldn’t react in time to stop him."

A faint pause.

"And he hasn’t even awakened his abilities yet... and already he moves like that."

"...Once he awakens his abilities, his talent will be terrifying."

As he said this, Vincent turned to Yuel, his expression turning serious.

"Yuel, I have a suggestion. When Terry awakens his abilities, let the men of the household take turns training him."

Abilities themselves couldn’t be taught.

But everything else they knew—their skills, their experience—that could all be passed on.

Nix immediately lit up at the idea.

"I’ll teach Terry how to build mechas, starships—everything I know!"

He sounded almost eager, already imagining it.

Xarion added calmly, "I can teach him how to hunt."

Jasper spoke more quietly, "I don’t have much to teach... but one day, I can pass the Hunter Alliance on to him."

Jasper had never intended to have children of his own.

Rory’s child was his child.

Entrusting the Hunter Alliance to Terry in the future... didn’t sound bad at all.

Paros said, "I can make him the next ruler of the Three Domains."

Vincent followed, "I’ll teach him warfare."

Yuel knew they meant well.

But the moment he imagined his child having to learn all of this...

Terry hadn’t even started worrying yet, and Yuel already felt a headache coming on his behalf.

After a moment’s thought, Yuel said, "Let’s wait until Terry grows up and let him choose for himself."

He didn’t want to interfere too much in his child’s path.

Rory nodded in agreement.

"I understand Vincent’s hopes—that Terry will become strong. There’s nothing wrong with that. But Yuel is right too. He’s still so young. Let’s set this aside for now and let him decide when he’s older."

What if Terry didn’t want any of it? They should respect his choice.

The sound of rain suddenly began to fall outside.

Rory absentmindedly touched her stomach, then said, "I’m hungry. Let’s have something hot tonight. Like dumpling soup."

"Dumpling soup?"

The others looked at her, puzzled.

Nix frowned slightly. "Rory, what’s a dumpling soup? You’ve never taught us that before."

Rory smiled and grabbed his hand, pulling him toward the kitchen.

"I’ll show you how to make it."

The group followed her toward the kitchen.

But just as Vincent reached the doorway, his communicator lit up with a message from the estate’s head guard.

Head Guard: [Your Highness, Lady Lola has arrived—and she’s brought the Firebird Clan’s best physician with her.]

"Why did she bring a doctor?" Vincent asked, his gaze settling on the head guard.

The guard shook his head. "Lady Lola didn’t say. She only asked that you meet her alone."

A slight frown formed between Vincent’s brows.

What was that girl up to now?

After a brief pause, he said, "Understood."

As he spoke, his eyes flicked toward the kitchen, where Rory was busy guiding Yuel through the steps of making hot pot. Then he turned and left the living room.

Outside, the rain fell in a steady curtain.

The moment Lola saw him, she hurried forward, dragging the doctor along with her.

Before speaking, she quickly peeked behind him, confirming he had come alone. Then she urged the doctor beside her in a rush,

"Doctor, hurry—check my brother!"
