The Red Dragon Just Wants To Do As It Pleases - Chapter 356 - 230: I Promise, I Won’t Beat You to Death (Part 2)
No, this is the script that his old man Attilicia got.
Or could it be the story of the mixed-blood warrior who grew up believing his whole village was destroyed by the Red Dragon and, upon finally finding the Red Dragon to exact revenge, succeeded in chopping off one of its dragon horns, only to be told by the Red Dragon, "Actually, I’m your mother?"
Damn it!
"Hey, hey, hey! I let you off the hook for ’blatantly cheating’ earlier, but calling in a ’ringer’ from outside when you can’t win is a bit much, isn’t it?!"
And it’s a legendary Red Dragon Queen ringer, no less.
Seeing the momentum shifting against him, David no longer pursued any notion of a ’fair and just warrior’s duel’.
Although he could indeed overpower humans with his near-bug-level combination of combat style and abilities, he knew perfectly well that he couldn’t contend with a true, long-established legendary Red Dragon.
David had personally witnessed just how terrifying his own mother, Pafila’s, strength was.
To prevent this worst-case scenario, he manifested eight Outiluk Agility Orbs circling him and slammed them directly into the pit.
"So, it’s Pafila’s little brat! How interesting! Heh hahaha!" The opponent dropped all pretense. With an explosive burst of fire from beneath her feet, she launched herself towards David like a missile, dragging her dragon blade, which was twice her own height.
Just as David had done in the past, she cleaved several Outiluk Agility Orbs, each weighing hundreds to thousands of pounds, in midair. Seeing his finishing move fail, David instantly recalled the Abyssal Iron Greatsword embedded in the high wall with Mage’s Claw, barely managing to raise his sword to block as the opponent closed in. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
CLANG!!!
Between the two ’dragons’, a circular wind tunnel, turbulent with fire, seemed to instantly form and sweep through.
The two Abyssal Iron Greatswords, which David had crudely forged on the battlefields of Barto Hell relying solely on their ’unsharpened weight’ to overpower foes, could no longer withstand the abuse from two Red Dragons. They bent, cracked, and finally shattered, fragments scattering in all directions.
Everyone’s ears rang, and they couldn’t hear a thing. In their panic, they could only see Klinsmann on the viewing platform, his face twisted in despair, shouting something at the guards before being forcibly dragged away to retreat by Hamad, the Captain of the Guard. Some only caught a glimpse of a dark shadow flitting past before being plunged into eternal darkness.
As the dizzying tinnitus subsided, they finally heard the CLANG, CLANG, CLANG, CLANG of urgent bells ringing from all over the sky above the Royal Capital.
"An emergency evacuation alarm?" Some nobles at home were baffled, wondering if their King Luwalden had been assassinated yet again...
Because, aside from the sudden ’assassination of the previous king’ and the Great Rebellion 45 years prior, such bells hadn’t rung in nearly half a century.
Only those commoners who had already sensed danger from the earlier columns of flame bursting from the high wall and the unnatural tremors had begun to evacuate towards the outskirts of the city, following the herd instinct.
Having learned from the harsh lessons of the Great Rebellion, they knew the Royal Capital itself was actually the most dangerous place at such times. Hiding out in the remote mountains and forests for a while was relatively safer; after all, most of them were just migrant workers in the city.
And it was this defensive mindset, born from the harsh experiences of war, that saved their lives.
With a loud BANG, a large section of the Great Arena’s high wall was blasted out again. A Red Dragon was knocked ’down’ from it, its feet hitting the ground and instantly flattening half of a mansion nearest to the Great Arena.
David shook his head and looked up. ’Baptiste’ stood on the shattered high wall, her naked body wreathed in the Dragon’s crimson flames. Her mouth was stretched to her ears in a savage, exhilarated grin as she looked down at him. David mirrored her ferocious smile with a snort.
"CHH!"
Wrath
Then, just as she leaped from the high wall and dove towards him, unfolding her Dragon Queen wings, David took a step and vanished into the shadows.
Shadow Instant Step
He reappeared in midair, his claws already latched onto her upper body. The six ’Skyrend Engines’ on his wings flared to full power, and he slammed her straight through the Great Arena’s high wall. Before the stunned onlookers, they streaked nearly a kilometer across the Great Arena’s airspace in an instant, then smashed out through the wall on the other side.
Then, pinning the ’Dragon Slayer’s’ head, they wrestled and tore a path down the wide Kingdom Avenue for three miles in less than half a minute. Finally, his equally enraged opponent kicked him squarely in the chest, sending both ’dragons’ crashing into the fortified western gate complex.
Onlookers watched helplessly as the gate fortress crumbled under the brawl between the two monsters.
Another blinding flash erupted.
After the silent, searing light faded, most of the gate fortress was gone. David, his scales slightly curled, landed with a crash.
A thud sounded. ’Baptiste’, her body smoking and half her bones seemingly ground smooth, knelt on one knee and chuckled lowly,
"You should understand, fire is useless against me! We are, after all, both Crimson Dragons!"
"Oh, really? Perhaps you should try putting your bones back together before you say that."
Seeing that this brute David had actually seen through her need for time to complete her ’summoning’, ’Baptiste’ caused lava to well up beneath her feet. She then dashed down the street in the opposite direction from David, turning her head as she ran, a wide, taunting grin plastered on her face.
