Chapter 334: Chapter 276: The Relics of Lin Hua’s Legend

On the day he was scheduled to meet Chen Suifeng, Su Ze arrived early at Chen Suifeng’s office to wait.

"Here, for you." Chen Suifeng placed a disposable paper food container in Su Ze’s hands. Even through the plastic bag, Su Ze could feel the food’s searing heat and smell its aroma.

"What’s this?" Su Ze asked as he opened the bag.

"Breakfast. Sticky rice," Chen Suifeng said as he sat down. He opened his own portion, poured scalding meat broth over it, and began to stir. "Even Saint-level powerhouses like us have to remember to eat breakfast."

Su Ze followed Chen Suifeng’s lead, pouring the broth over his sticky rice and giving it a stir with his spoon. He took a bite. The flavor was savory and delicious; it was excellent.

Saint-level powerhouses could already survive without eating or drinking, and it wouldn’t negatively affect their bodies in any way. However, the deliciousness of food still brought Su Ze a sense of satisfaction.

"What time is our meeting with the Lin Family?" Su Ze asked.

"No rush. We’ll talk after breakfast," Chen Suifeng said nonchalantly.

Su Ze didn’t press the issue and peacefully enjoyed his breakfast. After all, he had only told Lin Luo he would be coming over today, without specifying an exact time.

After scooping the last grain of rice from his paper bowl into his mouth along with the broth, Chen Suifeng stretched contentedly. Seemingly remembering something, he gave a light wave of his hand, sweeping his palm over the table.

The next instant, a CLATTER of miscellaneous items tumbled out of his Storage Ring.

"Time was limited, so this is all I could gather. If you need more, I should be able to collect them with a bit more time," Chen Suifeng said.

Su Ze was stunned for a moment. Seeing the vial of Tier 4 extract and four different evolution materials on the table and feeling their pull on him, he finally realized: these were the upgrade materials he had entrusted Chen Suifeng to find for him!

’A Venerable Powerhouse, indeed,’ Su Ze thought. ’His connections and resources are on a completely different level than mine to have gathered all this in just one day.’

However, based on the pull they exerted on him, he judged they were probably just enhancement materials, not upgrade materials.

’The exception might be that vial of extract. If it also contains a superior skill, absorbing it could directly overwrite and upgrade one of my existing skills.’

Su Ze immediately showered Mr. Fen with praise. With a wave of his hand, he swept everything on the table into his own storage item before asking, "Mr. Fen, how much for all this?"

He had expected Chen Suifeng to make a grand gesture, flash a charming and handsome smile, and say, "These little things? They’re worth nothing. They’re yours!"

But who would have thought Chen Suifeng would actually pick up a calculator and start tallying up the bill, item by item? Finally, with a loathsome expression, he announced, "The total comes to thirteen million points. You can pay with items of equivalent value, too."

’Is this the same Mr. Fen who generously gave me a Tier 5 extract back then?’

’Men are so fickle...’ Su Ze reluctantly transferred thirteen million points to Chen Suifeng.

"What’s with the long face, kid? I didn’t even charge you for the sticky rice," Chen Suifeng said, exasperated. "Let’s go. Time to head to the Lin Family."

Of course, Su Ze wasn’t actually ungrateful. For Chen Suifeng to have gathered these materials in a single day, he must have leveraged his personal network. All Su Ze had to do was pay for them without lifting a finger—it was an absolute steal.

Chen Suifeng didn’t drive. He simply grabbed Su Ze, and in the blink of an eye, they had flown to the Lin Family’s estate.

The Lin Family’s main gate wasn’t particularly imposing. It was an old-fashioned, wrought-iron gate, with no security guards in black suits in sight. They weren’t needed.

Who could possibly cause trouble at an estate where Venerable and Legendary powerhouses resided?

In the guardhouse next to the gate sat a single old man with a full head of white hair and half his teeth missing. He came up to ask their identities.

After Chen Suifeng announced who he was, it took less than two minutes for three people to walk toward them.

The man walking in front was hale and hearty. Su Ze recognized the two people following him: the young man on the left was Lin Luo, and on the right was his aunt, Lin Yutong, whom Su Ze had met once before.

"That’s the current head of the Lin Family, Lin Nantian," Chen Suifeng informed Su Ze via Spiritual Transmission.

The gate opened. Chen Suifeng walked up with a broad smile and gave Lin Nantian a hug. "Mr. Lin, it’s been a while! I trust you’ve been well."

After the two exchanged a few pleasantries, Lin Nantian finally turned his gaze to Su Ze and smiled. "You must be Su Ze. I often hear Lin Luo speak of you. You’re every bit the young hero he described!"

"You flatter me, Mr. Lin," Su Ze said humbly.

He and Lin Luo were considered peers. Since Lin Nantian was Lin Luo’s grandfather, this form of address showed the proper respect due to an elder.

Of course, if he too were a Venerable Powerhouse, he could have addressed him as an equal, using the same familiar "Mr. Lin" that Chen Suifeng had.

"Come, come, let’s go inside and sit," Lin Yutong said, ushering them in. The group walked together toward the interior of the Lin Family estate.

Lin Nantian and Chen Suifeng walked ahead, while Su Ze, Lin Luo, and Lin Yutong followed behind. The two groups gradually drew further apart, and when Su Ze looked up again, he realized Chen Suifeng and Lin Nantian were nowhere to be seen.

"Grandfather and Mr. Chen haven’t seen each other in a long time and have a lot to talk about. Don’t worry about them," Lin Luo said with a warm smile. "Mr. Su, it’s only been a little over four months since we last parted, but to think you’ve already reached the Saint level... I, on the other hand, am still stuck in the same place. It’s quite embarrassing." 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

"You’re being too humble," Su Ze said, a hint of envy in his voice. "Your talent is in no way inferior to mine; it might even be greater. We’re just in different positions and have made different choices. If I had the option, I would have wanted to take your path. It’s much more stable."

He wasn’t entirely bluffing.

Back in the Divine Dice, Lin Luo’s wise retreat had left a deep impression on Su Ze. He clearly could have pushed himself to go further in the trial, but he had been unwilling to take the risk and withdrew early.
