I am the Clone of a Death Row Inmate
Chapter 333 - 275: Parasitic Soul Egg (Part 2)
The Lin Family had always shown Su Ze goodwill, making them an excellent choice.
The next day, Su Ze contacted Chen Suifeng and Lin Luo of the Lin Family, informing them that he would be paying them a visit soon.
Afterward, he discussed the matter with Mr. Ya, and they decided to postpone their trip to Luofan.
As soon as Mr. Ya broke through to the Saint-rank, he was eager to return to Luofan for revenge.
With his current strength, killing the siblings Mosang and Moni would be effortless, and the other Dominators in Luofan Country wouldn’t be able to stop him.
However, they had to consider that Luofan Country had a Saint Emissary.
It would be no easy feat to deceive the Saint Emissary, who was a Saint-rank Supreme.
That was why Mr. Ya had been trying to come up with a plan recently, so he had no objections to postponing the trip.
"After I get back from Lin Hua Country, we’ll head to Luofan," Su Ze said. "If you still haven’t figured out a way to avoid the Saint Emissary by then, I’ll stir up some trouble at the border to draw him out. A classic case of luring the tiger from its mountain."
It was a surefire method, but a troublesome one. Only a conflict between Saint-rank Dominators from two different countries could possibly draw out the Saint Emissary, and that might trigger another Battle of Adjudication.
Mr. Ya hesitated. "Actually, Luofan has contacted me several times these past two days. They want me to return and serve as their Guardian God. I could perhaps use the excuse of visiting family... but I’m worried about what Mr. Gu and the others might think."
Having just lost two Dominators, Luofan Country was naturally desperate to recruit Mr. Ya, a Dominator who hailed from their nation.
Moreover, there was a loud public outcry online in Luofan Country for Mr. Ya to return and become the Luofan Guardian God. Mr. Ya was concerned that if he went back now under the pretext of visiting family, the other Guardian Gods in Dongli would grow suspicious.
"Let’s just wait until I get back," Su Ze said, feeling that Mr. Ya’s idea wasn’t safe either.
...
Su Ze submitted his application to travel to Lin Hua Country. It was approved a day later, and he departed on a private jet.
Having access to a private jet was one of the perks of being a Guardian God of Dongli.
He did not take Mr. Ya with him on this trip to Lin Hua, choosing to go alone.
Before becoming a Saint-rank, he had been cautious every time he left home, wishing he could just stuff Mr. Ya in his pocket and carry him around. But now that he was a Saint-rank Dominator, there were few people left who could threaten him.
No one among the Saint-rank Dominators could kill him, unless a Supreme or even a Legend-rank expert shamelessly decided to make a move on him.
Besides, once he arrived in Lin Hua Country, he would have Chen Suifeng, a Supreme, as a bodyguard.
The plane landed in Baihua City, the capital of Lin Hua Country. As soon as Su Ze disembarked, he saw Chen Xuejiao, dressed in professional attire, waiting to pick him up.
Once they were in the car, Chen Xuejiao remarked with a sigh, "It hasn’t been that long, and you’re already a Dominator."
Su Ze could clearly sense that Chen Xuejiao was more reserved around him now, not as natural as before. It was a change brought about by his new status and strength.
Su Ze smiled and complimented Chen Xuejiao on her outfit, praising her for looking both beautiful and elegant. After just a few sentences, she began to relax.
Soon, the car pulled up to the Ministry of Education of Lin Hua Country.
Su Ze navigated his way to Chen Suifeng’s seventh-floor office with practiced ease.
The handsome Chen Suifeng was brewing coffee with a coffee machine. He glanced at Su Ze and nodded in approval. "Not bad. You became a Dominator this quickly."
"Thanks to you," Su Ze said with a smile. Without the extract from the Fifth-rank River Dolphin Beast that Chen Suifeng had provided, he would never have completed his fourth evolution so quickly.
"Try this." Chen Suifeng poured Su Ze a cup of rich, black coffee and set it in front of him. "It’s made from fourth-rank coffee beans. Good for waking you up."
’Why do you have so much of this stuff... Last time it was fourth-rank cigarettes, this time it’s fourth-rank coffee beans. What’s next? Fourth-rank betel nuts? Fourth-rank opium?’
Su Ze took a sip and felt a jolt run through his body. He was suddenly wide awake and buzzing with energy... ’It really does wake you up. My energy feels like it’s about to burst through the top of my skull.’
"So, what brings you here this time?" Chen Suifeng asked directly.
He knew Su Ze wouldn’t have made a special trip to see him if it wasn’t for something important.
Su Ze then relayed all the information he had learned from the mother tree.
After listening, Chen Suifeng nodded slightly, chugged a large mouthful of coffee, and fell silent for a moment before saying, "That’s more or less what I suspected."
He leaned back on the sofa and stared at the ceiling, his eyes vacant and his voice distant. It was unclear if he was talking to himself or Su Ze. "These past few days, I’ve been thinking... I have to do something. I can’t just do nothing. But then there’s this voice in my head telling me, what if we’re just overthinking this? What if we’re wrong?
"But in reality, I was just indulging in wishful thinking. I was scared, because I know the road ahead is difficult.
"The news you’ve brought has shattered my last illusions. I have no more excuses. I must do something."
"What do you have in mind?" Su Ze asked.
Chen Suifeng sighed. "According to what you’ve said, the current Ruler, Jiang Pingle, is definitely a problem. Since there are no God-rank experts on Blue Star right now, only a Legend can deal with a Legend. My only option is to seek help from other Legends."
"How many Legend-rank experts does Lin Hua Country have?" Su Ze asked curiously.
He knew Lin Hua Country had more than one Legend, but besides the Ruler, Jiang Pingle, he had never heard of any others.
"There are three," Chen Suifeng said. "The three of them happen to represent three different eras. One is the former Ruler, one is the future Ruler, and Jiang Pingle is the one who serves as the bridge between them."
"The former Ruler is still alive?" Su Ze asked, surprised.
Chen Suifeng nodded. "The previous Ruler, the very one who took power from Lin Hua’s Legend, is named Ke Xiuyuan. He campaigned far and wide with Lin Hua’s Legend and was one of the first generals of the Lin Hua Army. He’s still alive, but he’s grown very old and doesn’t have much time left.
"As for the next Ruler, his name is Deng Sui. He only completed his sixth evolution a few years ago and is tacitly acknowledged by the higher-ups in Lin Hua Country as Jiang Pingle’s successor.
"Deng Sui also entered the Divine Dice in his early years and even took first place, but he never admitted to receiving the Bloodline Crystal."
Not admitting it didn’t mean he didn’t get it. Su Ze now understood who Chen Suifeng planned to ask for help.
Of the three Legend-rank experts, the only one who could be trusted was the former Ruler, Ke Xiuyuan. He was the old veteran who had fought alongside Lin Hua’s Legend and had been the second Ruler of Lin Hua Continent.
"I plan to find a chance to visit him. If you’re free then, you should come with me," Chen Suifeng said.
"Okay." Su Ze nodded in agreement, then moved on to the second reason for his visit: the foreign object in his soul.
Chen Suifeng’s expression grew solemn as he listened. He shook his head. "I’ve never heard of such a thing. Don’t be in a rush to leave. Stay in Baihua City for a couple more days. When I go visit Mr. Ke, I’ll take you with me to see if he can help. He might know a way."
A flicker of hope ignited in Su Ze’s heart. Ke Xiuyuan was a Legend-rank expert; perhaps he really did have a way to remove the foreign object from his soul.
"Alright. I was planning to visit the Lin Family on this trip anyway, so I’m not in a hurry to leave," Su Ze said.
"The Lin Family?" Chen Suifeng was taken aback. "Mr. Ke never had any children, so he always looked out for the descendants of Lin Hua’s Legend. After stepping down as Ruler, he’s been living out his retirement with the Lin Family. If you’re going to the Lin Family..."
Su Ze was also stunned. "What a coincidence."
"How about this," Chen Suifeng said. "Tell me what day you plan to go to the Lin Family, and we’ll go together."
And so, Su Ze and Chen Suifeng agreed to visit the Lin Family together the day after tomorrow.
"Mr. Fen, does your Ministry of Education have its own private stash?" Su Ze asked with a grin.
Chen Suifeng shot him a sideways glance. "The Ministry of Education doesn’t have a private stash, but I do. What do you want?"
"Well, I’ve been busy upgrading my skills lately. Could you take a look and see if you have any of these items in your collection?" Su Ze said, taking out the list Liou Wenxin had made for him.
It was a list of various extracts and evolution materials that might be suitable for him.
Chen Suifeng took the list and glanced at it. "I don’t have these in my personal collection, but I should be able to help you gather a few of them. Go on back and wait for my news."
"Thanks, Mr. Fen!"

PS: The writer’s block was brutal today. I sat in front of the computer for seven hours and only managed to squeeze out these 4,000 words. I still owe 2,000, which I’ll make up for tomorrow.
