Zombie Bodyguard
Chapter 1816 - 1813: Quarantine
Xu Feibai’s eyesight is no worse than Lin Tian’s; he saw the small bugs that others didn’t notice.
"Ignorance is bliss!" Xu Feibai lowered his voice with a cold expression. Lin Tian was not surprised by this reaction; to a zombie that’s lived for hundreds of years, human life might seem no more significant than ants.
However, he still turned around and said to the surrounding students, "I am the teacher. Now, everyone, step back!"
The students assumed the two were suffering from heatstroke, so they were familiar with the basics of heatstroke. At Xu Feibai’s request, they continued to step back. But what they didn’t realize was that Xu Feibai was actually saving them.
After the students backed away, Xu Feibai spoke to Teacher Yan, "Teacher Yan, please go to the entrance and check if the ambulance has arrived. They might not know the way; leave this to me."
This was also to prevent Teacher Yan from coming into contact with Zhao Weitao and Xiao Zhao. Teacher Yan suspected nothing else and agreed, "I’ll leave it to you then."
After Teacher Yan left, Lin Tian turned his head and glanced at Xu Feibai, "You seem cold, yet not so cruel after all."
"I only care about whether it affects my business," Xu Feibai said indifferently.
Lin Tian shook his head speechlessly and continued to inspect Zhao Weitao and Xiao Zhao. Under super vision, those tiny bugs were visible in every detail. Yet, he wished he hadn’t seen them, as it was too disgusting.
In their hair, and even under their scalp, were numerous tiny bugs, slowly writhing, causing a tingling sensation.
"Lin Tian, how is it?" Xiao Manxuan leaned over and asked with a frown.
Lin Tian hurriedly pulled her aside, not because he was afraid of her getting infected; she harbored alien energy, so these tiny bugs dared not infest her. Otherwise, Lin Tian wouldn’t have let her enter the basement.
Back when entering the basement, Wu Xiuluo had bestowed protective golden light on Ning Wenbin but not on Xiao Manxuan, knowing that with her alien energy, these bugs couldn’t do anything to Xiao Manxuan.
"Don’t look; you’ll have nightmares tonight." Lin Tian stopped her from looking.
Actually, Lin Tian didn’t have any treatment methods now. This wasn’t a simple illness but a parasitic infestation, not by ordinary bugs. When Mr. Qi was under Gu, it was thanks to Li Qingyun and Li Yue that he was cured after much trouble.
"Woowoo..." The ambulance siren sounded, the vehicle drove directly onto the playground. Since Jinghua University’s medical department had its affiliated hospital nearby, the ambulance arrived quickly.
As soon as the ambulance stopped, several doctors came out in succession, carrying stretchers, running and shouting, "Excuse us, please make way..."
The onlookers immediately parted, creating a large space, as doctors and nurses rushed in.
Leading the group was a middle-aged female doctor. Upon arrival, she noticed Xiao Manxuan and paused, and Xiao Manxuan was surprised to see the female doctor: "Dr. Sun..."
"Mr. Xiao, is it your classmates? What’s the situation?" Dr. Sun didn’t have time for small talk and directly asked about the situation.
Xiao Manxuan lowered her voice to Lin Tian, "She is an emergency doctor at the affiliated hospital and has taught me practical classes."
Then she spoke to Dr. Sun, "Dr. Sun, Lin Tian just examined them; he knows the situation better." The little girl pointed towards Lin Tian.
Dr. Sun looked at Lin Tian, frowning slightly. Lin Tian did not respond to her but turned around and grabbed a young nurse’s hand.
"What... are you doing?" The young nurse was initially annoyed about being interrupted from examining the patients, but upon looking up at Lin Tian’s handsome face and deep eyes, her voice naturally softened.
Lin Tian looked serious and whispered, "Don’t touch his hat; there are parasites on his head, highly contagious!"
The young nurse looked inexperienced, seemingly a recent graduate. Upon hearing about parasites, she quickly withdrew her other hand in fright.
Ning Wenbin happened to come over, saw Lin Tian holding the young nurse’s hand, and couldn’t help but exclaim, "Wow, Brother Lin Tian is so bold to flirt with the pretty nurse."
However, Dr. Sun did not view it this way. She stepped forward, eyeing Lin Tian with bad intentions, "What did you just say?" It seemed that if Lin Tian didn’t explain, she would explode.
Lin Tian released the young nurse’s hand, turned around calmly, and said, "They fainted not from heatstroke but from a parasitic infestation, highly contagious." His words were heard only by Dr. Sun to prevent surrounding students from panicking.
These bugs, although afraid of sunlight, can freely rampage when parasitizing a human. Lin Tian was unsure if close contact would cause transmission.
"Dr. Sun, Lin Tian is telling the truth," Xiao Manxuan, fearing that the female doctor wouldn’t believe them, spoke up to verify.
Dr. Sun saw how serious Lin Tian and Xiao Manxuan were and believed them somewhat.
Being decisive, she immediately instructed the nurses, "Be cautious when transporting, don’t touch the patients’ heads, hurry."
Upon hearing the doctor’s orders, Lin Tian breathed a sigh of relief, grateful that Dr. Sun wasn’t the kind of stubborn, face-saving quack.
The caregivers and nurses swiftly moved Zhao Weitao and Xiao Zhao onto the stretchers and into the ambulance.
"Dr. Sun, I’m their classmate; may I accompany them?" Before their departure, Lin Tian suddenly made a request.
"I am the teacher; I have the responsibility to take a look." Xu Feibai said stiffly.
Relatives are allowed to accompany in the ambulance, plus, both patients were unconscious, so someone had to follow to handle paperwork, and the doctors needed further information on the illnesses, which unconscious people couldn’t provide.
Dr. Sun waved her hand, allowing Lin Tian and Xu Feibai to get in the car. Xiao Manxuan opened her mouth, wanting to say she should go, but Lin Tian had already grabbed her shoulder and quickly said, "You go find He Xiaofei, then go with her to inform the professor of this issue."
"Alright." Xiao Manxuan wasn’t the type to be unreasonable; rather, she was highly sensible and understood priorities well.
After the ambulance door closed, it sped away, leaving a group of students in discussion.
"Mr. Xiao, they..." Ning Wenbin was still perplexed without understanding what happened.
"Zhao Weitao went into the basement privately and something went wrong; quickly inform Sister Luoxi." Xiao Manxuan explained the seriousness concisely.
Ning Wenbin had been in there too and knew the situation, and his expression turned serious. Without saying anything more, he sprinted towards the dorm, not having brought his phone to PE class, and Xiao Manxuan also left the playground.
Meanwhile, the ambulance quickly reached the hospital where emergency doctors were already waiting at the entrance. Lin Tian helped carry the patients down, mainly to prevent others from coming into close contact.
"Dr. Sun, what’s the situation? You weren’t clear on the phone." An old doctor with gray hair anxiously inquired.
"Director Liang, these two patients need immediate isolation, quickly!" Dr. Sun responded swiftly.
