The Lady's Butler: I Reincarnated To Serve The Villainess - Chapter 75: The Headmistress’s Disciple
"Shouldn’t you two be in school?"
Adrian, Renelle and Isla had finally decided to head back to the mansion when a voice from above them suddenly caused them to stop.
Looking above, they spotted a very familiar face looking at them,
The Headmistress.
"Ah, am I interrupting something?" headmistress Evelina said as she slowly landed before them only for her to pause as her eyes landed on Isla.
"Oh?"
"Headmistress Evelina," Adrian acknowledged her presence but the headmistress was uninterested in him right now.
Instead, she looked directly at Isla, who was now hiding behind Renelle, and said, "what a fascinating child."
She then looked at her two students before asking, "who is she?"
Try as she might, Evelina’s eyes could see nothing about the child, it was as if every information about her was shrouded.
Instead of an answer, Renelle placed her hand gently over Isla’s head almost instinctively, as if shielding her without making it obvious.
"Someone under my protection," she finally said before turning to Adrian and sighing, "and apparently, your new disciple."
The headmistress looked at Renelle, then she turned towards Adrian and smiled, "so this is the interesting disciple?"
"Yes," Adrian nodded, "is she to your expectations?"
Headmistress Evelina chuckled , this student of hers was definitely a scheming one.
She suspected that he already knew what her answer would be from the moment they made the deal,
Still, this increased her interest in him, but for now, she’ll be satisfied with the other anomaly before her.
"Very much," She replied, "I guess this means I owe you a favor, what would you like to request?"
"In due time, headmistress," Adrian simply answered, already having an idea what the favor would be.
Right now was not the moment to cash it in.
Renelle, standing by his side, watched their interaction with twitching brows.
"My, my, if I didn’t know any better, I’d think I was speaking to your lover," the headmistress suddenly spoke up, noticing the look, "with the way you’re glaring at me."
"I’m not glaring," Renelle denied, though her eyes still held the same look.
The headmistress patted her pockets for a while before saying, "I could’ve sworn I brought a mirror with me."
"..."
"Nevermind," she said after pretending to search for a while longer, "I’ll be leaving soon, so no need to continue with that frown."
The headmistress then turned towards Isla again before looking at Adrian.
"Well then," she clapped her hands lightly, "I suppose I’ll let you return to your... rather eventful day."
She was ready to leave before pausing and turning back to the trio.
"Now, for the reason I was here in the first place," Evelina started, "you wouldn’t have happened to notice any corrupted mana around, would you?"
Adrian’s shadow extended forward and an ice sculpture was pushed up as he asked, "them?"
"I see you handled them already," She muttered, nodding, "well then, if you don’t mind, can I leave submitting them to the Academy’s labs?"
Before Adrian could accept or reject, she floated away, leaving the three behind, marking her job as mostly done.
Well, it wasn’t as if Adrian had anything else to do with all these corpses, one should suffice for Alvíss, so the rest would be delivered to the lab.
His shadow slowly sank back into place, taking the ice sculpture with it as if it had never been there.
But the moment he turned to the side, he noticed Renelle’s gaze on him, well, he had noticed since earlier but she was really annoyed.
"I believe someone was disallowed from speaking to any female," She said the moment his eyes locked with hers, "or was I mistaken."
Internally, Adrian chuckled.
His lady was cute even when jealous, but he didn’t let the smile surface as he replied.
"I assumed the lady would make an exception since that was the headmistress," He said, "and we’re not at the academy yet."
Well, she did say any female that approached him, at the academy, so he was mostly right,
But his lady remained unsatisfied.
"You are not allowed to interact with the headmistress too much," She added a new rule to the punishment, "unless necessary."
"Will my lady be satisfied then?" Adrian asked.
"...." Renelle thought of it for a while before nodding, "yes, your obsession is only to be directed towards me, no one else."
"As you wish, my lady," Adrian finally smiled.
My lady really is really cute when jealous.
Absolute truths were always meant to be stated multiple times.
Meanwhile, Isla, who had been quietly observing the exchange, tilted her head slightly.
"Are you two fighting?" she asked softly.
Renelle turned to her in surprise before shaking her head, "no."
Adrian answered at the same time with a small smile, "not at all."
Isla nodded before holding on to Renelle’s hand without saying anything else.
Renelle cleared her throat lightly before starting to walk again with Isla’s small hand still in hers, "let’s go."
Her annoyance from earlier was completely gone, melted away by Isla’s presence, something that made even Adrian smile.
If this was the result of messing with the plot, then he might as well do it more often.
Maybe he’d get to see more of his lady’s cute side.
Unfortunately for him, his current interference in the plot had put him in the radar of a certain individual.
And the consequences would soon arrive.

"What was it I said?" The figure watching him earlier, known as the Master by his cult, muttered, "that’s right,"
"Let’s create singular existence born from excess, one born from accumulated corruption, from a threshold that should not be reached."
"If left unchecked, it will devour everything."
He looked around noticing that his scientists were moving around, doing his bidding without a single one aware of his presence.
Well, that much was to be expected, after all, he was in a completely different space, one that allowed him to see wherever he wished without ever leaving the royal capital.
The lab around him was cluttered with magic tools of every kind, but that wasn’t what pulled attention.
Instead, in the center of was a large tube and floating in the green liquid within was a a blob no bigger than a baby’s fist.
But the sheer amount of mana coming from it, spoke loudly of the danger it posed.
The man grinned as he looked at the creation before him.
"Looks like we’re ahead of schedule," The Master muttered, "isn’t that right,"
"Corrupted Spirit King?"
